I changed my insurance told them, they called me to schedule appointment, I presumed they accept my insurance but still wanted a confirmation, they kept ignoring me every time I asked about my insurance, turned out they didn t accept my insurance and I only got to know that after my bill was over a thousand dollars.sadly because I liked my doctor but thankfully I found a great practice where they actually hear you out. Be very careful with this place

Five stars for our psychiatric nurse practitioner, Sharon Curtin. She has been wonderful from day one and has prescribed with insight and care and helped our child become himself again. Loss of star for the company policy - it is difficult to communicate with the provider between visits due to the company changing policy and providers no longer having a direct extension. Also, there is zero grace if you miss an appointment. Even though we had made every single appointment for a year and a half, we were billed $100 for the first (unintentional) no-show. It's the written policy, but some grace would be appreciated with a track record of reliability. The staff that manages refills and medication questions is great. They are responsive and communicative. Overall, recommend, especially Sharon. Just make sure you don't miss your appointment ever, and ask all your questions when you're with your provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient programs are designed for clients who are medically stable and not at an elevated risk of relapse, including those who have already completed inpatient care. Outpatient programs typically advance clients' established treatment plans, offering continuing addiction counseling and recovery education. Clients who enter outpatient care immediately following detox may also receive medical and mental health assessments and personalized treatment plans. Most outpatient rehabs provide multiple levels of care to align with clients' unique needs.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab offers robust, hands-on care in a highly structured and supportive environment. The facility provides housing, meals, and round-the-clock supervision, allowing clients to focus exclusively on their recovery. Inpatient treatment typically involves intensive addiction counseling based on CBT, DBT, RBT, motivational interviewing, or other psychotherapeutic approaches. Many inpatient treatment centers also offer life skills training and/or complementary therapies, including meditation, mindfulness, and nutrition counseling.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
Due to various health issues that substance abuse causes, 24-hour clinical care in Massachusetts is often a necessary part of treatment. Individuals may be suffering from infections, illness, or organ damage. Having 24-hour care available ensures that these physical problems are treated along with the psychological effects of addiction. Once individuals complete detox and are medically stable, this intensive level of supervision ends, and the next phase of treatment can begin.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Medically supervised detox is the process of removing addictive substances from your body and managing the withdrawal symptoms in a medically supervised environment. Typically, this is the first step in the recovery process and lasts an average of 5-7 days, though the length can vary depending on your individual needs. Once your system is cleared of alcohol and drugs, you'll likely transition to an inpatient treatment program for the next phase of your recovery.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
hiv-aids-program thumbnail image
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS programs support disease prevention and management in high-risk individuals in recovery. Individuals who engage in intravenous drug use and other addictive behaviors are at a higher risk of becoming infected with HIV. Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

During cognitive behavioral therapy in Massachusetts, clients work with a trained counselor to identify negative thinking patterns and change them. This change in thinking has been shown to lead to changes in behavior to treat substance use and mental health disorders effectively.

If you are experiencing intense, negative emotions, dialectical behavior therapy can help you learn how to regulate painful emotions and manage the interpersonal situations that generate them. This method is often used during substance use treatment in Massachusetts to help you develop better coping skills and avoid relapse.

Group therapy is a safe space for participants to share their stories and experiences within a confidential and judgment free environment. You have the opportunity to openly discuss your difficulties and create a network of community support that can extend long after group therapy sessions end.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Four principles are key to motivational interviewing in Massachusetts. First, the therapist offers empathy for the client's feelings and experiences. Second, they encourage the client to believe in themselves and their ability to change. Third, the therapist refrains from imposing their own viewpoints. Lastly, the therapist helps the client identify discrepancies in their circumstances and future goals.

Trauma therapy addresses the psychological impact of experiencing a traumatic event. You can also experience mental and emotional injury after witnessing a trauma. By identifying what triggers those responses and developing effective coping mechanisms, you can rebuild a sense of safety and trust in your environment.

Couples therapy in Massachusetts is a short term therapy designed to equip you both with the skills you need to address conflicts and challenges in your relationship. During sessions, your counselor may meet with you individually and together.

The life skills you'll learn in rehab range from financial management to practicing healthy self care. They help you learn how to solve problems and make decisions, as well as develop healthy interpersonal relationships – all of which are key to successful recovery.

There is a strong link between nutrition and addiction. That's why drug rehab in Massachusetts includes nutrition therapy to teach you healthy eating habits that support addiction recovery. You'll learn what foods your body needs for healing and long term health.

Recreational therapy helps you as you recover from drug and alcohol addiction in Massachusetts by giving you structured activities to improve your physical and mental health. By participating in sports, creative arts, or nature activities, you have a positive outlet for emotions and stress that may have otherwise triggered alcohol or drug use. This helps to foster a healthy sober lifestyle.

