About Beachway Therapy Center

Beachway Therapy Center is located in West Palm Beach, Florida on N Dixie Highway only a few minutes from Lake Worth Lagoon. The center offers treatment for substance use disorders and mental health disorders (dual diagnosis). The facility has accreditation from the Joint Commission and is a member of the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers. The center accepts a plethora of insurance options. If you’re in the military, they also take TRICARE.

They have both inpatient and outpatient rehab programs. The initial phase of your treatment is detox. You’ll receive medical monitoring and 24 hour nursing care. This phase can take a few days or a few weeks as the toxins leave your body. It may or may not include medication depending on your unique situation.

The residential program includes intensive therapy with a holistic approach. You’ll have access to evidence based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). They offer yoga, art, and music therapy as well as trauma therapy and family sessions.

The partial hospitalization program (PHP) gives you structured daytime treatment, but you can return home in the evening. They also offer an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and outpatient services to help you with support for sustained success in your recovery.

The center also offers a Christian rehab program incorporating Biblical principles along with evidence based therapies. There are Bible studies and faith centered group discussions along with spiritual guidance.

Most of their patients with substance use disorder have other mental health issues. All of the programs put your mental health at the center of your recovery. Former patients mentioned how thankful they were to learn the tools they needed to move forward in their lives while living a sober lifestyle.

I just think it s humiliating how they read a impact letter from your significant other in front of a group of people and then they judge you for the thing your family member wrote about you. That is not helpful. They shut you out from your family members and friends but encourage you to find a community at the center then tell you you can t spend time with that community because you can t have dependency behavior. In all honesty, would not recommend. You are better off going to therapy more often.

Accepted Insurance

Beachway Therapy Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs encompass multiple levels of care to facilitate clients' progress through their recovery journey. Clients who are stepping down from inpatient treatment may require intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment, which involves more frequent and substantive therapeutic interventions than does standard outpatient care. Outpatient centers typically provide extensive addiction counseling, including individual, group, and family therapy. Medication assisted treatment programs (MAT) and recovery-focused life skills training are also common in outpatient care.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients typically choose inpatient rehab when they are in early recovery or are experiencing a crisis that puts them at an increased risk of relapse. They reside at the treatment center for the length of their program, which may range from two weeks to more than 18 months, depending on the program design. Intensive psychotherapy is often the primary treatment modality, but clients in inpatient care may also receive holistic treatment and recovery-focused life skills training.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs offer regular group therapy sessions, which are led by trained professionals. These therapy sessions are available to cover a variety of topics, addictions, and stages of recovery. These topics can include developing processes to help manage emotions and stressors, understanding “trigger” feelings and situations which may lead to abuse, money management strategies and planning, and how to adapt to unfamiliar and stressful situations.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Often referred to as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers an intensive treatment option that allows individuals to return home at night. PHP treatment typically requires a minimum of 20 hours a week for an average of 90 days. Participants attend daily therapeutic sessions, receive medication management, and have access to skilled medical professionals. While costs can vary, most insurance will fully or partially cover a partial hospitalization program.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in Florida is an essential part of treatment, particularly with medical detox. Withdrawal symptoms can be severe, and supervised detox provides around the clock access to medical professionals who can adminsiter proper medications and treatment to address these symptoms and step in should an emergency occur. This intensive clinical care will help curb the withdrawal effects, minimize substance dependence, and prepare you for the next step of treatment.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
A drug detox is the physical and emotional process of overcoming a dependence on an addictive substance and learning to live a clean life that’s free of that dependence. At drug treatment and detox rehab centers in Florida like Beachway, they focus on clean living, supportive environments, personalized therapy, and life-skills learning that will provide clients with a strong foundation to live a happy and healthy life that’s drug-free, independent, and productive. Beachway’s drug detox programs provide counseling, medical treatment, and knowledgeable staff. This combination of services makes the detox process as stress-free and comfortable as possible, making it easier for clients to break the cycle of addiction.

Treatments

Beachway goes beyond the 12 Steps. They match every individual with a therapy team and customized treatment plan that can include the Alcoholics Anonymous 12-Step Program and other therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), group therapy, individual therapy and other modalities. There’s no one-size-fits-all alcohol treatment program, which is why we provide a variety of proven, interactive therapies that include services such as therapeutic excursions, equine therapy, yoga, art therapy and full spa services.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

When clients are facing mental health and substance abuse issues, they can feel trapped by addiction and its rollercoaster. Recovering from alcohol or drug dependence is a complex journey that also requires addressing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD and other mental health concerns.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.

Clinical Services

Therapists who apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida believe patient thoughts and behaviors are closely linked. They use this treatment method to help clients change their thought patterns so they can also change behaviors and break free from substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Florida consists of individual therapy and group instruction. This structured program is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the development of skills for managing emotions and relationships.

