Magellan Health provides behavioral health solutions and care management services to insurance plans and employers along with states and federal agencies. However Magellan doesn’t determine what is covered or how much coverage you have — the insurance plan determines that.

Employers can take advantage of Magellan’s eMbrace employer solutions. This includes Employer Assistance Programs (EAPs) along with behavioral health care. They also have specialized solutions that augment those programs by giving additional support to young adults and adolescents along with parents and caregivers and more.

For states Magellan provides behavioral healthcare and children’s services. They also give state programs access to peer support for recovery.

Finally for federal agencies and the military Magellan Federal offers mental health and substance use services and care management along with family support services and administrative support.

Does Magellan Health Cover Mental Healthcare?

All of Magellan Health’s solutions include behavioral health services which includes mental healthcare. However Magellan doesn’t decide exactly what is covered or how much coverage is available — your insurance plan does that. So it’s important to talk to your insurance company or employer’s benefits specialist to get the details of your plan before you begin a program.

Mental health services include crisis support as well as therapy and counseling. You may be able to get peer support from those who have gone through the same issues. Whether you struggle with depression or anxiety or other mental health concerns most insurance plans will provide at least some coverage.

One thing to keep in mind is that many people with substance use disorders also have mental health diagnoses. Having both together is called a co occurring disorder or a dual diagnosis. If you have a dual diagnosis is essential to get integrated treatment that addresses both issues so you can maximize your chance of long term recovery.

What Inpatient Addiction Treatment Does Magellan Health Cover?

All the staff truly want to help in any and every way that they can. I have been to proabaly 10 different treatment centers in my recovery journey and the care and treatment that I received at Windmill far surpasses all of them. All the staff loved on me and believed in me until I could do so for myself. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone struggling with addiction or mental health issues.

I highly recommend doing the zoom classes if you are a homebody, shy person like me. Germaine is a sweet and genuine person who made me feel comfortable being in group therapy with strangers. Daily fellowship with Chrissy on zoom is all about starting the day with positivity, inspired by daily inspirational readings to encourage personal growth. I'm almost 6 months sober, already finished IOP and I still attend the daily fellowship because it's conveniently over zoom and it still helps me. Christopher helped me reevaluate and strengthen my values and communication skills which has helped me become a more assertive person. I sure miss our weekly deep dives! These are good people, working to make the world a better place for ever person who does the uncomfortable work. Be authentic, do the uncomfortable work and surrender the outcome.
