I almost went 2 stars but I have had great therapists here, the pharmacy being built-in is convenient and always friendly - however, the young lady with dark hair at the front desk who has recently appeared has absolutely no idea what she's doing. On one occasion she started badgering me about a $10 copay, which no one has ever asked me for before - I was apologetic because I didn't have my wallet with me while she was snappy like I was in school getting punished for something. Last time I was in, my therapist told me she had an appointment available for two weeks out, only for the same young lady to tell me she had nothing for over a month and make me feel like I was inconveniencing her just to get an appointment. I ended up scheduling a time I couldn't make just to end the interaction.I don't like leaving reviews like this, but it is a major damper on what is otherwise a positive experience for me.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients in a rehab aftercare program typically have completed intensive inpatient treatment but may be receiving outpatient care. Many have concluded outpatient treatment as well and are in the maintenance phase of their recovery. Rehab aftercare services are designed to provide a full continuum of care as clients apply their recovery skills at home, in the workplace, and in the community. Clients typically receive peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step recovery program induction, among other services.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Multiple intervention services are available to families who are facing addiction. Intervention specialists can help families plan and carry out a drug intervention in Kansas. They can also help families identify behaviors and family dynamics that are contributing to the problem. The expert can guide families in healthier communication patterns. This professional can also help each family member with their own recovery, regardless of how the addicted individual responds to the family's intervention efforts.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

The length, intensity, setting, and treatment methods vary for each drug rehab in Kansas. Plans of care can be tailored to meet each person's own unique situation and needs. With the right program, individuals can successfully achieve long-term sobriety.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

When applying motivational interviewing, your therapist will ask open ended questions that encourage you to think differently about your challenges. They will also affirm your strengths and abilities. They will then offer empathy and reflect your thoughts back to you so you can identify any discrepancies in your current behaviors and your future goals.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Fitness classes, art projects, and group outings are part of recreational therapy in Kansas. This is a holistic approach to addiction recovery that promotes your physical and mental health. These activities help you develop new skills and interests and improve your overall well being.

Creative arts therapy may be provided by qualified teachers, counselors, and psychotherapists. These professionals guide participants in self expression and emotional processing through activities such as dance, drama, poetry, painting, or sculpting.

Experiential therapy allows you to examine your inner feelings, values, and views of the world by participating in an interactive or creative activity. Your therapist helps you analyze your perceptions and work through any past trauma that may negatively affect your views.

Horrible and the front desk woman are rude and unprofessional. They've no idea what there doing tbh just there for the check my daughter had a assessment today that they booked and not to mention they did the assessment all for them to say ohh btw we will have to refer you out tf you couldn't have said this earlier before I wasted my and my daughters time. They actually need a place here in Leavenworth that actually want to help people out and not just offer meds. Like talking to actual Therapist smh tbh I thought I'd give them a shot and make my own assumption about the place though a lot people told me to stay away I see now. Thanks for helping out my grieving depressed child

Not a fan of this location. Nothing is easy - not Even a rx refill request. I felt like the provider made assumptions about me based on my meds and previous situation. I never leave reviews and I m not one to be bothered easily, but when each interaction stressful- something must be said.

Avoid this place if you want to be consistent with your medications.Been going here for a little less than a year, and they have never once given me my medication on time. They wont provide meds till after the next appointment, and the meds last 30 days, appointment is usually 40 days away.Even when I deliberately ask for an appointment that wont make me discontinue my medication, closest they can do is 32 days, after which they STILL require me to call them repeatedly to get my meds called in.I have had to continually ration my own medication because of their negligence. This is universally NOT RECOMMENDED.

This is a wonderful place as I have been coming here for a number of years. They have a great staff and they really care about you. There are programs here that have really helped me. My only complaint is about the Ride LV that operates out of here as they don't seem to have enough drivers and only one van with a lift which I need. Rides that I scheduled in advance keep getting canceled and there have been times that I have had to wait an hour to get picked up. All of the staff however are great and trying their best.

Went here roughly a year ago to find a new therapist, got placed onto a waiting list, told it would likely take over a year to get off of and was recommended to seek treatment elsewhere which I did. For several months after this initial consultation they repeatedly asked me to pay a $30 fee that had already been paid, even after telling them this and paying the fee again.Apparently, I was taken off of the waitlist at some point, assigned a therapist and was never informed. I only discovered this because today I received a letter informing me that said therapist was resigning. I received counseling here several years prior as a teenager which was effective, can't speak for their current services but the lack of professionalism being shown here says enough.

No compassion or empathy provided from front desk staff at all. You'd expect that a mental health facility would have that.
