About Evolutions Treatment Center

Evolutions Treatment Center is an alcohol and drug addiction treatment center located in Miami, Florida. Their programming provides a deliberate and slow progression from detox to sober living to create a stable path toward recovery.

Evolutions Treatment Center offers detox, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, outpatient, and transitional living homes.

The medically supervised treatment at Evolutions Treatment Center involves a safe and guided detox overseen by medical professionals to ensure safety and as much comfort as possible. The average length of stay in the detox unit is five – seven days.

The residential program at Evolutions Treatment Center offers 24 hour medically supervised treatment for those who need to stabilize mentally and physically. The program also provides standardized addiction treatment such as individual and group therapy, along with recovery oriented classes.

The partial hospital program is the most comprehensive outpatient program at Evolutions Treatment Center, and is often participated in by individuals upon graduating from residential treatment. This is a highly structured environment that meets regularly, but still allows participants to return to their home in the evening. Partial hospitalization is often seen as in important intermediary between residential and outpatient programming.

The intensive outpatient program at Evolutions Treatment Center is a step down from the partial hospitalization program. This program offers a less restrictive environment with more flexibility and time spent away from treatment.

The outpatient program at Evolutions Treatment Center is considered an aftercare programming service. This often includes individual or group counseling at regular intervals, while still fully participating in normal day to day living.

The transitional living house at Evolutions Treatment center is for those who want to live with others who are also in treatment so they can experience a positive environment that supports recovery through peer relationships. Standardized drug testing is implemented to ensure compliance.

Accepted Insurance

Evolutions Treatment Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs encompass multiple levels of care to facilitate clients' progress through their recovery journey. Clients who are stepping down from inpatient treatment may require intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment, which involves more frequent and substantive therapeutic interventions than does standard outpatient care. Outpatient centers typically provide extensive addiction counseling, including individual, group, and family therapy. Medication assisted treatment programs (MAT) and recovery-focused life skills training are also common in outpatient care.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) involve frequent and robust therapeutic sessions for clients requiring high-level care. Clients may engage in a combination of medication assisted treatment (MAT), addiction counseling, recovery skills training, and holistic therapies for a minimum of nine and a maximum of 20 hours per week. Intensive outpatient rehab is designed primarily for persons in early recovery, those exiting detox or inpatient care, and those at an elevated relapse risk.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
A sober living home in Florida often serves as a transitional residence for individuals coming out of inpatient rehab. This helps those in recovery avoid isolation that can sometimes happen after they return home from treatment. It offers a supportive environment where they can practice skills learned in rehab. Offering a combination of structure and freedom, men's or women's sober living is a good stepping stone to independent life in recovery.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Often referred to as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers an intensive treatment option that allows individuals to return home at night. PHP treatment typically requires a minimum of 20 hours a week for an average of 90 days. Participants attend daily therapeutic sessions, receive medication management, and have access to skilled medical professionals. While costs can vary, most insurance will fully or partially cover a partial hospitalization program.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in Florida is an essential part of treatment, particularly with medical detox. Withdrawal symptoms can be severe, and supervised detox provides around the clock access to medical professionals who can adminsiter proper medications and treatment to address these symptoms and step in should an emergency occur. This intensive clinical care will help curb the withdrawal effects, minimize substance dependence, and prepare you for the next step of treatment.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy provides a safe and supportive environment for people in Florida who are struggling with drug addiction. There you can openly discuss the challenges and progress you're making without fear of judgment from your peers who experience many of the same things you are.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Florida shuffle, YES, 100%!!! This is the worst place possible you could ever send your loved one to. I know because they watched my son die, getting high right in front of them. When he first arrived there, I was told by his "therapist," Leon, who was actually only an intern in social work, NOT counseling, that I would be allowed to have contact with my son while he was there. That was just one of many lies I was told. Leon would not even allow me to speak to my son on Christmas Day and couldn't even tell me if he received the Christmas present I sent to him. They also put a claim into insurance for over 300,000 dollars for his short 42-day stay, and then they didn't even have the decency to call me and inform me that my sweet boy passed; I had to hear that from a police officer, because they were covering themselves. The hottest place in hell is reserved for you!!!Please, please do not send your loved one here if you care about their well-being. My son never received the treatment he asked for and lost his life because of it!

