All around GREAT staff! First time going into detox, I was very stressed and scared! From the time I called admissions to when they returned my call and set up a pick up time, everything went so smooth. As for admissions, it was a little long but once I got up to my room, I was treated very kindly. They definitely made sure I was comfortable and gave me enough time to feel better before getting into group activities. Once I started going to groups, my counselor Timmy was the best part of my recovery. I even told him while I was there that his kind words and how he conducted groups just helped me and made me see a different way of life. He believed in me when I didn t believe in myself and gave me the daily kick in the butt even when I wasn t in the mood or too tired for groups! Your help and dedication will always mean so much to me!! Today marks my two months of being sober and I have to thank the whole Adcare team for being a part of my journey, I am now doing Great, life is better and also got a promotion at work. Since I started going here about 4 years ago I got a great therapist named Justin Mertz. We hit it off on day one and had a great professional relationship up to his untimely death. I was assigned a new therapist named Lindsay Fox. Her and I hit it off great. Lindsay and I are working hard on my care just like I had with Justin. We do a 50/50 conversation. Also I had very good interactions with the Nurse Practitioners at New Beginnings. They all are great and good resources for psychiatric medications. Thank you all at New Beginnings. I've been at Merrick Street for nearly a year, and my experince has been truly amazing. Spectrum staff members are caring, well-educated and passionate about helping each client on an individual basis. The level of care far exceeds that of other programs. I started my 'journey' at Sisters of Providence in Holyoke, and (apart from my clinician -- who was amazing!), it felt like conveyor-belt-style care. Now, that was a 2-hour round-trip commute every morning, but Information about Spectrum (20 minutes away) was hidden from me (despite my inquiries) for months because it was a separate organization and they likely didn't want to lose me as a paycheck -- I mean patient.Spectrum is the total opposite. It has changed my life. I wasted years fearing a program, and the stigma attached. But I realized-- since I was already dealing with the stigma of having fibromyalgia and chronic pain, it made no difference, and I needed to try -- for me. Since entering, I have met so many incredible people, shared and heard many incredible stories, and in a way, I am proud to be part of something so positive.

Every time I come here I am treated with respect and with kindness. I actually learned how to celebrate the small stuff with the office/lab staff here, outside of the doctors! Doctors/Counselors...I find them very helpful as well. I quite like that I am heard and in charge of my own plan. They work on what I want to work on; not forcing an agenda. The staff at Grace house helped my daughter and family start over. I don't think I'll ever fully understand how my family got to where it was before Grace House. Instead of pointing fingers and casting blame the staff helped us move forward together. Everyday my daughter was away was difficult for all of us but needed if I didn't want to risk losing her forever. When I first dropped off my daughter she wouldn't speak to me and I cried the whole way home. She wouldn't speak to me for the first 3 weeks she was there I was super grateful to her clinician who I spoke to almost everyday that first month to check in on how she was doing. Family therapy was more helpful than I ever thought it would be. A million thank yous to Grace House.

I'm not sure people understand the difficulties with making a program like this work. You have lots of mentally disabled people giving one star because they can't color the picture they want or couldn't speak with their med doc right this very second. Considering the constraints and low pay the clinicians go through to just try to help people, the added digital slaps aren't really necessary. I've had no issues and have had no complaints in dealing with Dan or the staff here.

Hands down this program saved my child's life...... I could go on and on about all of the staff and how amazing they are very caring and professional ! I am an overbearing mom who needs to have the answers, I call.10 times a day to check on my child.And never once did I ever feel like I was being pushed to the side because I can get annoying.... MWC offers great services. My counselor helped me find a psychiatrist, and they were able to provide me with the proper treatment. I am doing much better by the day, and the staff really cares about the wellbeing of the patients. If you have problems, they will hear you out. If you have suggestions, they will hear you out. If you don't feel comfortable with a counselor, they also help you transition to one that better suits your situation. Therapy is an ongoing process, but they truly care to make their patients feel safe and healthy. I have recommended this practice to a couple of friends.
