This is the best treatment program. The care plan, group sessions, one-on-one therapy, and medical treatment is tailored to your specific needs. The staff is very caring, knowledgeable, and concerned about your recovery and well being. Can't say enough about my therapist Stephanie. She unlocked doors that have been cemented and buried for over 40 years. Wouldn't be where I am today without her. I'm finally finding my self. Proud to be an Alumni!

Aptly named, the Lighthouse Treatment Center serves as a beacon of light and hope for those suffering the afflictions of substance use disorders. I was on a path of self-destruction and was able to right myself towards a path of recovery wholly due to the care, compassion, counseling, therapy, and education imparted by the Lighthouse Leadership Team and Staff.
This is a truly an exceptional program focused on a holistic approach to rehabilitation and recovery. All facets crucial to a healthy and successful launch to recovery are carefully addressed, focused on restoring physical, mental, and emotional states of well-being.
Physical health is carefully monitored and medical needs are addressed and met by a competent and compassionate medical team. In addition to 24 hour access to snacks and beverages, nutritional needs are met by an outstanding kitchen staff, where healthy, well-balanced, freshly prepared and delicious meals are provided three times a day. Psychological education essential to the recovery process is imparted by well-trained and empathetic personnel whose compassion and dedication is readily apparent from day one. Both a licensed counselor and therapist are personally assigned to each client for one-on-one weekly meetings, who also have an open door policy to effectively address any needs related to your treatment progress. The facility itself is clean, peaceful, and well-maintained, providing comfortable accommodations and an overall environment conducive to a smooth and successful recovery.
It is important to emphasize how critical and effective the Lighthouse Staff and Team were in launching me to an overall state of well-being, where the daily encountered challenges of life we are overcome with understanding, patience and compassion. These are the attributes I encountered from the staff during my treatment at the Lighthouse and I am proud to be an alumnus to carry on this tradition of a program that ultimately saved my life and paved the way for a happy and healthy future.

As a private practice physician with three board certifications working in the fields of psychiatry and addiction medicine, I was always vigilant about getting to know the treatment centers in my community. I took unpaid time off to visit facilities in person, and meet with the owners, medical staff, and counselors. I was so disheartened by the status quo, which seemed to be nothing more than overly priced housing with a few AA meetings thrown in, and nefarious billing practices were commonplace at the time. A colleague brought me to Tree House Recovery, telling me it was different. Again I walked into a room of men, waiting for the pitch I’d heard dozens of times. It never came. In that room I found curiosity, knowledge, conviction, community. Vechi gave his pitch, but it was for an entirely different game. I spoke at length with the founder Justin about the neurochemistry of addiction, and the non-medication approaches to healing brains and bodies ravaged by impulsive and compulsive addictive behaviors. He got it. He preached it. I started sending patients. My patients disappeared. I’d call Tree House concerned about relapse and be told, “X is doing great! He’s still sober. He doesn’t need you anymore.” Music to my ears. Over my years of practice I “lost” many patients to THR. Vechi became my go-to phone call and was always available for my referrals. They kept in touch with me. They taught the patients I sent how to be themselves again—or for the first time! They don’t believe in recovery, they believe in life.

My recovery experience at Treehouse Costa Mesa was nothing short of amazing. The team that Justin has assembled are extremely competent and superb at their profession. I specifically want to give praise to a few of the treatment team; Coach Tom, Therapist Chuck and Therapist Tommy were instrumental in my recovery process. Thank you TH team!!!

The place is great but they don't do mat. I would have stayed long term but I've been on subs for 10+ years. When struggling to get sober one should not have to struggle with medication in order to receive treatment. This is my opinion. Other than that it's a great facility.

First Step without a doubt saved my life. Today I have 2.5 years clean and sober due to the grace of God, the owner Gus, and all of the clinicians at First Step. They provided me with 120 days of treatment in their facility where they used intense therapy that focused on my past and PTSD. They also brought in my family for a group family session. I owe First Step my life!

Simply an awesome caring facility. The staff gives 100 percent and then some! They display a true genuine concern for those in their care. Communication is exceptional! My son has been in many facilities over the years and Provive Welles is the best place that he has been in and made the most progress. Everyone that I’ve communicated with was phenomenal.
However, the majority of my communications were with Megan, Emily and David. I must give them special recognition for my sincerest appreciation.
Thank you Provive Wellness for caring for my son above and beyond my expectations.

I’ve been with Provive for about a month or so now. I was having urges to drink myself into a blackout state. Been this way for about a week….I mentioned it in front of the house manager and nothing happened. Today was the worst of my urges. Megan had reached out to check on me and she was able to help me through without relapsing…. Thank you, Megan for all your help!!

