About Transitions Treatment Program

Transitions TSS, located in Mattapan, Massachusetts, is a 40 bed short term addiction treatment program for adults. They focus on the mental, physical, and emotional needs that must be addressed for long term recovery and purposeful living.Their services include residential treatment and aftercare support.

The residential program at Transitions TSS is for those who need a high level of care and support during the initial phase of treatment. Achieving mental and physical stability is a primary concern. This program focuses on interpersonal skill development, resocialization skills, behavior modification, relapse prevention, and the sociological consequences of substance abuse. They also provide psychoeducational sessions that provide physiological and psychological support. Their one to one sessions are aimed at creating and achieving short and long term goals.

Individual therapy creates the space to explore the psychological challenges associated with addiction. With the help of a professional, individuals are given the space and direction to talk about and process their emotions. Often this includes unresolved trauma, anger, depression, anxiety, and the need for more control or autonomy in life. Each session focuses on the individual needs and goals of the client.

Group therapy involves treatment through the process of connecting in a group setting to discuss and work through mental, emotional, and physical issues. There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psychoeducation, and more.

Aftercare programming is for individuals who have successfully gone through a treatment program but who desire or need continual support once returning home. These programs often include alumni groups, group therapy, 12 Step meetings, SMART meetings, and individual therapy. The purpose is to provide a safe space to continuously work on recovery. At Transitions TSS, their one to one sessions will provide the time and space to create a continuum of care plan that includes everything from outpatient treatment services to aftercare support groups.

Transitions TSS may be in-network with most major insurance providers, including United Healthcare, BlueCross/BlueShield, Anthem, Cigna, Aetna, Humana, and others. Speak with your individual provider to confirm your coverage because out of network benefits may vary.

I like being in a setting where it's clean, structured, and friendly in the environment. Staff is kind and caring. The RS staff like Jen, Bobby, Ebin, Chuck are really good at their job. Angel who sets up commitments has some of the better meetings I've been to in recovery. Case workers like Belle, Kyannah, and Judy really take pride in their work. I ever needed a TSS this would be the one.

Accepted Insurance

Transitions Treatment Program works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
12-step icon12-Step
Recovery models based on 12 step programs feature extensive peer coaching and emphasize personal growth as a key to sustained sobriety. Regular attendance at 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, and available daily, is expected. The 12 steps of recovery are based on spiritual principles and support participants in addressing the root causes of their disease, accept responsibility for their choices, and accept that which is beyond their control. Self-selected sponsors provide one-one-mentoring.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Medically supervised detox is the process of removing addictive substances from your body and managing the withdrawal symptoms in a medically supervised environment. Typically, this is the first step in the recovery process and lasts an average of 5-7 days, though the length can vary depending on your individual needs. Once your system is cleared of alcohol and drugs, you'll likely transition to an inpatient treatment program for the next phase of your recovery.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in Massachusetts provides friends and family the opportunity to share how a person's substance use has caused problems in their lives. The goal of the intervention is to encourage the person to get the treatment they need. Most rehab facilities offer intervention services that can help families prepare for the intervention and facilitate entry into treatment if the person agrees to get help.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Addiction is a highly complex problem, and drug rehab in Massachusetts is often necessary to address it. These programs treat physical, mental, and relational issues that are involved. Treatment empowers individuals to manage these issues without the use of drugs.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
hiv-aids-program thumbnail image
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS programs support disease prevention and management in high-risk individuals in recovery. Individuals who engage in intravenous drug use and other addictive behaviors are at a higher risk of becoming infected with HIV. Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.

Clinical Services

During cognitive behavioral therapy in Massachusetts, clients work with a trained counselor to identify negative thinking patterns and change them. This change in thinking has been shown to lead to changes in behavior to treat substance use and mental health disorders effectively.

Group therapy is a safe space for participants to share their stories and experiences within a confidential and judgment free environment. You have the opportunity to openly discuss your difficulties and create a network of community support that can extend long after group therapy sessions end.

Therapists in Massachusetts offer individual therapy in a confidential setting to help you explore the complex factors that have contributed to your drug addiction. Using a tailored approach, your therapist supports you and utilizes evidence based treatment modalities to help you develop healthier thought patterns and behaviors. This builds a foundation for enduring sobriety.

Four principles are key to motivational interviewing in Massachusetts. First, the therapist offers empathy for the client's feelings and experiences. Second, they encourage the client to believe in themselves and their ability to change. Third, the therapist refrains from imposing their own viewpoints. Lastly, the therapist helps the client identify discrepancies in their circumstances and future goals.

The best time for nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) in Massachusetts is the moment you quit. You can start this therapy right away to lessen cravings and withdrawal symptoms, so the process is easier. Research has shown that NRT increases the chances of success. Options include patches, gum, inhalers, sprays, and lozenges.

Been listening to the treatment my friend is receiving while in there is unsettling. Staff is horrendous and there is no measures for treating people with the level of care in which they deserve while transitioning into further treatment. It to me is not the place to wait for holding if you are serious about your recovery.

This place is a complete disaster that needs to be audited by the Board of Health. The staff treat you horribly and case workers don't do their jobs. And, my cologne was stolen from the property that ONLY staff has access to. There is no accountability nor manner of recourse. One would think the place is run by actively using addicts. I would never refer nor suggest anyone go there. The place is barely a step up from beinghomeless on Mass and Cass. There should be a zero star option for this place
