About White Deer Run Of York

The goal of White Deer Run of York is to empower women who struggle with addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions. This facility is located in York, Pennsylvania. They provide a wide range of services tailored to women 18 years of age and older who need assistance on the road to recovery.

Patients can select from individualized treatment plans that include detox, inpatient, outpatient, and co-occurring disorder specialty care after being admitted to their residential treatment facility that has 24 beds. Each program is supported by a multidisciplinary team of behavioral health professionals including doctors, counselors, therapists, and others. Through this collaborative support system women receive individualized care tailored to their unique needs.

The substances that their detox program focuses on include benzodiazepines, alcohol, and opiates. Continuing medical care from licensed professionals throughout the typical five-day stay ensures a seamless and secure transition for clients into the recuperation process. Clients can start addressing the underlying issues associated with addiction by participating in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychoeducational groups, and crisis counseling.

Group therapy sessions that emphasize relapse prevention facilitate the sharing of experiences, help clients develop coping mechanisms, and foster a sense of community among participants. When clients advance to the residential rehab stage they participate in structured programming that runs seven days a week. They recognize the vital role loved ones play in the healing process, and they’ll include appropriate family therapy sessions.

The facility highlights how important aftercare planning is acknowledging that recovery is a lifetime process. A case manager collaborates with each client to create a personalized support plan that could involve other community resources or intensive outpatient programming.

By providing individualized care they aim to give women the resources they need to maintain sobriety and enhance their overall health. The knowledgeable and caring staff is dedicated to supporting you during every stage of treatment if you’re prepared to make the brave decision to begin your journey toward recovery.

My fiance is a p patient there. It takes five to eight times for someone to answer the phone. They will not give you any information. The people are extremely rude. Getting information to try to be prepared to help your loved one when they leave there is like trying to get information from a concentration camp. How can we on the street be prepared to help if we can't get any information on how to help. This is worse than the pa doc. As an add on . I was asked to reply to their email to discuss this further and surprise no one answered my email. After 28 days you would think that a trained staff and counselors ( Katie is a joke ) would have a viable treatment plan and her after care in place but that hasn't happened. How are you to be support for someone you love when they leave the rehab if you are not included in their in house care. But the bottom line is the longer they stay the more the insurance company pays. So after a week of them asking me to reply to their feedback email , which I did thee times I have never received a response. Now they are either incompetent or too ignorant to answer a few simple questions. So these are the people we are entrusting our loved ones to. They evidently don't care about the after care on the street or they would take the time to answer very basic ,, simple questions. So again it is about how much money they can milk from the insurance company and not the welfare if their patients. Why would I send anything to your feedback email. When I have done so numerous times and all you do is ignore them and refuse to answer the issues. If you would like to help with these issues ,my phone number is on file under an emergency contact. I have contacted the offices of the ACLU this morning about withholding basic information and contact with a patient there. I have sent 8 emails to your feedback . No one will answer so I will take legal action . Thank you have a nice day

So my fiance happens to be in the facility in York I've been contacting the facility for the past 48 hours due to some legal matters that need to resolve in the state of Maryland for my fiance And these were time sensitive issues they have failed to tell her and respond of these issues this facility is poorly managed the phone just rings and rings . they don't return calls when you give the messages ,I let emails and voicemails with no return call . I do not recommend this facility they have counselors who come right out from working at Rutter's and make these decisions for people's lives,,, they're obviously not capable of handling this. They want to quarantine the person off from the outside world ..It's all well and good when you want to shield them on the inside. but how are they supposed to handle reality in the world when they're not exposed to it... I think the need to reevaluate their structure in the criteria and how it's handled, You're technically trying to be responsible with people's lives and are not doing a very good job, they promised counseling as a family which has never happened The goals they set never comes in fruition, and readily discharge people when the insurance is no longer available.. this place is literally a joke

