Where do I start with Banyan? I was so nervous and scared to admit myself, but there was absolutely no need for me to be.Nurse Heather and BHT Tammy did my intake and they were so kind to me while I nervously swayed in the front area. The Director of Operations, Lexi, came up to the facility late to help them with it as well. It was almost midnight. They wanted to move as quickly as they could so that I could get in bed since it had been a long day of traveling. The next day, I was met with delicious food from the chef, Luce. Her cooking during my stay was INCREDIBLE. She made the best breakfasts, pastas, sandwiches, meatloaf and all the other yummy comfort meals I could think of. She is so good at listening and customizing for food allergies, etc.The director of nursing, Sara, has a wonderful staff. Christa, Heidi, and Heather were my favorites, though all of the nurses were very informative and caring. The Behavioral Health Techs were very kind as well. They were incredibly helpful and were always around to answer questions or even just talk when I was having a rough day.My therapist, Scott, was really my saving grace while I was here. He helped me really get to the root of my problems and open myself to new ideas and methods of treatment. I have a new sense of self after working with him and I will be forever grateful for him. The therapist s that taught group lessons, Kascee, Felecia and Dane were wonderful, informative and patient as well. The executive director, Mark, was always visible and available for questions and conversation. He was one of my first conversations and he calmed my nerves greatly. The head of maintenance, Bubba, was so helpful when I had any questions or issues with things around the building. My room was a little toasty and he made sure that it was comfortable for me and looked at my shower to make sure my wind down time at night was optimal. He always has the kindest smile on his face. They took us to the gym and the trampoline park while I was there. They had other activities planned, but I left before I could attend. They brought in weekly AA meetings for anyone who wanted to attend. We had game nights and karaoke nights and did lots of therapeutic art.I would highly recommend Banyan Castle Rock for anyone who is looking for substance abuse treatment, mental health treatment or both. I am a better person for attending and I can t wait to keep getting better with all of the tools that I learned here.

Let's face it, nobody *wants* to be in a Mental Health Facility, but when you need to be in one, I would suggest here ten times out of ten.I was voluntarily admitted here and was expecting 3-5 days max. Welp, ended up I caught the start of a "breakdown." Not gonna lie, I was horrified when I first came in and the first few days. I became more comfortable, and all of my needs were always met. Sometimes, it took a little bit (when the unit was full or more complex and immediate attention was required for tense situations), but I always felt like I was cared for. Talking with a psychiatrist every day to fine-tune my meds was a lifesaver. The councilors and therapists were phenomenal. The other staff was all great. I can't think of one person who was rude to me or didn't want to help. The unit is amazingly clean (I came from a very very dirty and rundown MHF that it was borderline scary), and the main janitor actually cleans things and not just "wipe down" and spot clean. The bathrooms stayed clean almost 100% of the time! Much higher than all the fast food places I've had to use the facilities.I'm sorry I can't name staff... I know a few of them, but I would feel bad mentioning just the few when it wasEverySinglePerson.Thank you all, and I hope this review helps someone decide in their time of need to come here. I'm getting released on my 11th day here and feel good about the extended stay for my well-being.-D

My 15 yr old daughter was admitted to Highlands this week. It has been the most difficult and scariest week of my life. Fortunately, my daughter wanted help and voluntarily admitted herself. Inpatient mental health care was foreign to me and handing my fragile daughter off to strangers in a psychiatric hospital almost had me needing the same type of care. But the staff took very good care of her. She immediately felt welcome and safe. And she was glad she went. The psychiatrist, social worker and nurses assigned to my daughter were amazing, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. The professionals at Highlands are doing hard but very important work. And I will forever be grateful to them for caring for and helping my baby through a mental health crisis.
