About The Ranch Pennsylvania

Their residential program is their most intensive level of care. It requires the client to live there for the duration of their treatment. Partial hospitalization is a step below this. This program allows you to return home each evening while you still have a full day of treatment each day.

They also offer medication assisted treatment during your detox process, if necessary. This process can help you lessen your withdrawal symptoms and cravings by an impressive margin. You’ll be supervised by professionals to make sure nothing goes wrong and to ensure you’re as comfortable as possible.

They are also a dual diagnosis center. Many people who struggle with addiction also tend to have co-occurring issues with their mental health, such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and even schizophrenia. This is why this type of dual treatment is so important.

In addition to all this, you’ll get gender specific services and receive trauma informed care while undergoing treatment. Treatment also includes counseling services, such as individual counseling, group therapy and family therapy. Their modalities of treatment encompass cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and 12 Step practices. They also have more holistic and experiential services, such as adventure therapy, therapeutic drumming and mindfulness practices. There is plenty here to benefit from if you are seeking freedom from drug or alcohol addictions.

I spent 22 days at the ranch for mental help. I would describe most of my experience as a positive. They give you the tools to help yourself. However. When I was discharged I had someone coming to get me at midnight the day of discharge. They arrived 45 minutes early. A nurse and a supervisor threatened to call the cops on me if I left 45 minutes early. They care more about the bottom line than they do the patients. They knew that forcing me to wait was putting me in a bad position and they still didnt care. What was ai going to learn at 11:15pm that I needed to stay 45 more minutes for?? I felt that my last day there reversed any help they gave me. If I didnt have insuranc3, 22 days would've cost me $46000. For that kind of money, you'd think 45 minutes wouldnt be any reason to contact police. And waste their time and resources.

Accepted Insurance

The Ranch Pennsylvania works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient rehabs specialize in providing comprehensive care for clients who choose to remain in their homes and communities during treatment. Their services may include transitional support for clients stepping down from intensive inpatient programming. Ambulatory medical detox may be provided for clients at low risk for withdrawal complications. Many programs include evening, night, and weekend services to accommodate clients who are working professionals or caregivers. Addiction counseling and life skills training are common treatment modalities.

inpatient iconInpatient

Inpatient rehab provides clients with an opportunity to focus solely on their sobriety away from the stressors of the home and workplace. Clients receive housing, food, and intensive clinical supervision. They also typically engage in multiple addiction counseling sessions each week, including daily individual, group, and/or family sessions. Most programs also prioritize recovery-focused life skills training, including courses in relapse prevention. Many facilities offer evidence-based holistic therapies, such as yoga and meditation.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Clients receiving services from a rehab aftercare program are usually stable and in the maintenance phase of recovery, having completed detox and/or intensive inpatient treatment. Rehab aftercare services can vary widely based on clients' individual and evolving needs, but often include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, 12 step program induction, and medical, mental health, and social service referrals. Individual care plans are typically developed by the client in partnership with their case manager and care team.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

Because the severity of withdrawal symptoms can fluctuate, constant monitoring under 24-hour clinical care in Pennsylvania is recommended for early recovery. As you undergo detox, medical staff will supervise your health and ensure severe symptoms do not develop or threaten your life. Professional counselors will also be available to treat mental and emotional health needs.

12-step icon12-Step

12 step programs prioritize the recovery journey as a life-long process based on personal spiritual growth and ongoing peer support. Regular attendance at 12 step meetings, which are held multiple times each day in most communities, is expected. Participants also receive one-on-one mentoring by a self-selected peer sponsor. The 12 steps are designed to encourage participants' self-compassion, awareness, acceptance, and accountability. Dedicated programs for specialized groups, including seniors, teens, and families, are common.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. The Ranch PA treats addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders simultaneously. This helps clients recovery fully and address all the issues contributing to their struggles.

The Ranch PA treats clients with primary mental health disorders like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, personality disorders and more. Clients receive behavioral therapy and medication management as appropriate.

The Ranch PA treats substance use disorders with evidence-based approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. Clients learn why they abuse drugs and alcohol and acquire healthy coping skills to prevent relapse.

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Pennsylvania is an evidence based technique that involves group therapy, individual therapy, and phone coaching. Group sessions focus on learning behavioral skills. Individual therapy gives you the opportunity to apply what you're learning to your personal situations. Phone coaching allows you to call your therapist during the week for help with challenging situations.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. In trauma therapies like EMDR, clients process trauma and move through it with the help of trained mental health professionals.

