About Meridian Health Services

Meridian Health Services provides physical health, mental health, and social health services for clients of all ages. They offer a long list of programs designed to help clients feel their best, including medical detox services, intensive outpatient treatment, and aftercare for adults in addiction recovery. They accept self payment, private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, and the Healthy Indiana Plan. Some clients qualify for a sliding fee discount.

Something interesting about this facility is that they’re known for providing “whole person health.” If you’re trying to overcome an addiction, they won’t just treat your obvious symptoms. They’ll work with you to understand why you feel drawn to drink or use drugs, what kinds of things trigger that behavior, and how you can cope in a healthier way. You’ll attend counseling services for nine hours a week for as long as you need to. Then, you’ll move to a 12 week relapse prevention program that will show you how to keep up your progress.

Another neat thing about this program is that they offer a few specialized programs for specific populations. For example, if you need to detox before entering treatment, you can spend three to five days at their Addictions and Recovery Center. If you’re pregnant or you have a newborn and you’re struggling with substance abuse, they have a Maternal Treatment Program for you. They also offer transitional housing for adults who’ve completed primary treatment but still need a little more support as they reintegrate into society.

One past client remarked that the staff members at this location are incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. Another mentioned that the physicians were helpful without being condescending, which they appreciated.

Accepted Insurance

Meridian Health Services works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab provides intensive, round-the-clock care and is designed primarily for clients who have just completed detox, those in early recovery, and those at an increased risk of relapse. Inpatient treatment typically includes extensive psychotherapy that draws on various modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. Clients also learn the recovery-focused life skills needed to promote sustained recovery. Many inpatient drug rehabs also offer evidence-based holistic therapies like meditation, yoga, massage, and experiential therapy.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients receiving support in a rehab aftercare program have completed inpatient care and may also be preparing to exit formal outpatient care. Outpatient services are typically categorized as rehab aftercare, but these services often continue beyond the cessation of formal treatment. Rehab aftercare services are designed to promote life-long recovery through comprehensive, wraparound care, which may include medical, mental health, and social services. These programs are usually created in collaboration with the client's case manager and care team.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
When removing addictive substances from your body under the care of licensed medical professionals, the process is called medically assisted detox. Once you've become physically dependent on substances like alcohol, opioids, or benzodiazepines, quitting can be uncomfortable or even dangerous. To minimize risks to your health and overall discomfort, a team of medical professionals monitors you 24/7 and provides medications if necessary (like Suboxone or methadone) to ease potential symptoms of withdrawal.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
hiv-aids-program thumbnail image
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS programs support disease prevention and management in high-risk individuals in recovery. Individuals who engage in intravenous drug use and other addictive behaviors are at a higher risk of becoming infected with HIV. Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
postpartum-program thumbnail image
Postpartum Program
The postpartum period is a sensitive time, especially for women in addiction recovery. Rehabs with specialized programs for new mothers will offer compassionate, personalized care to meet each client's needs as they transition from pregnancy to this season of life. Care teams may include obstetricians, pediatricians, and social workers working collaboratively to give women, children, and families a healthy future.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational interviewing aims to stimulate the client's personal motivation and commitment to change. Rather than receive advice and warnings from the therapist, the client is given the opportunity to share their concerns and reach their own conclusions.

During trauma therapy in Indiana, your therapist helps you process traumatic experiences and learn how they affect your emotional, mental, and physical responses. You learn effective coping strategies that help to reduce the symptoms and improve your mental health and well being.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills include cognitive skills, interpersonal skills, and personal skills that help you manage daily living. Cultivating these skills during rehab in Indiana is an important part of recovery. With these skills, you'll be able to navigate challenges and prevent relapse.

Their appointment are a complete chaos, it's really hard to get a time that is convenient for you. They have no consideration for your time or any previous commitments you had. The counselors don't try to treat you instead they just give you medication.

Doctors are never there. Always being told to go to Med Check. Make appointment and then get called to push time up them get a call an hour later and git told the doctor went somewhere else and get appointments totally canceled.Would NOT suggest this place to anyone. Very unprofessional and lacks people skills. They are just out for money they don't care about patients. No don't go here. You would be better off going to Northridge out by the YMCA they care about their patients out there. Couldn't take my kids outta Meridian fast enough Laura Clark is NOT a doctor she ias a Nurse Practitioner, she is supposed to be monitored by a doctor in the building but guess what the doctor walked out. So they are not even going by the laws that govern the medical field in Indiana. Kept giving my son meds for an ulcer. Left and took him to Northfield cause he started spitting up blood. After checking him and doing some imaging he got sent to a specialist in Indy...he'shas a gluten allergy. These people are idiots.

I wouldn't say they're the best but it's what we got in NC and they do try it's just that some policies make zero sense but ..(that being said)They do happen to employ A Most Amazing therapist/addiction counselor there tho..I feel confident in saying that she has saved possibly 100s if not 10s of 100s of lives. Her name is Betty Hancock and She Is Incredible! she's actually Meridians best kept little secret! If there could only be more like her!

Even if you're dying DON'T go here! I went to a doctor at this practice thinking I may be pregnant, she said I wasn't. Went back TWO more times (even bringing 4 positive home pregnancy tests with me!) they still said I wasn't pregnant and that I was only getting positive pregnancy tests because of kidney damage. They refused to give me a referral to an OBGYN because they could do exams "in the office" so I didn't need a referral ! My "kidney damage" is now a healthy, beautiful, 3 year old girl, thankfully we were both ok, despite delayed prenatal care. You could probably get better care at a veterinary clinic than at this place!

NP Laura Clark is our primary care physician that we consider our family doctor . She s very kind and takes great care of us! We ve been other places and no one compares to her compassion and how she educates us about what we need without making us feel really stupid. We will continue to keep seeing her as long as she s here! I dont know who all the bad reviews are for but I have a hard time believing they re for Laura. She s the BEST!
