About The Quincy Center, A Program of Arbour Hospital

The Quincy Center, a Program of Arbour Hospital in Quincy, Massachusetts, offers comprehensive treatment for addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions. This is typically called dual diagnosis and requires integrated and simultaneous treatment for the highest level of success. They provide inpatient and outpatient services. Your treatment begins with a comprehensive assessment that forms the basis of your personalized treatment plan. You may begin addiction treatment with inpatient care if you require 24/7 supervision.

You might also begin treatment on an outpatient basis in one of two outpatient levels of care. They provide partial hospitalization programs and intensive outpatient programs for adults. A partial hospitalization program offers intensive, daily treatment but still allows you to go home at night. An intensive outpatient program is a lower level of intensity. The program typically requires several hours of therapy each week with the flexibility to meet some of your work or academic obligations.

The inpatient dual diagnosis treatment program includes a psychosocial assessment, psychiatric evaluation, medication management and therapeutic activities to address your diagnosis. They also include nutritional counseling, life skills training and medication education to address more than the symptoms of your substance use disorder or mental health condition.

They are accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed through the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health and the Department of Public Health Bureau of Substance Addiction Services. They accept many major insurance providers including Medicare and coverage from the Veterans Administration. They verify your insurance before treatment.

inpatient iconInpatient Rehab

Inpatient rehab offers robust, hands-on care in a highly structured and supportive environment. The facility provides housing, meals, and round-the-clock supervision, allowing clients to focus exclusively on their recovery. Inpatient treatment typically involves intensive addiction counseling based on CBT, DBT, RBT, motivational interviewing, or other psychotherapeutic approaches. Many inpatient treatment centers also offer life skills training and/or complementary therapies, including meditation, mindfulness, and nutrition counseling.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

As part of the continuum of care at Arbour Health System, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are offered for adult patients whose psychiatric and/or substance dependence symptoms are impeding their ability to function interpersonally and professionally, but do not require the intensity of partial hospitalization level of care.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs offer customized, wraparound support for clients in the maintenance phase of recovery. Many clients enroll in drug rehab immediately after completing intensive inpatient or residential care. Services encompass outpatient treatment but often extend long beyond the completion of a formal recovery program and typically include a variety of medical, mental health, and social service programs. Peer coaching, relapse prevention, 12 step program induction, and related services are commonly available.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

A sober living home offers a supportive environment where individuals in recovery provide mutual support as they share household responsibilities. Residents participate in 12-step programs and offer accountability for sobriety. To remain in men's or women's sober living, individuals must remain drug and alcohol-free, contribute to chores, attend support group meetings, and help cover expenses to live in the home.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP), also known as day treatment, allows you to receive rehab-level care while living at home. PHP treatment requires a minimum of 20 hours of treatment each week for an average of 90 days. PHP treatment plans can vary depending on your needs but typically includes relapse prevention, medication management, and evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Most insurance providers fully or partially cover PHP treatment.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Addiction is a highly complex problem, and drug rehab in Massachusetts is often necessary to address it. These programs treat physical, mental, and relational issues that are involved. Treatment empowers individuals to manage these issues without the use of drugs.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Dual Diagnosis services offer a managed continuum of care designed to provide a comprehensive system of treatment and recovery from co-occurring psychiatric and substance disorders. Co-occurring psychiatric and substance disorders are treated simultaneously with a clear recognition that stabilization/arresting of the addiction is the most immediate concern upon the patient’s entering treatment.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

recreational-therapy iconRecreational Therapy

Recreational therapy helps you as you recover from drug and alcohol addiction in Massachusetts by giving you structured activities to improve your physical and mental health. By participating in sports, creative arts, or nature activities, you have a positive outlet for emotions and stress that may have otherwise triggered alcohol or drug use. This helps to foster a healthy sober lifestyle.