The Ranch is a uniquely beautiful treatment program and place. I had the chance to change my life here. The staff met me more than halfway and truly cared. Shout out Mike, Sean, and Tamiko. I’ve never experienced a better place for when you are broken. The Ranch is safe, informative, clean, and accommodating. There’s no comparison if you are struggling with substance abuse and/or mental health.

Response from the owner

My time at The Ranch was extremely disappointing and I would never recommend it to anyone. From the start there was a huge lack of honesty and communication. Before I got there I was told things that were completely untrue just to get me in the door. Once I arrived I was left confused, never given a tour, and had no idea where to go or what to do. They promised I would see a psychiatrist and therapist right away but I had to push for days before that even happened. I came here to work on trauma and PTSD. I have never used drugs, I don’t drink, and I was not suicidal. Yet the way they treated me, you would have thought I was in crisis. They tried to force me to stay in a level of care I didn’t need by scaring me and telling me if I left early my insurance wouldn’t pay. I later called my insurance directly and they confirmed this was nothing but a scare tactic. That told me everything I needed to know about how this place really operates. At first my case manager Jami seemed like she was on my side. She even made a plan for me to do two weeks of PHP and then move on to an IOP closer to home. That is exactly what I needed and I was excited. But as soon as my insurance approved me to stay in residential, everything changed. Suddenly she said it was out of her hands and the therapist told me I should stay even though I had been clear about what I needed. It was obvious that money and insurance coverage meant more to them than what was best for me. The psychiatrist at PHP was another low point. In one quick session she told me I was bipolar and tried to put me on antipsychotics, even though every provider I had seen before said I was dealing with PTSD and trauma. I didn’t come here for medication management. I came for therapy and support. That diagnosis felt rushed and careless. On top of all that, the living conditions were awful. The mattresses were thin, the pillows were flat, and the blankets felt like paper towels. People who had been there for weeks were still struggling to sleep. Anyone who knows anything about mental health knows how important sleep is, yet they made it nearly impossible to get any real rest. There were a few staff members who were genuine and did their best. Mark the therapist, Sean one of the BHTs, and Nurse Holly all stood out as kind and compassionate. I am grateful I met them. Sadly, the good they did was completely overshadowed by the dishonesty and manipulation coming from upper management and the director. The Ranch says it is not a prison and that you can leave whenever you want, but when I told them I was thinking of leaving, they made it nearly impossible to call my wife for hours. They tried to talk me in circles and convince me to stay. That is not care. That is control. The truth is this place feeds off of people when they are at their lowest. They take advantage of vulnerability and fear to keep you longer than you need to be there. I left feeling more stressed and disappointed than when I walked in. If you are serious about your mental health and want honesty and respect, stay away from this place.

Very relaxing environment in the southern wPennsylvania countryside. Beautiful view of the Susquehanna River and rolling hills. Therapists are mostly good and truly care. You won't get a "mother's touch" type of care from the clinicians. They speak plain and directly. I appreciated that. One or two come from SUD backgrounds, combined with their education/credentials, and they're relatable. The supporting staff and BHTs are very caring and always willing to talk and help when needed [shout out to Mike!!!]. There was one single BHT who was not that considerate, to include eating patients' snacks]. but his time expired and he was removed. Hats off to leadership for taking prompt action. By rehab standards, the food is excellent. Salad bar could use an upgrade, but that's a very minor thing. Some recipes they make are absolutely wonderful. The one chef, Ed [also in recovery], is always pleasant and great to talk with. Ask him to play some piano. You won't be disappointed. Activities are varied and engaging. You participate at your own physical capabilities and motivation, particularly with the ropes course. Walking the perimeter of the tree line is a very relaxing activity for unwinding, self-reflecting and getting steps. Wildlife everywhere. Do the meditation with Alan in the mornings. You won't regret it. If I ever need help again, I would return to the Ranch.

The Ranch Pennsylvania is so much more than just a treatment center—this place genuinely saved my life, and I will always be grateful for the weeks I spent there. From the moment I arrived, the beautiful facilities and peaceful grounds made me feel safe and at ease. I especially loved spending time in the meditation barn and walking the premises; those moments helped me reconnect with myself in ways I never could have imagined. The therapists are absolutely incredible, and Amber and Dara were instrumental in my healing process. They didn’t just teach me about recovery—they helped me uncover what I truly needed to begin to heal. The atmosphere at The Ranch is warm and supportive, with staff and fellow clients who care deeply and form real friendships. Approaching two years of sobriety, I still cherish the connections I made at The Ranch Pennsylvania and stay in touch with many wonderful people from my time there. I truly can't thank this place enough for everything it’s given me.

Response from the owner
