outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) enable clients to receive high-level care while living at home. Clients may choose to enter IOP instead of enrolling in inpatient care post-detox or they may transition from an inpatient rehab into IOP. Intensive outpatient treatment involves multiple therapeutic sessions per week and includes a combination of psychotherapy and addiction and recovery education. Many programs also offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) and/or holistic therapies, such as acupuncture and massage.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

As a flexible option, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is tailored for those who don't require 24-hour care. PHP treatment can include daily therapeutic sessions and services such as relapse prevention and medication management. Based on your needs, PHP treatment duration can average 90 days and require a minimum of 20 hours of commitment weekly. While a partial hospitalization program typically requires a commute, telehealth may be available. PHP treatment costs can vary but are often covered by most insurance.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

During the medically supervised detox process, licensed medical professionals monitor your vitals and administer medications meant to help alleviate the physical symptoms of withdrawal. The process can take between five and seven days, although the actual length depends on your individual needs. In most cases, medically assisted detox is partially, if not fully, covered by insurance.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing in Illinois is person centered and collaborative. This method allows the therapist to come alongside the client to address the issue of ambivalence toward change. By listening and reflecting, the therapist helps the client see the need for change and commit to making changes.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

nicotine iconNicotine Replacement Therapy

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Now I understand the negative reviews! I had a brief phone conversation trying to seek help for a loved one and was horrified by the level of rudeness.

I dont understand why some of the security here are rude if you dont like working find another job. I was told the security has information on the room I needed to go to, and with so much attitude and rudeness, he hysterically threw his arms in the air and said "I don't have that information" it would be better to have security who at least cared enough to give me a real answer.

My teenage daughter was held for 10 hours in an emergency exam room, her vitals were only taken one time and she was only offered food one time. A sick woman was on a cot right outside of our room violently vomiting in a bag. She was on that cot for at least 6 hours "detoxing" from what I overheard. When we asked to be discharged AMA due to the wait and lack of care we were told that wasn't an option. I asked for the charge nurse, she came to talk to me and was extremely rude, condescending and uncompassionate for my daughter. I'm not sure what the staffing issue is but if you have a 9 hour wait time then there is a serious problem! Please hire more staff and stop leaving sick people on cots in the hallway!

The wait was terrible. When I was trying to give the nurse my information they said they couldn t find me in their system. The same nurse has my birthdate wrong she wouldn t even let me give all the medication that I am allergic too she was so rude. Then I had an ekg and another nurse came in to listen to my lungs which were not good. Then I had to go to another room for bloodwork then back to the waiting room. 20 minutes later I got my ex ray. Back in the waiting room for 4 hours. Then was finally seen but had to argue with the doctor because he wanted to give me an antibiotic that I m allergic to had to show him on my medical app. I can t believe the service they give patients and how dirty this hospital is.

In 2018 my dad was admitted to silver cross for aspiration pneumonia. At the time he also had cancer. He was not eating and was delirious with the pneumonia. He was not doing well, but he went there to be helped. The staff was quick to jump to the idea of palliative care. They pushed and insisted that he needed palliative care multiple times. A week prior my dad had been absolutely fine, so this seemed hasty to me and I ignored their shoves and let him continue being treated for the pneumonia. A few days in they are essentially telling me it s not looking good and to prepare for the worst. They have him on so much morphine he can t stay awake long enough to finish a sentence while I m visiting for 3 days straight. I started digging through google and was pretty certain they were giving him way too much morphine to keep him comfortable and assist in death. They determined that what was best for him was to slip away peacefully. 10 days prior my dad was healthy, I knew he was not supposed to die. I woke him long enough to tell him he needed to start refusing morphine no matter how much it hurt. I told him they were trying to kill him. He started to refuse the morphine and was a thousand times better the next day alone. He was discharged within 5 days. He ended up beating cancer and thrived for another 3 years, completely happy and in sound mind after that incident. If I had not intervened silver cross would have killed my father like they have many others. It was not their place to decide whether it was the right time for him to die or not, especially when there was NO discussion about their approach with me whatsoever. Silver cross is a disgusting, horrible facility with horrible nurses who neglect their patients everyday. Do NOT trust them. Do NOT take your loved ones here in critical condition because you will not see them again. It is more convenient for them to let their critical patients die than to save their families the grief and despair.

