About PCC Melrose Park Family Health Center

PCC Community Wellness Center provides primary, dental, and behavioral health care for children, teenagers, adults, and seniors at 14 locations throughout Illinois. At their PCC Melrose Park Family Health Center in Melrose Park, Illinois, they offer outpatient services, including a Chemical Dependency Clinic for adults in addiction recovery. They accept self payment as well as most major health plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. A discount program is also available.

I like that this facility meets you where you are and sets treatment goals just for you. On your first visit, they’ll conduct a quick evaluation to understand the challenges you’re working through and what you want to achieve. If they believe that addiction medication can help you recover with more success and less pain, they may prescribe it. At this location, they offer buprenorphine, Suboxone, or Vivitrol to help control your symptoms, minimize your cravings, and lower your risk of relapse. There’s also a special program that uses pregnancy safe medications for expecting women.

In addition to medication, they’ll help you connect with counselors who you can meet with to talk about your condition. They’ll share helpful advice and teach you healthy life skills, including productive ways to cope with stress and anxiety. Even after you complete your counseling sessions, you can still visit the center for ongoing support services.

Past clients call this facility helpful, informative, and supportive. However, many have noted difficulties with scheduling and front desk communication.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) enable clients to receive high-level care while living at home. Clients may choose to enter IOP instead of enrolling in inpatient care post-detox or they may transition from an inpatient rehab into IOP. Intensive outpatient treatment involves multiple therapeutic sessions per week and includes a combination of psychotherapy and addiction and recovery education. Many programs also offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) and/or holistic therapies, such as acupuncture and massage.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs provide a full continuum of care for clients who are exiting inpatient treatment. Though outpatient care is often considered an element of drug rehab aftercare, services typically continue for the remainder of the clients' life and long after formal treatment is completed. Clients work with their case managers and care team to formulate a customized portfolio of medical, mental health, and social service resources designed to evolve as the client's needs change.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

Living in a sober living home in Illinois is a lot like living in a traditional home. Everyone must contribute to household chores and maintenance. All residents must work and pay rent. Individuals can mostly come and go as they please, but they must be home before curfew. Most men's and women's sober living homes also host house meetings where they resolve disputes, assign responsibilities, and welcome new residents.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Loved ones can utilize a drug intervention in Illinois to help with addressing a family member's problematic substance use. The goal of the intervention is to educate the individual about the negative effects of their substance use and encourage them to accept professional treatment. Intervention services can help families initiate this conversation and plan appropriate follow-up care, such as inpatient or outpatient rehab.

I have never had a bad experience coming to PCC in Melrose Park. I have seen several doctors over the years. All of the doctors are very knowledgeable and caring. The wait time in the office is never that long. I have the portal as well and test results are put in as soon as they are ready. The lab tech is great also !

Wait time on phone is absolutely ridiculous. They do not follow up with you about your tests and if you have abnormal levels of anything. Luckily, I kept calling till the doctor could call me back

HORRIBLE!! my friend left the clinic in dec 2020 with all these issues after she came in holding her head asking for help and telling the doctor something was wrong. itll be 3 years of this hell and nothing was done about it. my girlfriend has no recall, we've asked her doctor and the director how is she able to go back to school work and drive and nobody has came close to even helping us. nobody should be having this problem at 28. she doesnt recall nothing from the past 2 years hasnt retained weekends, weekdays. doesnt retain walks, picking up the kids from school (if shes done it) nobody cares not even about the kids and we've explained how unsafe this is. we ended up reporting it to the medical board because weve had enough and from comments from DOCTORS saying "we fired them and cant go back to them" making comments like "DONT YOU REMEMBER?" the director Dr. ALI was just as unhelpful, did not explain anything or took charge instead cared more about a stupid contract terminating her care because they didnt want to deal with this. Please do your research, look up clinics or doctors in the area because this is what we should have done. i dont recommended yesenia arce or mahnaz ali you came into this profession to help others.
