About Cedar House Life Change Center

Cedar House Life Change Center is an alcohol and drug rehab center that treats those struggling with addiction in the Bloomington, California, area. Their levels of care include both residential and outpatient programs, giving you the tools needed to recover at your own pace. Their staff speaks Spanish as well.

They offer expert-led withdrawal management services for those who require 24/7 supervision while going through the withdrawal process. With this service, you can get individualized treatment plans and compassionate care that makes the entire process easier to get through. You’ll be closely monitored by their staff which has over 50 years of experience in the field. In order to manage withdrawal symptoms, you’ll be given medication to minimize the symptoms. This can be reduced more and more the closer you get to recovery.

Their residential program offers some great tools as well, like group counseling, family group counseling, and several support groups, including LGBTQ+ care, anger management and relapse prevention. They also offer perinatal care for both English and Spanish speaking women who need specialized care and education on parenting. This can include parenting and life skills training and childcare for your child while you undergo addiction treatment.

Alternatively, they offer a sober living for men program. This program gives you the chance to take the next step in a setting where like-minded men can help support you on your journey.

Finally, their outpatient program can give you great counseling options as well. These services are modeled after the MATRIX model.

Review: My Experience at Maple House (Cedar House)I stayed at Maple House, a prenatal program at Cedar House, and had a mixed experience. My case manager, Laura Garcia, was unprofessional and struggled to separate her personal life from her work responsibilities. She went out of her way to contact my social worker with false allegations, which created unnecessary stress.I also experienced racial slurs from other clients and reported these incidents to Laura, but she ignored my complaints and disregarded my concerns. This made the environment feel unwelcoming and hostile at times. However, I want to highlight the exceptional support I received from Eva, a staff member who has worked with Cedar House for over 20 yiears. Eva was incredibly kind, professional, and motivating. She played a significant role in encouraging me to stay and complete the residential treatment program despite the challenges I faced. While I am grateful for the positive impact Eva had on my journey, the unprofessional behavior of certain staff and the lack of action regarding serious complaints left much to be desired.

Accepted Insurance

Cedar House Life Change Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

I have been trying to talk to someone/anyone that works at the Cedar House for over a month. I have sent emails, tried calling, left phone messages, left "chats" and still can't talk to anyone! Getting ridiculous... don't let their response fool you, yeah someone touched base with me, helped me? No, got back to me? No, I had to spend the morning trying to get someone on the phone again, only to be told nothing has been done. I have a time sensitive matter and I am running out of time. If these people actually come through then I will apologize for this comment....

Worst experience in all of my excentince!!!!!!!!!!! I arrived there with very high hopes on this journey to get sober and get my life affairs in order.. I constantly explained that the meds they put me on were not only not working they were affecting my sanity! Didn't feel, safe didn't feel my conscerns where being validated at all!! Any switch in meds takes days. So u live in toture that no human being should ever indure!!!! I had a horrible reaction to their meds that they gave me. I had to be sent to the hospital. While at the e.r I was left there! With no way back. Cause I couldn't get any one on the phone. Kaiser/Fontana horrible place also..seen me as a p.o.s drug addict! Was shude awayhad to call my own ride. Only thing I was told was sorry. Here take more of the meds that sent u to the e.r. .that should work.Went back by my own accord only to be given insomnia for another 4days in a room with everyone snoring like freight train . E. O u have insomnia now sorry. Gives us another 2 days in that state while we try and get it together.

I first stepped foot into Cedar House as a client on 11/02/2018. Since that day 5 years ago I have used the tools they gave me and have maintained sobriety ever since. The staff is amazing and they care deeply about their clients. Thank you for all that you do.
