Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

Equine therapy, aka equine-assisted therapy (EAT), is a form of experiential therapy that involves interactions and activities with horses. It does not necessarily involve riding horses, but all activities related to horses, such as feeding, grooming, haltering and leading them. A mental health professional frequently oversees the activities (often in conjunction with a horse professional), and helps patients process their thoughts, feelings, and behavior patterns during and/or after the interaction.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

The goal of couples therapy in California is to strengthen the couple's relationship. The therapist may take one or more approaches to counseling which may include the Gottman method, emotionally focused therapy, behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic couple's therapy.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

nutritional-therapy iconNutritional Therapy

recreational-therapy iconRecreational Therapy

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

art-brush iconCreative Arts Therapy

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

nicotine iconNicotine Replacement Therapy

The goal of nicotine replacement therapy in California is to mitigate the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal. It cuts down on your cravings by supplying a small dose of nicotine without exposing your body to the toxins of cigarette smoke.

First and foremost, let me start off with Owner, Ross. A amenity fee for the pool and wow that s how you handle a salt water pool???? Well guess what, if you want to use the spa within these facilities, you have to call at least two hours in advance for Ross to turn on the spa heater. Yep. Forget the pool but hasn t been properly cleaned. Unacceptable. Everybody should be refunded the money for their so-called amenity fee.

I just left New Dawn yesterday after staying almost double the time I originally planned to because I was still getting so much out of the program. The property is beautiful, there is a pool and hot tub, private rooms and a chef. They offer EMDR/trauma therapy, massage, acupuncture, yoga, fitness/gym time, reiki, brainspotting, addiction education, fun outings and more. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Jerry (the counselor) is amazing and so supportive. He s super fun to be around and keeps you accountable but is also very understanding. Craig (the therapist) is also wonderful and very dedicated and involved in everyone s recovery. Their guidance has helped me get to a place in my recovery that I never could ve imagined when I came in. I highly recommend this location if you re looking for a treatment center.

Staff was attentive and caring, excellent daily programing with emphasis on holistic methods to find focus, calm, and clarity. Chef prepared fresh meals catering to all dietary restrictions. One of the lead counselors, Jerry (can t remember his last name sorry Jerry) went above and beyond to make sure all residents needs were being met, and fostered a safe environment to share thoughts and concerns. The on site therapist Craig Bissell was compassionate, considerate, invested in the well being of clients, and consistently available. Glad to have chosen Villa Ladera to get clean and start my journey in recovery.

WARNING New Dawn advertising at first glance seems like the perfect place for you or a love one journey to recovery. My Son was drawn to this place expecting the falsely advertised therapies like massage therapy, acupuncture,, customized treatment, and jacuzzi which he needs in order to control his pain. We expected a detox plan specially cater to his needs. They do have therapy , but no massage therapist, no acupuncturist, the jacuzzi is only turned on for two hours late in the evening. It s states that is a luxury home, it is a nice house that did not even water one morning. Water my son needed to take a hot shower to relieve his pain. Besides the insurance we had a fee which I thought would be worth paying if they were providing everything they promise. This place is a rip off. One of the assistance refused to help my son when he was in pain and in need of assistance, the girl even refused to bring water while he was in pain and vomiting. How ever they do have a male assistant who is very nice and so is the chef. They charged us $3000. 00 up front which was $200.00 a day for 15 days plus the insurance. He was kicked out on the sixth day and they did not return the unused funds. Be really careful, and mindful of this place.

They stole $3000 cash from my family member during his first few nights in the detox facility. They are lies They claimed to be a detox and medical monitoring center and were not. My family member had to go to the emergency room the first night. My family member was waiting for in house doctor There is no doctor on-site. You don t see a psychiatrist on site, although your insurance is billed as if you have a team of licensed physicians overseeing your care. but insurance is billed daily. They charged my family member tens of thousands of dollars and we later found out that insurance had been paying everything. They kick my family member out early one week.New Dawn didn t even have the spa workingOnly 2 hours a day, this facility has water problems they run out of water.

