About Mountain Springs Recovery

Mountain Springs Recovery provides substance abuse treatment in Monument, Colorado. They offer detox and residential services that include 24 hour medical care for safety and comfort. Their residential program ranges from 30 days to 90 days, depending on the severity of symptoms.

Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is included with detox service to help ease withdrawal symptoms and reduce drug cravings. They use FDA approved medicines that help guests remain comfortable.

Their individual therapy sessions apply proven methods like cognitive behavioral therapy. This gives you one on one time to examine thoughts and behaviors that may relate to addiction tendencies. You can work on developing healthy coping skills, avoiding substance use triggers and learning relapse prevention methods for future use.

Group therapy is another crucial component of their program. It provides time to openly discuss addiction challenges with others in recovery who can empathize and understand your journey. It also reduces feelings of isolation, which often accompany substance abuse. Group sessions give you a community network with others, sharing the goal of long term sobriety.

Their unique program uses non 12 Step methods. You’ll learn evidence based practices that rely on proven strategies for accountability and recovery. Family therapy is available and may help loved ones understand more about the disease of addiction so they can provide a supportive network after treatment.

You can also access experiential therapies, which offer alternatives to traditional therapeutic methods. These methods may include equine therapy, music therapy and art therapy.

Holistic therapies are available that focus on the mental, physical and emotional aspects of addiction and healing. They have yoga, meditation and mindfulness techniques, which may help reduce stress and promote relaxation. These methods can help avoid relapse, assisting with long term sobriety.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

Equine therapy, aka equine-assisted therapy (EAT), is a form of experiential therapy that involves interactions and activities with horses. It does not necessarily involve riding horses, but all activities related to horses, such as feeding, grooming, haltering and leading them. A mental health professional frequently oversees the activities (often in conjunction with a horse professional), and helps patients process their thoughts, feelings, and behavior patterns during and/or after the interaction.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Pretty much top notch services when they had their schedules put together correctly. Seemed like coordination was an issue since we were given a calendar for each week and it was rearranged on an almost daily basis, with combined groups, facilitators just not showing up and groups being moved from room to room to room. They also couldn't corral their smokers which severely impacted the experience for everyone else there in a negative way. The toxic poison would waft throughout the entire campus and make it's way into the doorways and vents of the main areas, classrooms and even the bedrooms. It seemed as though cancer and emphysema were inescapable for those that had picked this venue to try and get some clean mountain air for their recovery. There were some rather remarkable facilitators there who really did go above and beyond and to make sure that their classes were engaging. Their material was on point and concise and never dull. There were also a few that were the exact opposite, of course, though they were far fewer in numbers. The food was usually quite edible. The portions overwhelming, even when I asked for half size or smaller amounts due to GI issues I was dealing with. There were a few meals that made absolutely no sense. Who puts curry in brown gravy with pork? The views were amazing. If they could just clean up the haze from the tobacco burning , this would be an amazing venue.

While we can't comment on specific situations due to privacy laws, the health and safety of our patients is our top priority. If we're not the best fit for a patient's specific situation and medical history, we will refer them to a treatment provider who can meet their needs

An amazing place for recovery. Not only do they help with the physical side of things but also the mental. The staff are caring and loving and truly have a passion for their jobs as well as the clients. Wonderful living conditions and plenty of options for food. And the community of people there really are supportive of each other and the recovery. By the end you feel as part of a family with everyone. I can say by far this is the best recovery I ve been to.Something different about this place is they let you have your cellphone, so you can still be connected and deal with the outside world. This is helpful because it allows you to be connected with family or friends, deal with finances, and also deal with the same possible struggles but from a safe and nurturing environment where you have a team of people that can help.Classes everyday but not in an overwhelming manner. Plenty of breaks during.Smoking and vaping is allowed in designated areas. You re allowed to get mail, packages and approved items from stores while there, including clothes and food/snack items if you want.It s all in all, it s a place where you can get better while not feeling trapped or you can t be yourself. I did a 30 day stay, and would happily answer any questions. They offer up to a 90 day stay if you desire as well for a maximum treatment process. Can t stress enough how great this place is.Thank you Mountain Springs Recovery. You saved my life in every way.

This place is truly a blessing . I came here for recovery and that s exactly what I got . They didn t make me feel like an addict but just a normal human being going through a rough patch. The facilitators are amazing, Alvin and Cro are phenomenal and helped me understand my addiction and who I am as a person . Any issues I had were taken care of immediately. AND DAVID!!!! Words cannot explain how blessed I was to have you there for support, care and consideration.

I am three weeks into my program here at MSR, and I can t express enough how grateful I am to have had found this place (more like it found me). Never have I imagined the healing that I would find in myself while being here. I have been to other programs, and they don t even compare. Every single staff member, everyone from David in operations, to Jennifer in admissions, is unparalleled. The love is felt here. I even choose to extend my time in this program, because my journey here has only began. If you are hesitating to try recovery for the first time, or are contemplating getting back into yourself, do not look any further. Thank you MSR.
