Here we go again. Can't get our dose on a Saturday because the nurse can't get in the building. There is always a problem at this place, especially on Saturday. It seems as though every other Saturday we have to wait for something. I have to work! I don't want to come back later. It says you're open at 4am, so what's the problem?

I've been going to this clinic for about 6 years. I started on daily doses and worked my way up to monthly take home doses, which took about a year and half. It took longer than they initially stated because of the number of new counselors that were always coming in. Being able to take doses home is called privileges. After being on monthly privileges for over 4 years I got my first random call to come to the clinic the next day so they could observe my doses. I guess they finally started following policies because I was told I would get random calls but never received any after 4 years - until last week.Long story short... They called in the morning and left a voice mail. Well, since I didn't recognize the number and wasn't expecting a call from them - I didn't check my voicemail until later that evening. They wanted me to come in the next morning to check my doses. Here's the really unfair and unethical part though. Since I didn't make it in they started my me all over again on my doses... back to coming in every day.I was so frustrated and discouraged that I wanted to quit the program. Obviously, that's not an option. So after 4 years of being on monthly doses, passing all pee tests and having no problems I have to start from the very beginning after 1 minor issue of not checking my voicemail and doing nothing wrong? This is not helping us like the program is supposed to do, instead it's more of a "haha... gotcha, you have to start all over!" Why not just bump me back to every 2 weeks or once a week instead? I have children and this is a big conflict with child care now. Not to mention the gas and extra time it's costing me, as I live 25 minutes away.Basically, they're saying 4 years of being clean doesn't mean anything. Come on guys, people make mistakes, addicts relapse, but don't make the punishment so harsh it discouraging and makes us want to quit the program. I see several other reviews of people stating the same harsh punishment. I also see the owner making replies stating the feedback helps improve the program. No action has been taken by the owner though.Just one more thing... it took me a year and a half to get to monthly doses because they always had new counselors coming in not knowing what's going on. I had to wait 2 - 3 weeks for some of my privileges to get approved. Also, my paperwork wasn't updated for over 2 years and I didn't see the provider every 6 months as they state in their policy. We're trying here... but getting spanked hard for our minor mistakes is not the answer. Please reconsider how privileges are taken away.

Dear Thomas, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed experience with Intensive Treatment Systems. We deeply value your feedback and understand the frustration and discouragement you re feeling after working so hard to achieve monthly privileges. First and foremost, I want to acknowledge your dedication and commitment over the past six years. Reaching monthly take-home doses is a significant milestone, and maintaining that level of stability for over four years is commendable. Your situation highlights important aspects of our program and the challenges our patients face. As an Opioid Treatment Program (OTP), we have a responsibility to maintain a current Diversion Control Plan (DCP) to ensure the safety and efficacy of our treatment services. Our quality assurance program includes specific measures designed to reduce the possibility of diversion of dispensed MOUD (medications for opioid use disorders). These measures assign specific responsibilities to our providers and staff, and all patients are informed of our diversion policy at intake and with each request for increased privilege levels. The requirement for random call-backs is a critical component of this plan, as it helps ensure compliance and minimizes the risk of medication diversion. We follow the plans submitted to AHCCCS, CARF, and DEA without deviation to uphold the integrity of our program and the safety of all our patients. I understand your frustration with the recent call-back and the resulting reset to daily dosing. While this strict adherence to policy can feel punitive, it is intended to maintain the highest standards of care and compliance. However, your point about the severity of the consequences and their impact on your life is well taken. We recognize that such measures can be challenging, especially when balancing childcare and other responsibilities. Regarding your concerns about counselor turnover, delays in privilege approvals, and provider visits, we are continuously striving to improve these areas. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us address these issues and make necessary adjustments to support our patients better. We are committed to reviewing our policies and procedures to ensure they are fair and supportive while still meeting regulatory requirements. Your experience will certainly be part of this review process, and I encourage you to reach out directly to discuss your concerns further. Thank you again for your feedback and for your continued participation in our program. We truly appreciate your perseverance and are here to support you on your recovery journey.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Arizona is the process of treating individuals who are dependent on a particular addictive drug. Because addiction is complex, this treatment typically includes a variety of interventions that address the many physical and emotional issues involved.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
postpartum-program thumbnail image
Postpartum Program
The postpartum period is a sensitive time, especially for women in addiction recovery. Rehabs with specialized programs for new mothers will offer compassionate, personalized care to meet each client's needs as they transition from pregnancy to this season of life. Care teams may include obstetricians, pediatricians, and social workers working collaboratively to give women, children, and families a healthy future.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Every moment spent at this clinic was one of the most frustrating of my life. The staff is rude and never willing to hear you. The counselors are inexperienced and incompetent, and they are often prejudiced against you.

I've been coming here over a year. Nobody really seems to know what's going on. I've been trying to get my text level of privileges since January and keep getting the run around. I've been told "you'll have them this week" more times than I can count with still no privileges. Finally I told them I'd like to speak to someone higher up about this because I'm not getting any solutions from the people I've talked to in office I had to ask THREE times before anyone took me seriously and I was told someone would be calling me. Well I never got a call no surprise.

The counselor Deb is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Myself as well as others agree we're lucky to have her as a counselor Dina the Nurse is by far the sweetest person with the most amazing personality!!She should run the show there (EDIT) Ever since Deb left this place if it wasn't for being required I wouldn't of bothered with the counseling part of it.Idk if Dina is still there but if not this place has nothing positive going for them.I discontinued my treatment and have been meaning to leave a comment but just now am getting to it.The guy who "runs the show" is a complete DOUCHE & only has the job due to his family ties!! He refused to medicate me because I got upset with the fact that they wanted to take my weekend privileges away due to the lab messing up my drug test(I already know what most of you are possibly thinking, drug addict, ya sure they messed up your test, but honest to god). Tell me how it makes sense that I test for nothing other then my methadone and weed when they test in office, but when they send it off to the lab I come up dirty for everything except there's no methadone in my system or marijuana which would be impossible as I was smoking every day at the time, and taking my methadone. This place is JOKE!! You work your a** off to get your privileges and wait forever(cause they like to take there time getting them approved), for them to turn around and take away for an error at no fault to your own. Needless to say I no longer go here, and luckily was able to come off the methadone without relapsing. If you could give negative stars I would -5

The AM dosing nurses are fabulous! Audrey the provider treats you like a human when you are doing well AND when you struggling, you can tell she cares. My counselor Jesus is intelligent and positive I swear hes in a good mood every day! He's been a joy to talk to and has passion for his job. Yes there is counselor turn over but he's stuck it out for some time now and has helped get all my forms in order and took the time to explain whats expected or me. Thank you North clinic!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!Most mismanaged clinic! They use outdated software - you will have to re-sign the same paperwork many times as it just disappears! They have a HUGE counselor turn over due to bad middle managment (the head nurse in particular who runs the clinocs like a gestapo). If you accidentally swallow mouthwash and have a BARELY ELEVATED test, you will be severly punished with privliges taken away. If you have a false positive it can take months to get the clear test back and take-home privlidges will be taken away as punishment! DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC!!!

I've transferred to 6 facilities in my 7 years of being in recovery and on Methadone Maintenance. Sister clinics and new clinics. This is the first one with comfortable seating, a tv in the waiting room, and there's never been more then a 3 minute wait to dose, for me. Not to mention it's open 24hrs (not that you can dose all of those hrs). Everyone has been nice. No attitude. I recommend calling in advance if you watch to do an intake since the provider is not in very often at this location. The West end sister clinic is where I had to do mine. This is North and I dose here everyday.