If you find it difficult to put thoughts and feelings into words, creative arts therapy in Massachusetts might be a good treatment method for you. Through art, music, and other expressive activities, this therapy allows you to explore and convey thoughts and emotions in a safe, creative space.

I ve been working with a licensed therapist and prescriber for a few years now, my experience with Dana Group has been smooth and responsive. The receptionists are very kind and approachable, whenever I go into the office, it s clean, confidential and easily accessible. My therapist and I are a good fit and I can communicate with her easily. I don t have any negatives to be honest, they are lenient with the cancellation policy as well, there a little bit a reasonable grace.

Everything about this place from the front office to the physiatrists is infuriatingly substandard. It's pulling teeth trying to get through the billing and scheduling part of the process, and then you get matched up with frankly a bad psychiatrist. I could not trust mine at all from a medication standpoint, and I dreaded having to talk to her every month. I have never had a bad relationship at all with any therapist or psychiatrist except for her.She made me feel completely unheard and made me so frustrated in how she talked to me sometimes, and then when I showed any frustration at all, she would play the victim and threaten to kick me out for being "abusive" when I absolutely wasn't. Just baffling behavior, like she was on a power trip. How about learning to comfort and defuse a situation?

The CEO does not hold his staff accountable. He promises accommodations and then when you ask the staff to follow through they say no. When you tell him he does not care. Miguel the CEO should lose his job. Every month I have to go without my medications and he does not care. I have ended up in the emergency room because I didn't have my meds and they refused to even talk to me when I was there in person. Absolutely abhorrent treatment and care.they keep sending me bills I. The maul whe. I don't have a copay. They bill ne for being a no show when it was the dr that didn't call. I am 95% sure this is a scam and will be reporting it to the appropriate government agencies.Update:now I have left a review they care. They didn't when I called the day after I was in the emergency room to tell them what happened. They told me and my ACCS staff member that they had to go to a meeting and weren't going to do anything about it. So if they really cared about their clients they would do something before they customer takes it public. My therapist through dana group asked the med side if they would be willing to be super dependable, let me have a routine appointment. They told me I was being unreasonable and they do not expect their staff to do that. Im sorry what? You don't require your staff to be dependable?I was dropped because of this review and wanting them to follow through on what they told me. They just called asking if I wanted to make a final appointment with them. No mention of the other doctor thatDDr. Broker-sen said she was refering me to in the practice. They do not make their staff take care of their customers.

Stay away!!! They are very unprofessional. My daughter 19 years old urgently needed a psychiatrist. She met with Meg Saltzman for the intake. Meg needed to do a follow up call to PCP. 10 days later we realize we have been ghosted. Daughter severely struggled and was in crisis. Terrible just terrible. Stay away!

Dana Group Associates has been a lifesaver. I would highly recommend this place for anyone struggling with mental health issues. I have been a patient of Dana Group for over 5 years. I have been to countless behavioral health offices, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and social workers in the area. I can state unequivocally that Dana Group is one of the best offices in Massachusetts. Their patient communication and medication services are second to none. Lisa Napoli, my psychiatric nurse practitioner, is one of the most caring individuals I have ever met. You can tell she loves her job. She has helped make my life a lot easier. Whether you have never had therapy, or have been through many different therapists, you will not regret reaching out to Dana Group, and more specifically Lisa Napoli. Reach out like I did, it could change your life.

Loved my therapist but cancelled because the billing group/receptionist mischarged my copay for months and would not get back to me on assistance until I escalated the situation. Once they sorted their issue out, they proceeded to beck charge me for all the weeks missed and told me regardless of their mistake that I needed to pay promptly. I had to remove my card off file because of double charges and had an agreement to pay manually, but they took it upon themselves to utilize my card info this last week to charge my balance despite me paying as I went due to financial issues. I am now trying to sort out how to pay my other bills because of this and they do not care to comment or get back. Transaction was reported to the bank as fraud.

I've been having trouble with getting a hold of anyone in the clinical department. I left a message, got a voice-mail back and then left another. I ended up missing my prescription because I wasn't assigned any new prescribers in time. For a clinic that works with people with anxiety disorders, Major depressive disorders, suicidal ideation, ADHD and similar conditions, it's shocking how much they just...don't care enough to reach out over the bare minimum. When I did call and get an actual person, the receptionist was incredibly defensive and extremely rude, saying they left a voice mail "a few weeks ago" when it was 2 and I left another after that following Monday trying to reach them again. She rushed me through the process and spoke to me like she hated her job and every patient in it. Additionally I'm curious that if I hadn't followed up, would they have just never given me a new prescriber? If you rely on any type of meds for your mental wellbeing/ to keep you alive - find a different source. This place does not give a single care about you.