Frequently Asked Questions
Does AmeriHealth Cover Drug and Alcohol Rehab?
Most AmeriHealth plans will cover at least some addiction treatment in accordance with the 2010 Affordable Care Act (ACA). However, the amount each plan carries and the requirements to ensure coverage applies will vary from plan to plan. That means it’s important to check the details of your insurance before you commit to rehab.
Insurance benefits can differ widely, so it may help to compare how other insurers structure their addiction treatment coverage. You can learn more about rehab options to get a clearer sense of what’s typically included for detox, inpatient care, and outpatient services.
Also all insurance plans will focus on covering medically necessary care. Working with your doctor to get a treatment plan based on your needs will help you get coverage for the addiction treatment that’s appropriate for your situation.
What Are AmeriHealth Plans?
AmeriHealth offers multiple plans through their family of companies. This includes individual and family plans along with Medicare options and Medicaid.
You can get individual and family plans through your employer or in the Insurance Marketplace in New Jersey or Delaware or Florida. There are also Marketplace options in North and South Carolina. If you get your insurance through the Marketplace your plan is likely to be a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) or Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO) plan. With an HMO you will have a doctor who serves as your primary care physician (PCP). Your PCP will give you referrals to specialists within the provider network and help with any needed prior authorizations. An EPO doesn’t require you to get a referral to see a specialist like an addiction counselor or therapist. Both HMOs and EPOs only cover in network providers unless there’s an emergency or need for urgent care.
AmeriHealth offers Medicare Advantage plans in New Jersey as well. Medicare Advantage is a full replacement plan for Original Medicare. It covers the same things as Original Medicare but often has additional benefits. The AmeriHealth Advantage plan includes routine dental and vision care along with hearing coverage and virtual medical care. AmeriHealth’s Advantage plan is a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) which means you can see out of network providers although you’ll pay quite a bit more out of pocket. You can also see in network specialists without a referral.
AmeriHealth Caritas offers Medicaid plans and Dual Eligible Medicare Medicaid plans in a variety of states. Medicaid coverage is determined by the state but you will have access to a wide variety of care which includes addiction treatment. You will need to choose medical providers that accept your state’s Medicaid plan.
What Inpatient Addiction Treatment Does AmeriHealth Cover?
Most AmeriHealth plans cover inpatient care as required by the Affordable Care Act. Since insurance focuses on medically necessary treatments getting a treatment plan from your doctor is essential.
For example, the ASAM assessment evaluates the patient’s needs and obstacles along with resources and support system. This information helps decide the right level of addiction care whether that’s inpatient treatment or some level of outpatient rehab.
Inpatient care usually begins with medical detox and is followed by a stay of about 3 to 4 weeks in a care center. This is typically the most intensive level of rehabilitation available.
What Outpatient Rehab Does AmeriHealth Cover?
Outpatient rehab care is a form of addiction treatment that allows patients to continue living at home while attending rehab for multiple hours a week at treatment facility.
These are the three main types of outpatient care:
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
General Outpatient
PHP is the most intense type of outpatient care and is also known as day treatment because you’re in rehab all day although you go home in the evenings. IOP is next and requires around 9 hours of treatment each week divided across three days. You can often choose morning or evening sessions to better accommodate your work or school schedule.
General outpatient is the least intensive and meets once or twice a week. The biggest difference between all forms of outpatient and inpatient care is that you can continue living at home during outpatient rehab.
Does AmeriHealth Cover Methadone & Suboxone (MAT)?
Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is often an essential part of addiction recovery. Many AmeriHealth plans cover MAT under behavioral health services.
MAT is commonly used during detox to manage withdrawal symptoms which helps you stay safe and as comfortable as possible during the process. It can also be used as an ongoing treatment of opioid and alcohol use disorders.
Methadone is a long acting full opioid agonist that works on the same receptors as opioids but doesn’t produce a high. Suboxone works similarly to methadone — acting on the same receptors — but it isn’t as strong.
MAT helps you manage cravings and avoid relapse during treatment while you’re learning new skills and mindsets. As you get stronger in recovery you can wean off the medication support and live a fully substance free life.
Does AmeriHealth Cover Other Mental Healthcare?
Most plans provide some level of coverage for mental health treatment thanks to the ACA. However it’s always a good idea to check your specific plan to confirm what’s covered. Mental health treatment may include counseling and crisis support along with and care for co occurring disorders.
When someone is diagnosed with both addiction and another mental health issue it’s called a co occurring disorder. This is common in addiction treatment and should be addressed simultaneously to support successful long term recovery.
Can I Travel Out of State For Treatment With AmeriHealth?
It depends on your exact AmeriHealth plan and whether you can travel out of state. Many plans require that patients stay in a defined provider network unless they need emergency care.
Some plans include coverage for care outside the network but you’ll pay far more for copayments and deductibles. For example the Medicare PPO plan available in New Jersey offers out of network care but it’s much more expensive.
In general staying within your state and your provider network is better to maximize your insurance coverage and reduce costs.
How to Verify Coverage With AmeriHealth
If you need to verify your coverage with AmeriHealth you can either call their customer service number or log into your online member account. This will give you coverage information and help you find in network providers.
Another option is to ask the treatment center you’re considering if they accept your specific plan. Make sure you verify coverage using your exact plan name and not just “AmeriHealth” since they offer a range of plans with varying levels of coverage.
By calling the helpline you agree to the terms of use. We do not receive any commission or fee that is dependent upon which treatment provider a caller chooses. There is no obligation to enter treatment.
Calls to numbers on a specific treatment center listing will be routed to that treatment center. Calls to any general helpline could be forwarded to SAMHSA or a verified treatment provider.
If you wish to connect with non-sponsor centers, you can browse top-rated listings, visit our homepage and browse by state, or visit SAMHSA.
