About Wasatch Crest Treatment Services

Wasatch Crest Treatment Center is located in Heber City, Utah, and provides treatment to men and women who are living with a range of drug dependencies or an alcohol disorder. Care is provided through inpatient treatment programs, intensive outpatient care, and available aftercare support.

This facility understands the complexities of the different addictions individuals may be navigating and has tailored programs to meet that need. The inpatient program includes 30-, 60-, or 90-day stays. There is also a day treatment program if you need greater flexibility.

Treatment plans employ a range of services including social detox, recreational therapy, and evidence-based practices including cognitive behavior therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. As you exit detox and move through your treatment, you are supported in other ways including personalized life coaching, employment assistance, and access to sober living as you re-enter your life.

Wasatch Crest Treatment Center is unique in that it also offers evening and a virtual intensive outpatient program.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Clients often choose to enter intensive outpatient programs (IOP) when they exit inpatient rehab. Others turn to IOP as an alternative to hospitalization. Intensive outpatient rehabs offer high-level care for clients in early recovery and those at an elevated risk of relapse, typically requiring them to commit to between nine and 20 hours of treatment per week. The most prevalent treatment modalities include psychotherapy, recovery education, medication assisted treatment (MAT), and holistic therapies, such as meditation.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

If your friend or family member is suffering physically or psychologically from substance use but denies there is a problem, it might be time for a drug intervention in Utah. This process involves meeting with an intervention specialist from a facility's intervention services program. This specialist will interview family members to gain an understanding of the situation, then facilitate the intervention. Their expertise can prove invaluable in navigating this complex confrontation.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

When you enter a drug rehab in Utah, the process usually involves four stages: treatment initiation, early abstinence, maintaining abstinence, and advanced recovery. Treatment methods can rely on medications, counseling, or both, in either an outpatient or inpatient setting.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

The foundation of motivational interviewing in Utah rests on four pillars: partnership, evocation, acceptance, and compassion. The therapist collaborates with the client, encouraging them to explore their options and make informed decisions about making changes in their lives.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses the psychological impact of traumatic events. Together with a therapist, you identify the impact that trauma has had on your life and the factors that trigger emotional and physical responses. You develop better coping mechanisms to rebuild a sense of safety and trust in your life.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy in Utah uses eye movements, tapping, or auditory tones to help you process and integrate traumatic memories. The process follows an eight phase protocol applied by a therapist who has undergone specialized training. EMDR is client centered, which allows you to control the pace and the intensity of the sessions.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

art-brush iconCreative Arts Therapy

Specialists trained in creative arts therapy can incorporate methods such as art, music, and writing therapy in your treatment program. These expressive methods may be combined with psychodynamic therapy and mindfulness based approaches.

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Wasatch Crest was an amazing experience. Not only was it in the beautiful area of Heber Utah just 15 minutes from Park City, it was a great emotionally growing experience as well. The Therapists took their time to actually listen all the way, and then gave feedback and helpful insight I might have overlooked otherwise. The Night Staff was amazing at coming up with activities and genuinely seemed interested in me as a person. And the Alumni Coordinator took the time to get me involved with Recovery related Sports and Events after my inpatient experience was done. Highly recommended.A+++

Out of the 5 other treatment centers I have been to this one has helped me recognize my true potential. Situated on the outskirts of Heber/Midway it boosts a beautiful view. The therapist's are top notch and the staff are awesome. Chefs Mirza and Jeff prepare great meals! And jordanelle is only minutes away.

it was a very caring facility that gave an array of opportunities to grow in sobriety. My only comment is that it is a self motivating facility and clients need work on themselves to get better. Staff was great and very caring!

Wasatch crest was the best decision I ve made in my 30 years of life. It was my first time in treatment, and i can t say enough positive things about the place. Before going I always envisioned rehab as more of a prison system, but Wasatch was so far from that. It felt more like a comforting home, and the staff and other patients ended up feeling like family. There were so many inspirational role models within the staff, and almost all of them have struggled with addiction in the past, so they have first hand experience and advice. The lessons I learned there have helped me stay sober for over two years, and gave me the tools to get and stay clean. From the first day, the staff was friendly, caring, and genuine in wanting to help patients with their struggles. The facility was beautiful, and the food was great! If you are looking into treatment you have found the right place. I can t say enough good things about this place. Highly recommend if you want a place that s welcoming, non judgment, fun, and really cares about individuals and their path to sobriety.

Horrible, money making machine. Counselors are horrible. I have never been treated so awful. All I did was clean the facility. You people are the worst and don't call my number asking why I left such a horrible review

We regret to learn that you have concerns about feeling obligated to perform tasks during your treatment with us. At our center, we hold certain expectations for our clients, including maintaining the tidiness of their rooms and engaging in a weekly communal chore. Please be assured that we have a dedicated cleaning staff responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of our facilities. It's important to clarify that there is intention behind these client-involved cleaning tasks. We aim to assist clients in their reintegration into everyday life by encouraging participation in activities of daily living and fostering a sense of community. This approach is a deliberate part of our comprehensive treatment strategy, aimed at promoting holistic recovery and overall well-being. Please feel free to contact us directly, if you prefer not to, that is absolutely fine as well. We respect your decision, but we want you to know that we re here to listen and learn from your experience.

Words cannot even begin to describe how thankful I am for my time spent at Wasatch Crest. I was given the opportunity to fly out to Utah from Ohio at the end of March of this year. As someone who has always been very avoidant of change and trying something completely new, this was obviously very stressful and I was unaware of what to expect. From the moment I got off my flight and was picked up at the airport by Ed Manion and taken to the residential house, I knew I had made a great decision. During my time in the residential program, I always felt cared for as opposed to the feeling of being just another number or statistic that you would expect at other treatment centers. At Wasatch Crest you genuinely feel like every employee and therapist is there to help you get better and root you on during your journey. From the daily schedule of groups and activities all the way to the daily food prepared by Mirza, the house chef at Wasatch, I couldn t have asked for a better experience. With the help of Jordan Gardner, my therapist assigned to me during my time here, and the entire clinical staff, I can proudly say I graduated the residential program and moved to their sober living program and have been here since April. The sober living house is beautiful and has definitely served as a place to call home during my transition to each level of care. I am beyond honored to have gotten the opportunity to come to Wasatch Crest and completely change my life. If you are struggling with substance abuse and need a program to aid you in turning your life around, I can t suggest Wasatch Crest enough!

Advertisement is different than pictures. Shoddy and run down. The "pool" was filled in with dirt and weeds. The basketball court had balls that were ruined by sitting in the sun so you cant use them. It's dilapidated, big time. The residents are treated like prisoners at times more than patients trying to get better. The facility is just gross and run down. Not what you would expect when paying that much for treatment. They want you to get better mentally, but the facility itself will bring your mental state down.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your experience with Wasatch Crest. Our overall client satisfaction scores are best-in-class. Negative feedback is rare, so we take any constructive criticism very seriously. We truly value feedback from our clients, as it helps us continually improve our services. With regard to the pool, Wasatch Crest has never had, nor advertised, an operational swimming pool. We apologize for any confusion regarding the pool. We do, however, have a number of other exciting amenities that complement our treatment program. These amenities and activities are accurately described on our website, and our overall client feedback is very positive. Again, we appreciate your honesty and thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Our team is dedicated to continuously improving our services, and your feedback plays a crucial role in that process. To better address this issue, and make the necessary corrections, we would appreciate knowing where you saw a pool advertised, along with any other detailed feedback that will help us. Please feel free to reach out to us directly at wasatchcrestts@gmail.com. We are here to ensure that your concerns are addressed and support you in your recovery journey in every way possible.
