outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Clients who are exiting inpatient rehab, those who are experiencing crisis, and those who prefer to live at home while in treatment typically enroll in intensive inpatient programs (IOP). These programs feature frequent and robust care, generally requiring clients to participate in at least nine hours of care weekly, though many intensive outpatient rehabs offer up to 20 treatment hours per week. IOP services typically combine individual, group, and family counseling with recovery education and holistic therapies.

aftercare iconAftercare

Clients in a rehab aftercare program have typically completed detox and intensive inpatient and are medically stable. These programs are designed to address addiction recovery as a life-long process. Outpatient counseling and recovery education are typically categorized as drug rehab aftercare, but many clients continue to receive support after being discharged from formal outpatient treatment. Case managers and recovery teams facilitate clients' access to peer coaching, career counseling, 12 step program induction, and related services.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

A sober living home in New Jersey is for individuals who are recovering from alcohol and drug addiction issues. The homes are typically designed for either men or women, but some may offer space for women with their children.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

A drug intervention in New Jersey is more than a confrontational conversation. This organized effort is specific and goal-oriented. During the intervention, family members share specific examples of how the person's addiction has impacted their lives and spell out what they will do if the individual does not get treatment. The intervention also presents a clear treatment plan, which typically involves input from intervention services.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in New Jersey is the process of addressing the complex issues involved with addiction. Challenges are identified and addressed through individual and group counseling. Participants learn how to manage these issues without the use of substances.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in New Jersey typically follows a set structure of treatment. The therapist helps clients identify their life challenges and their thoughts surrounding those challenges. The client then learns to identify unhealthy thought patterns and reshape those into healthy patterns of thinking and behavior.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical means opposing. The premise of dialectical behavior therapy is to learn how two things that seem to be opposite can actually be true. You learn how to accept yourself while also making changes. The focus is on accepting your emotions and changing how you manage them.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

During individual therapy for drug addiction, patients receive a customized and tailored approach to understanding their unique circumstances and providing them with targeted interventions. These include coping skills, relapse prevention plans, and developing resilience, all of which are essential for long term recovery.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Building life skills allows you to demolish negative patterns of behavior and build new, healthy patterns. By building new thought processes, coping strategies, and behaviors, you establish a solid foundation for recovery.

recreational-therapy iconRecreational Therapy

Recreational therapy is a dynamic approach to addiction treatment in New Jersey. It integrates activities like music therapy, team sports, and gardening so you have a therapeutic outlet for your emotions and stress. This improves your physical and mental health and helps you develop new skills to support a sober lifestyle.

After a long process and waiting time I showed to my appointment. There is no reception and no one answers the phone. The provider never showed up. They have an ipad where you sign in for your appointment. I checked in twice but no response. No one showed up. After 30 minutes of waiting I left the premises. It s ironic that a service that should care and listen to its customers is so impersonal. 0/5

I started seeing Dorian back in 2018 and there are truly not enough words to express the life changing work we did together. After 5 challenging and impactful years I finally felt able to manage all life had thrown at me during the last decade. I've never felt more capable and sure of myself in my entire life and a great deal of that stems from Dorian challenging me, providing me with the right tools and giving me a safe place to wear it all. It was heartbreaking when I decided to move forward without therapy but I know Dorian will always be there if/when I need her.I've referred several people to Therapy Resources and will continue to do so if there is someone in need. I can't say enough good things about this place and my overall experience.THANK YOU!

I had the privilege of working with Maria, an outstanding career coach who transformed my professional journey. From the moment I started the coaching sessions, I knew I was in good hands. The experience was exceptional, and I can confidently say that Maria is worth her weight in gold. What sets Maria apart is her ability to personalize her guidance. She took the time to understand my strengths, weaknesses, and preferences. The strategies and action plans we developed were uniquely tailored to me, ensuring that I was on a path that aligned with my values and ambitions. Beyond the professional insights, Maria provided unwavering support and encouragement.

I found this place searching for a therapist for my youngest, and I am so glad I did! After seeing how great my two youngest were doing, I also decided to start my own mental health wellness journey. Everyone here is extremely caring and helpful, I highly recommend them to anyone looking to start their journey!
