About Copa Health – Florian OTC

Copa Health – Florian OTC runs a substance abuse counseling program called SPECTRUM. Their process tackles co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders to give you a firm foundation for a lifetime of sobriety. The parent company Copa Health has several locations throughout Arizona and Utah, and they serve anyone living with a developmental disability or a behavioral health concern. The Florian OTC branch is located in Mesa, Arizona.

One of the main goals of the SPECTRUM program is to help you find balance in life. Their integrated dual diagnosis treatment approach views substance use as a consequence of mental health concerns. By considering both concerns at once, treatment becomes more effective and relevant within your context. The caring staff help you rediscover meaning and purpose in your life, giving you something to strive for as you go through the harder parts of addiction recovery. If transport is an issue for you, they are able to provide telehealth services.

Their whole-person approach to healing includes the use of their mobile gyms. These remarkable vehicles meet you where you are so that you can pursue your physical health goals. Their encouraging wellness coach can guide you through workouts and to help you build endurance, grow strength, lose weight, or build mindfulness skills.

Something sweet about Copa Health is their Copa Cookies initiative where residents in the East and West Villages bake cookies under the guidance of Copa Health’s head chef. You can support them and their other patients by ordering a batch of delicious cookies. Their wide variety of flavors ensures there’s something for everyone – from simple sugar cookies to an elaborate white chocolate macadamia flavor.

Accepted Insurance

Copa Health – Florian OTC works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

The goal of motivational interviewing in Arizona is to enhance your confidence in your ability to make changes in your life. It encourages you to commit to change and plan for the process of making those changes that will allow you to reach your goals.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Such a comforting place. Receptionists are willing and able to answer any questions you may have. Always prompt in returning phone calls. If I need help again (I hope not!), I won't go to another place other than here.

I went here for an entire year for mental health assistance, the front desk employees have changed several times but they are always so helpful and nice while the doctors and counselors are all overbooked overworked and very burnt out. This place will prescribe you medicine or provide you with therapy but the general feel of the staff I dealt with was that they don't truly care or show true empathy for the patients. Steer clear of this place as there are much better options and plenty of other doctors/counselors who aren't burnt out and will care for your problems. It's a shame that something as delicate as mental health help can be so overrun with unenthused, negligent, and careless people such as their PMHNP Jennifer Anderson. She doesn't care to learn what your true diagnosis is, she doesn't care or show concern for medication side-effects, and she will deny any chance of her decisions causing painful withdrawal even in the face of a hospital visit and may even delete the history of her giving you medication once she realizes what she has done. Good luck.

The staff is very welcoming, courteous and professional. Willing to answer or find an answer to any questions you might have. If you ever need these types of services, The Marc Center is a great place to go .

I unfortunately have been coming to Marc center for 2 years, which I was assigned to Jennifer Anderson, and I have to say she is possibly the absolute worst person I have ever dealt with in any type of medical situation, being er visits or just Dr. Visits, I had been going to a psychiatrist for many years before coming to this facility, I had explained to her the medication I have been on for many years for bipolar disorder, anxiety and anger issues. Right out of the gates she had the audacity to tell me I was Dr shopping because I was on xanax for years for my anxiety prescribed by my psychiatrist, which if I were Dr shopping I was doing a pretty crappy job at it being she was the only medical professional I had seen besides my psychiatrist of 6 years which k just couldn't afford any longer, so she put me on the medication I was on including the xanax 4 months later she asked how long I had been on xanax I said 6 or so years, she immediately stopped the prescription prescribing me 6 1 mg pills to do a taper with... I was saying 6 pills is not a taper and its going to be a big problem, she didn't care.