I am a dual diagnosis PTSD and substance abuse patient!! When I walked into Evolutions detox center my plan was to stay 14 days. That changed the moment my therapist Tony talked to me!! They have a very effective approach to my disease and mental health. Cognitive and behavioral practices that have been life altering. Peter, Izzy, Tony, Trent and their staff are absolute professionals with almost 100 years of combined experience. They talked to me not down, they guided not pushed, they have been a chapter in my life that has brought me joy and self-esteem. I have a new outlook on life. (A LIFE I TRIED TO CANCEL) my relationships are being repaired, my life is restored. I'm a new person and I owe it to evolutions. Don't think it's easy!! I made them work hard. I was unmanageable no other way to explain it. They were patient and understanding. I would recommend this place to anyone who really wants to change their life and stay sober!!

I successfully completed the program & suffered through the negatives for my own reasons. 'FILTHY' & 'DECREPIT' is the best way to describe the Miami facility. The admin staff were dishonest/deceitful. The therapists, med/psych, & client tech staff were all wonderful, while understaffed & unsupported. If you have a choice in detox treatment centers, I cannot suggest in a stronger way that you CHOOSE SOMEWHERE ELSE because of the living conditions.I will begin with the positive:The "client techs": unlicensed support staff/security, were mostly very helpful & supportive. Specifically, Carlton and Rick were the two most amazing and wonderful people. Without them there on a daily basis, I would have left AMA very early in my stay due to the disgusting living conditions. For those considering a treatment center, the techs will be the most direct care workers a patient will interact with. The Therapists are highly skilled/accomplished professionals. I primarily had therapy with Margarida & Peter. They were both very helpful to my mental healthcare in different ways. You will not be able to choose your therapist, but I doubt any of them are lacking in skills or care. The Med/Nurse staff are all very professional/proficient.The food is served cafeteria style 4-5 meals per day & is surprisingly good. However, they do ration and limit the coffee, while offering unlimited soda (I suspect it's the labor costs)The negative/constructive criticisms:Immoral Billing: Several reviews claimed the facility would max your cards without your knowledge. I had a preventative plan of locking my cards, except one in a family member's name w/ a low limit. During check-in, the staff inventoried the cards. I had no need for funds during my stay because I am not a smoker nor like to snack. I insisted my cards be sealed inside my own tamper-resistant envelope and then both myself and the intake staffer signed the seal. When I was discharged, I was given the destroyed envelope and cards back. When asked why the envelope was opened, I was told bluntly, 'because we could. You signed the contract.'Rooms: The white bedding/towels have cigarette burns, brown/black stains that didn't come clean with bleach. The walls are missing patches of drywall; water stains in the ceiling; poorly patched up holes; items ripped off the walls & left unrepaired. In my room, the dresser's legs were broken & was leveled with a roll of TP, the AC unit in the wall had wads of TP shoved in the cracks for insulation bcz the AC unit didn't fit the hole. The screens on the windows weren't fitted. Light fixtures broken even after replacing the bulbs. The mattress springs rusted & made loud creaking noises anytime weight was shifted while sleeping (2-4 people per room).General Areas: There is no massage therapy as the pictures would suggest. The "game room" is just a small pool table and foosball table, which is mostly used as a group therapy room. The pictures of the courtyard do not reflect the current condition of the grounds. The outdoor furniture and cushions are only washed by the rains and the walls/stones are in desperate need of pressure washing. In my final 4 days, a patient puked in the middle of the smoking area and it was left to sit without being cleaned even after alerting upper mgt. It didn't rain, but the pile kept shrinking due to people accidentally walking through it and tracking the remnants elsewhere.Dining Hall: Critically understaffed. Patients are routinely cleaning the tables, counters, chairs, and even volunteering to scrub and mop the floors. Mgt is happy to accept the free labor.Maint: Under-staffed, funded, & skilled. It is evident that the maintenance staff is incapable of repairing and painting drywall or fixing a toilet float/flapper. Anything above that level of skill is unnecessary to discuss. They also force you to sign a contract on day one agreeing to let them use your name, image, and likeness in positive publicity, so be cautious of the 4.8/5-star rating. I recommend looking at the Newsweek Rankings

Just as a heads up, the phone number listed on Google is currently wrong. Make sure to call the one on the website while this problem is apparently in the process of being rectified. Five stars for the receptionist providing insurance help information.
