I owe a lot to New life Recovery centers from where I was in life and in my addiction to where I am today. From the day I entered to when I left (and even still they check up on me) the staff were amazing, kind, welcoming, attentive and knowledgeable. I've been to 3 rehab locations and White Sands was by FAR the best. You are not treated as a prisoner like every other rehab. You are literally staying in a hotel with treatment. You can use your phone in the evening for like 6 hours and have full satellite cable TV. Private room and bathroom. They make you comfortable not like you are in jail.

I came to this clinic because of my pain from an accident that broke my back and caused me to need several surgeries in order to partially repair my lower spine. I still need surgery and my pain doctor I was going to retired without much notice (1 week) and I could not find any pain doctors that would keep me on the methadone (I don t like the loopy feeling the other meds give you) they all wanted to put me on Vicodin which I was on for a few years and hated it because it made me sick and dizzy plus it was damaging my liver so I cannot take that anymore so my Dr put me on methadone because it lasts longer and you take less of it. My pain doctor told me to come to the clinic they treat for pain also not just addiction issues, and I am extremely happy I did because every single person at this clinic is amazing. The staff is caring and very helpful with any issues. I admit I did feel awkward at first going to this clinic because I was not a former drug addict and didn t have addiction issues so I felt out of place but they made me feel comfortable and not judged. My counselor Roy has been phenomenal and helping me cope with my daily stress and the stresses that my life has brought to me he s always there for me and always willing to talk to me no matter what and without him, for example today, I don t know if I could ve handled it if I hadn t been able to talk to him today, he was there for me and calmed me down talked me through the issues and made me realize that I just need to relax and stop stressing about things that I cannot change and he is an amazing counselor and I could not ask for anything better. This place is also awesome if you need it for addiction issues, I ve seen how they treat everybody and everybody is treated the same way with respect and dignity and they help everyone . I finally registered for VA Healthcare and with some doubt, made an appointment for a physical. I was completely surprised and impressed with the whole experience. The staff was knowledable, friendly and showed concern. They were all articulate and spent considerable time with me. The facility was clean and modern. I remember Gary, harry, even the maintainance manager gave me support as a strong mentor, i remember the groups and kitchen crew and commisary, floor jobs. My therapist was very helpful even gave me options for my treatment. I cant remember names but i do remember kind faces. Especially my case manager Evelyn.