I'm surprised to see the ratings for this hospital because I have had two visits unfortunately in the last month and both were seamless and extremely pleasant. Two visits were to the urgent care in which everyone we encountered was extremely pleasant and efficient. I was in and out of urgent care in under 30 to 40 minutes in both instances and one of this visits was for a broken bone. The doctor made wonderful recommendations and gave all the information we needed to connect with a specialist as soon as possible. We were able to get in next-door at the hospital within two hours. The team and Dr. during that visit were also exceptional.

I was coughing up blood real bad that night when I asked my daughter to bring me to Silver Cross Hospital for treatment. We got there around past 2 am and approached the desk to let them know my symptoms. The staff asked my daughter if it was normal for me looking pale which is not normal. She brought me to a room where they can check my vitals and I told them my medical history. They have me to go to another room to have my blood draw and I thought I'll have an immediate care because of the symptoms I was having i.e. shortness of breath, bodily pain behind the back of my neck and in my chest but they told me to wait in waiting area and wait to be called again. I was called once to register and gave me a wrist band. I was confident that I would be taken care of soon but not until 8am I was called by one of the nurses to check my vitals but I complained about the waiting and told her everything what I was feeling. She knew I was really sick and did an ecg of my heart and gave me a mask to cover my mouth and asked me to wait in waiting area and when I was about to sit back my name was called again and a male nurse guided me to ER room and finally the time I'll get examined. The waiting is terrible especially when you thought you are dying that night. Anyway I'm very grateful to F nurse who came that morning that got my attention. Kudos to her.

I wouldn't send a dog to Silver Cross. They don't even bother to get patients up in a chair at any point. Just keep a senior in bed all day, not even making sure they are fed

I m currently in the hospital after showing up at the ER yesterday per the advice of my PCP. I have had the most pleasant experience here. Everyone, from the overworked ER staff to the nurses & CNAs on the floor to the transport staff, lab, environmental services, nutrition services, EKG, and especially the radiology/nuclear medicine team have all been outstandingly kind and professional. I am proud that Silver Cross is my hometown hospital and would recommend this facility to everyone. Other than the wait times in the ER, my stay here has been exceptional. A sincere thank you to everyone here. Wishing Brandon in the ER good luck for his bright future. Thank you for keeping this old lady company. Brooklynn my nurse has been an ANGEL. She is amazing at her job and I appreciate her care so very much. A big thank you also to the nuclear med echo & stress test ladies who were all so very kind and caring. I have stayed here before and it was never a negative experience. But this stay was definitely one to tell others about. Thank you all so very much for everything you do.

The desk people were pleasant. I was called for an initial assessment almost immediately. Then, quickly called for labs and x-rays. The nurses and staff were wonderful! After about 30 minutes a young man walked around handing out warm blankets. That was very appreciated! Then I sat for 8 hours... Staff yelled out names of people, but didn't walk around to find them. We learned the names of elderly people who were sleeping, so we could wake them if they were called. It was horrific to witness infants and elderly crying for hours - in need of care. We caught a woman falling out of her wheelchair. Several people had been dropped off by ambulances and didn't have family with them. They were in wheelchairs and needed help.My vitals were rechecked after 8 hours. After 8.5 hours I saw a doctor, and he did a wonderful job. He was considerate and compassionate. I didn't see any other doctors in the hallway or rooms... I believe he was working all night to deal with people who felt it was an EMERGENCY to get to a quality hospital, that was seriously understaffed! The system is broken if people are expecting emergency care and are waiting over 8 hours to receive care.... I stayed because my home was a 90 minute drive. The small, rural hospitals in my area are not equipped for my needs. I was horrified that a hospital of this level allowed a cesspool of germs to be in the same room for so long. Observing the level of human need in the waiting room was scarring. I will not allow my family to take me again.