First and foremost this place is very expensive. The loomis location is where they have private rooms for a very high fee per day. Now, I stayed at the loomis location for 30 days and it was not what you think it as per their website.First complaint. The hot tub -jacuzzi did not work for the first 17 days of my stay. I told the counselors multiple times and they acted like it was not Important to them but keep in mind this is included in the ammenity fee. After it being somewhat fixed the owner controls it from his home and only turns it on for 2 hours and it takes at least 1 hour for it to warm up and then it doesnt maintain temperature and before you know it, its turned off.2nd Complaint. The hot water in each room takes between 10 and 15 minutes to get hot and if you want to take a bath at anytime you must waste water and wait for it to heat up to an acceptable temperature. This was never fixed and I was told that "The owner was not going to fix it."3rd Complaint. The wifi at this location is horrible. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. We would be watching a mandated show on your tube or nextflix and the video would stop. If you try the wifi on your personal device or laptop, good luck as it does not work well either. Also cellular reception is horrible also. Again I complained about this many times as well the other clients were and the response given to me was again that "The owner would not fix this."4th Complaint. The heater vent in my room was broken and not working and after complaining about it for over 2 weeks it was not fixed but the maintenance person simply moved the vent slightly as it was broken. Rather than fix it, he only forced the vents to a different position.5th Complaint, all of the rooms are very cold, there are lots of blankets but that's not the point. The overall heating system is not efficient at all.6th Complaint. On one occasion, one of the staff turned off the propane fire place in the living room while we were enjoying the heat and this staff member went on to say, "We are low on propane." Well, if it is true that the propane is low, wouldn't you fill the tanks up? Keep in mind, you are paying for all of these amenities.7th Complaint. During my stay, I personally seen how they pick and choose their battles and how some clients get privelages that others don't, I am a firm believer that we all should get equal treatment and these observations have nothing to do with someones addiction.8th Complaint. During my stay my counselor did not find enough time to review the required or given assignments while I was there. My exit plan was never reviewed as I was told multiple that it would be and I was only handed about 6 pieces of paper outlining what I needed to have done prior to leaving and with the understanding that this counselor would thoroughly review it with me which never took place.Overall my stay at Loomis was not what I expected. When I first initiated the process over the phone I was told that my medication for detox would be available upon arrival at the site, guess what it wasn't. Keep in mind when you are going through the withdrawal symptoms it is of utmost importance to have these readily available upon arriving and in my case it was not and as well it was brought to my attention by other clients that the same had happened to them.I will conclude my review with this, If you are looking for a detox and or rehab center be very careful and do your research prior to making a decision. Good luck with your search.

This is a beautiful property and a lovely home to get clean/sober in (Villa Delera). There are some lovely staff members at well and some wonderful professionals that come to do yoga, education, life coaching, and massage. That being said for the $400 per day (totaling $14,000 for my stay ) on top of the fee for treatment (I believe mine was $85,000) I did not get what I was promised nor what the website clearly outlines. Directly from the website "All of our residents receive at least 4 individual sessions per week with their primary counselor, weekly sessions with our therapists, and also weekly visits with our Psychiatrist.". I never saw a therapist and had 3-4 short visits with one of two counselors the entire time I was there (35 days) and never saw a psychiatrist. It was the therapy and psychiatry that incentivized me to choose this company and specifically this location and pay the hard-earned $400 a day. They promote a 1:1 staff-to-patient ratio, which is definitely not the case, in fact, they are very understaffed. Yes, they have a pool and spa but it is not heated as stated on the website. Directly from the website "Our highly credentialed and experienced staff includes licensed therapists, certified addiction counselors, caring milieu staff, a Physician, and a Psychiatrist who specializes in addiction treatment and co-occurring disorders.", absolutely none of this, in fact when I requested to see a psychiatrist to discuss the depression and lethargy I was experiencing, I was told for $100 they would get me an online visit, Whaaaaaat!? The promised acupuncture happened once.Directly from the website, "We use only the freshest organic ingredients. Our highly skilled chefs can also prepare delicious vegetarian, vegan, diabetic-friendly and gluten-free options upon request. All the meals are plated restaurant style, and there is almost no limitation to what you can have for dinner, and our Registered Dietitian will work with you in choosing healthy food options during your stay. Filet Mignon, Lobster, Seared Ahi Tuna options for dinner, and fresh berry crepes for breakfast", Uhh, just NO. Shopping was done primarily at Walmart and Sam's club, never saw lobster, crepes or a nutritionist. Yes, I got sober for which I am very grateful, I also feel I should get refunded for the promises not kept from which I based my decision as to where to go for my treatment. I hope this helps you make a more informed decision.
