About Clear Behavioral Health – Residential Treatment

Clear Behavioral Health provides drug rehab services to adults living around Redondo Beach, California. They also offer programs for teens, but only at the outpatient, intensive outpatient (IOP), and partial hospitalization program levels. Here we’ll be focusing on their residential, or inpatient (IP), program, which only serves adults. They have a very beautiful facility, and their program takes most commercial insurances, such as Anthem, Aetna, and TRICARE.

This clinic offers mental health treatment in addition to their drug and alcohol misuse treatment. That would make this a dual diagnosis center, since they treat co-occurring conditions. These can include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.

They also offer detox services in case you need to get sober before even considering entering their program. They can really help, though, especially since they offer medication assisted treatment (MAT). Some medications like Suboxone and Vivitrol can cause a great positive impact with certain dangerous withdrawal symptoms and cravings by lessening their effect.

This clinic also offers medication management and case management services, as well as counseling options. They also follow the guidelines of the 12 Step Program.

Their counseling options include individual therapy, group therapy, and some more holistic options. These holistic options are always my favorite, since it makes the recovery process a lot more fun and relaxing. These include yoga, meditation, mindfulness practices, sound baths, and more. All of these therapy options can help you by teaching you new coping techniques, learning to identify triggers, and helping you confront past traumas to help you grow.

If you wanna know anything about this program start with this, they removed my review from 10 days ago somehow, after a staff member tried to fight me as I was attempting to gather my things on the sidewalk after the kicked me out for disrespecting staff when in reality I just wasn t putting up with their lack of care and unwillingness to help me and they didn t like how I responded and reacted ( keep in mind this was my first 1-6 days sober, on top of giving me a case manager who id previously been a client with. The staff are completely unprofessional and unfit for the job, clients are a burden to them and clear has become a money hungry monopoly in the South Bay (sold this year to a private equity company). I worked for clear 2 years ago and it was completely different. No clue what changed and it s terribly sad. Hope this review isn t deleted as well

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Clients receiving treatment at an outpatient rehab typically do not require hospitalization or intensive supervision and support. Outpatient addiction counseling and recovery education are often offered during the morning, evening, night, and weekend, allowing clients to tailor treatment to their own schedule. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are the most time-intensive and are designed for clients who are at an increased relapse risk and/or who need more robust therapeutic support.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) support a client's sustained sobriety as they exit detox or step down from an inpatient program. IOPs are also designed for clients who are at an elevated risk of relapse. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in a minimum of nine hours of therapy per week, but clients may receive up to 20 therapeutic hours weekly. IOP treatment modalities often combine psychotherapy, recovery-focused life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
When an individual is in denial about their substance use disorder, their loved ones may organize a drug intervention in California. This effort involves gently but assertively confronting the individual about their substance use and sharing how it has affected those who care about them. A professional interventionist may also attend this gathering. Their expertise with intervention services can prove helpful in guiding the conversation to a positive result.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
When addicted, quitting your drug of choice suddenly can be dangerous. That's why experts agree a medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from the body. Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program

They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.

Clinical Services

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Trauma therapy is a structured approach used by therapists to help you heal from a past traumatic event. Your therapist works with you to identify the traumatic memory and process the information so you experience emotional healing and a sense of safety and stability.

I was sent into detox with a negative test on all accounts. Including my DOC alcohol on the day of admission and arriving with a treatable tooth infection. That was not being managed on time l. They cleared me to go to residential complicating the process however by only allowing me to stay in residential for a few hours and then putting me back into Detox. It makes no sense whatsoever. In fact they violated me while I was naked in the restroom a few times by opening the door on me and giving me uncomfortable body searches despite my ptsd. They had no shame in that. These people are shady and a creepy place. I recommend anyone to steer far away from them or else they will tell you you need higher level of care unlike is otherwise recommended by respectable places.

If your loved one has chronic relapses with severe withdrawals that may require a hospital evaluation or is unsteady and detoxing at the time of intake and admission, this is NOT the place for them. If they have a disability or need accommodation, this place doesn't want to be bothered. My loved one went through the intake process and all medical history was given to them and she was admitted. The first day she was sent to the hospital because she was severely lethargic and fatigued and they were concerned about overdose. Of course, the addict is going through physical withdrawals from detox. She was released from the hospital and was cleared to go back. Day 2, the facility calls me again because she was unsteady again. She goes to the hospital again and was stabilized and cleared to be discharged. (They sent her to the hospital alone). I call the facility and a woman who told me she didn't know what was going on with her case because she just got there and just got back from vacation. She placed me on hold and told me she wasn't allowed to return there because she needed a higher level of care. No other explanation and hung up. I was left in shock and awe. It was 8:00 PM, she was left stranded and discharged at the hospital and I was 2 hours away. This place doesn't want to be bothered with the maintenance of chronic residents with severe withdrawals. They didn't even offer to assist in picking her up and sending her back home. I had to drive 2 hours to pick her personal belongings at their detox residency then go and pick her up from the hospital. We made it back home the next morning. Think twice before sending a loved one here.

I cannot say enough good things about Clear. It has been over 6 months of sobriety now, and I know that Clear provided me with the foundation I needed to stack this many days. I still make my bed everyday like i did at Clear. It sounds kind of funny, but that micro program done dailey has turned into a morning routine of making my bed, meditating, praying, and writing and sending gratitude lists almost every morning. Also things I learned at Clear. That, along with getting into the AA book, sound baths, and just being with a group of people that were dealing with a common issue all combined with the fantastic, supportive staff at Clear to get me where I am now - continuing dailey repreves, clearing the wreckage of my past, and being happier and healthier. Thank you Clear! P.S. Love ya Blake (songbird of our generation)