Accepted Insurance

White Deer Run Of York works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab provides clients with an opportunity to focus solely on their sobriety away from the stressors of the home and workplace. Clients receive housing, food, and intensive clinical supervision. They also typically engage in multiple addiction counseling sessions each week, including daily individual, group, and/or family sessions. Most programs also prioritize recovery-focused life skills training, including courses in relapse prevention. Many facilities offer evidence-based holistic therapies, such as yoga and meditation.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients receiving services from a rehab aftercare program are usually stable and in the maintenance phase of recovery, having completed detox and/or intensive inpatient treatment. Rehab aftercare services can vary widely based on clients' individual and evolving needs, but often include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, 12 step program induction, and medical, mental health, and social service referrals. Individual care plans are typically developed by the client in partnership with their case manager and care team.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
Because the severity of withdrawal symptoms can fluctuate, constant monitoring under 24-hour clinical care in Pennsylvania is recommended for early recovery. As you undergo detox, medical staff will supervise your health and ensure severe symptoms do not develop or threaten your life. Professional counselors will also be available to treat mental and emotional health needs.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Groups are a fundamental component of treatment at White Deer Run of Allenwood. Six structured activity groups are offered each day, seven days per week, while small groups and mental health groups are offered four times per week. Groups provide a chance for individuals to support and be supported by others while learning from each other’s experiences. Structured activity groups are led by technicians, case managers, and counselors, and the small groups and mental health groups are led by a counselor.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Tenisha is a great leader and knows how to run a facility and I wish her nothing but the best, However on the other hand, Erica (the counselor) needs to go cause she has no personality or people skills at all and it s not becoming to tell clients that she does not make enough to Council them in Trauma! I wanna acknowledge Ariel the house director who is phenomenal has a great future in saving life. Keep doing what you re doing.

I just recently completed treatment here a few days ago, and they discharged me without any of my aftercare information and forgot to give me (and the other girl that also completed) our certificates which I needed for court. The BHAs are really nice, but they lost about $300 worth of my belongings and made no effort to replace or refund anything. I was told by another patient that the program director Kelly used to own a practice with her husband, but he was caught funneling money out of it. I hope that's not true, but there were several patients in there that told me their detox days magically got extended even after they were told they were in rehab, which costs the insurance companies an extra $100-300 a day. They shouldn't be billing our insurance companies for anything extra. I feel bad saying that because overall my experience was pretty good, the food was good, the girls were cool, and most of the groups were great. But it's not OK that belongings go missing and insurance companies are getting overcharged...

My daughter went here to get detox treatment. They helped her get free from heroin to make her a prescription junkie. Now she is using 5 different medications that she has never used before. .after 30 days they kicked her to the curb with no where to go. How can you call this a rehab when they get you addicted to legal drugs. What a joke

I loved it here. It s now an all female facility and it s great. the community is great and the BHA s are even better. Nurse Connor is great, she s the best around. I cried when it was time to leave this was about 10 days ago. Shauna, Jaden, and Connor were definitely my favorite staff members.. they treat you like family.

not a great place. i spent one night here and it was atrocious, my room was sweltering hot and the bed was very tiny. i was in crisis when i arrived here completely in full-blown withdrawal from fentanyl and it took almost 3 hours for them to do my intake (which i almost left in the middle of to go to the ER instead) and i was literally forgotten about in the lobby on a couch writhing and crying in pain. they were confused as to who i was... lol. this place is nothing but miscommunications and staff that do not care about you whatsoever. the only person who showed any type of compassion towards me was the clinical director ... i had to continuously advocate for myself and ask the "nurses" several times over and over to take my urine cup, to give me comfort meds, because they would say "come back in 5 minutes" or just tell me they would and never did so i had to keep going back and back up to them. and they also lied about when the doctor was going to show up just so that i wouldn't leave. fortunately i found out i was pregnant the next day and got to leave and detox at the hospital instead (which was very easy and i was actually attended to). White deer run does not care about you. this is the place they send you if you only have medicaid or bad insurance.. you are better off detoxing at home than this place.