The use of horses as part of a therapeutic treatment can help people achieve growth in their emotional and personal lives, particularly if their priorities have become unclear. When used as part of a substance abuse program, equine therapy for addiction can provide significant benefits to some individuals.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Drugs and alcohol impact the system differently. Although one thing is true: people who abuse substances such as alcohol and drugs are malnourished. Buyer Beware! I , like many of you likely, found Beachway through a Google search when my daughter was in a significant crisis of mental heath and drug abuse. The reviews and online photos are compelling. The reality is a bit different. First of all, there is nothing luxury about it. The photos online are very deceptive. The facilities are adequate, but certainly not luxury. You won t participate in any of the off- campus activities until you have been there at least a month. I was told the patient census was 40-45, but it s more like 70. I will give credit to the quality of programs and therapists, but you may see your therapist only once a week. And you may or may not see an actual psychiatrist; certainly not often. My daughter was asked to leave after an altercation with one of the other patients. That is not unreasonable, but what is unreasonable is that I wasn t reimbursed for the prorated amount of daily fees I paid upfront as a cash paying customer. And no, I wasn t made aware of that possibility upfront as they suggest. I signed a waiver the day after admission, after my daughter was admitted and I was back home, in another state. Do yourself a favor and research FHE Health. They do it right.

I m sure it sounds so clich to say Beachway Therapy Center changed my life but Beachway did just that.I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone who is interested in recovery and wants to change their life forever. When I went to Beachway I was feeling hopeless, lost and desperate. I worked on my postpartum depression (which I didn t even realize I had) and drug addiction. I walked out of there just feeling like a whole different person; I am now a strong, confident and resilient woman. Some of the staff are in recovery with a lot of clean time which really helped me feel understood and it was an unexpected plus. The techs are so supportive and helpful. They were so personal, caring, and attentive to all of my needs. The clinical staff are experienced, knowledgeable and genuinely empathetic. I mean my therapist told me things about myself that I knew subconsciously but never thought about.Their trama program is phenomenal. I learned how to show up for myself so I can meet most of my baby s needs and break the cycle of generational trauma. The medical staff helped me through a really bad detox and kept me as comfortable as possible. The doctors just knew all the right questions to ask and gave me exactly what I needed for all of my symptoms. The food is a 10 out of 10 and the kitchen staff were so accommodating to my dietary needs.Oh there s more my family even received therapy not only to help me but to help them. There s a family therapist that met with my family weekly and not only supported them but also educated them so they could better understand me. They received the help and therapy they needed because addiction affects everyone in our life. Beachway literally fixed the disorganized and triggering relationship I had with my parents.I mean if you want me to keep going lol the entire campus is beautiful and clean. The community was so welcoming and kind to me. I always felt safe and heard, never judged. I had my own space which made all the difference. I had my own room while in detox and I had my own one bedroom apartment while in PHP. There s even a masseuse, chiropractor, and acupuncturist who came by once or twice weekly.

Beachway saved my life. While my strength was tested, the entire team there was committed to my recovery journey. I am incredibly grateful. I was there for 75 days for dual diagnosis and severe PTSD. I am still doing the work but BW helped me find the path. The therapy team is so skilled! I looked at a lot of therapy centers and am forever thankful I went to Beachway.

I can not begin to explain what Beachway did for my life outside of saving it.What I want to say is that I am recent client spending over 65 days from in-patient to PHP to IOP. With this I completed over 7 weeks of what I consider is the absolute best Trama program that exists in the United States.Beachway is absolutely committed to the best kept facilities to best food with an absolutely amazing culinary team and also rooms to houses to apartments that absolutely allow you to concentrate on your journey of mental health to substance abuse. The Tech team is second to none. They are more than just staff they are there when a day goes bad to when you just need to talk. The clinical team at Beachway is something that saved my life and many others during my stay. Each class is designed to maximize lessons to personal journeys you take. The caseload groups allow you to share with what will become your family and allow you to feel that safety we all need to feel. The therapist at Beachway are what I consider to be the best well rounded staff I was blessed to get to know. Each one is friendly and always had the time talk and listen when you need them.I wish I could talk to everyone who reads this review cause there is so much more I could add to this story. All I know is at my darkest hour I was blessed to walk into beachway, and 65 days later and onto my next IOP step two in life they saved mine and treated me every day with dignity and respect. Do yourself a favor and allow beachway to meet you where you at and save your life also.

Just know going in that you will lose all autonomy and the staff will treat you like a child. I was not prepared for this. Your phone is taken upon admission and your therapist is the only one who can give you permission to use it. You will be insulted and humiliated in some groups. I don' t think there is a good choice out there, but look around and ask a lot of questions before you commit. They also talk to your family and may tell them some untruths. You will be told that you are in a mental institution. I thought I was in an unlocked facility center to get a diagnosis on my mental health. Be careful.

Response from the owner3 months ago
Hi Darleen, Thank you for sharing your experience. We're truly sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. Our goal is to provide a supportive and respectful environment for all our clients. We understand that the loss of autonomy and phone restrictions can be challenging, and we appreciate your feedback on this matter. These policies are in place to ensure a focus on treatment and recovery, but we recognize the importance of balancing these measures with respect for our clients' needs. Regarding your concerns about group sessions and communication with families, we take these matters very seriously. We strive to foster a safe and respectful atmosphere, and your feedback will help us review and improve our practices. We're committed to transparency and honesty in all our interactions, and we regret any distress caused by miscommunications or misunderstandings. We encourage anyone looking to admit into a treatment program to ask questions and gather all necessary information before making a decision. Thank you again for your feedback. We wish you all the best in your continued journey toward mental health and well-being.
