Avery Lane was a safe, positive and welcoming atmosphere to rehabilitate and learn new tools to use to sustain my sobriety. They use evidence based, modern modalities to treat clients and the staff are amazing and genuine. In addition, there facilities (which are upscale residential houses in Novato) are incredibly nice and clean. I felt like I was on vacation at a resort most of the time. These houses are worth millions and the pools and the amenities were top notch. Food is great and therapists were great. Nurses and techs included! Most of all they ensured continuity of my care and recovery moving forward after completing their program. After initially going to Bayside, Marin, I found Bayside to be too cooperate, basing their client treatment in favoritism and here-say, and rigorous to a flaw (overstimulating and exhausting when you re in post acute withdrawal). It was very stressful at Bayside Marin to complete hefty homework assignments by deadlines in order to have rights such as visitation. Meanwhile Avery Lane practiced common sense and understanding and ensured their care was patient centered. My experience there was life changing. And I might (someday) apply to work their as an RN myself because the culture is so positive and full of supportive women.

Accepted Insurance

Avery Lane For Women works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Clients receiving treatment at an outpatient rehab typically do not require hospitalization or intensive supervision and support. Outpatient addiction counseling and recovery education are often offered during the morning, evening, night, and weekend, allowing clients to tailor treatment to their own schedule. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are the most time-intensive and are designed for clients who are at an increased relapse risk and/or who need more robust therapeutic support.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) support a client's sustained sobriety as they exit detox or step down from an inpatient program. IOPs are also designed for clients who are at an elevated risk of relapse. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in a minimum of nine hours of therapy per week, but clients may receive up to 20 therapeutic hours weekly. IOP treatment modalities often combine psychotherapy, recovery-focused life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is an intensive form of outpatient treatment where clients meet during the day and return home in the evening. PHP treatment doesn't require 24-hour care and often serves as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or a step-down after a residential program. With PHP treatment, you can receive daily support for 6 to 8 hours which includes evidence-based therapies and medication management. The cost of PHP treatment typically varies but averages 90 days.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
When addicted, quitting your drug of choice suddenly can be dangerous. That's why experts agree a medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from the body. Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Equine therapy, aka equine-assisted therapy (EAT), is a form of experiential therapy that involves interactions and activities with horses. It does not necessarily involve riding horses, but all activities related to horses, such as feeding, grooming, haltering and leading them. A mental health professional frequently oversees the activities (often in conjunction with a horse professional), and helps patients process their thoughts, feelings, and behavior patterns during and/or after the interaction.

I have personally sent friends and family to Avery Lane. Camille, Adrianna, and the whole team there are absolutely phenomenal. When it comes to women's treatment especially for trauma and addiction, they are by far the best place. Avery Lane is an incredible recovery program utilized for women recovering from issues regarding either substance use, mental health, of both. The Psychology Education curriculum also implements complex-PTSD, which I believe is such a critical factor in contributors of substance use motives. The environment and care Avery Lane provides is very kind, warm, and intentional towards the client's health and development to sobriety and rehabilitation. The policies implemented are well regulated and set reasonably to ensure sobriety is maintained safely within a healthily secluded, beautiful, and easygoing location. The food is absolutely incredible and the chefs are outgoing, generous, and wonderful. The medical staff and recovery counselors are collectively incredible, hardworking, determined, heartfelt, authentic, innovative, adaptable, professional, and wholeheartedly supportive. Avery Lane is the utmost top recommendation for women seeking to give their all in their own recovery and receive the best in return. Avery Lane is the program that delivers critical, long-lasting results for long-term recovery.

Avery Lane tied it all together. Although, I completed over 10 years of treatment in the VA healthcare system for CPTSD and co-occurring substance use disorder, this past year s grief after losing my son and father I found me in and out of three other civilian inpatient programs across the country - intermittently sober and still in immense psychological pain. By providing a rare level of safety, emotional intelligence and profound nurturing due to the ALL FEMALE SETTING, Avery Lane provided the one thing that made all the difference. Every physician, case worker, therapist, group leader, residential tech and even cleaning staff is female. I truly hadn t known half of my ptsd symptoms (i.e. chronic muscle tension, clenching my jaw and hypervigilance (hyperawareness) chronic fatigue and irregular sleep patterns) were influenced by the subtle presence of males during treatment until I felt my self truly relax into an environment that quickly and deservedly earned my trust in facing my deepest emotional and psychological injuries. Working with female staff that modeled strength, kindness and wisdom, for the first time in decades, I felt heard, validated, understood and respected - all brand-new experiences for me in every other male inclusive therapeutic setting. I didn t need to convince anyone of the effects of developmental and acute trauma on my life or that they happened or that they weren t my fault and how drugs and alcohol had become the only place I had left to hide and now even that was tearing apart what remained of my life. Not only did they help me understand how I got to that point, as only women can, they nourished me back to health in the 90 days I spent in beautiful settings with amazing food and what became a small close knit group of women with whom to share our experience strength and hope. I m now in PHP and living in a beautiful top notch sle of all women through Full Circle to practice my new skills in yet another all-female sober environment with fantastic gentle accountability built in. I am the first Female Army Veteran to attend Avery Lane under Veterans Administration funding. I can say without a shred of doubt that the healing that took place at Avery Lane cannot be found at any other facility. It understands and deliberately practices a exquisite trauma informed curriculum, environment and therapy. I truly couldn t imagine how centered, poised and serene id feel after treatment. There isn t any other program I d recommend for women suffering from any form of trauma, mental health and/or any addiction.

I had to ask for list what to bring 3+ times to email me, never received, was the 1st sign this place isn't going to help me. No one is consistent of what's going on, what to expect. Staff member Aloha doesn't care about clients comfort, night time house was cold despite warm pj's, no one cared. Food pretty bad, and I'm not a picky eater. Clients were leaving from poor management when I arrived, then staff were getting let go. One client was allowed to haunt others with VooDoo, it went from bad to worse. Not helpful in my recovery, actually felt tormented and traumatized from staff are not interested in me nor the other clients. If I could rate it a zero, I would. One week being there set me backwards, had to process their disruption in a hurry while in search of another residential program for me. Pretty painful to know places like this are still in business for those who are in search of help. Horrible frightening experience.
