i m 18 now i went to the girls campus when i was 16 and again when i was 17. before sending your kids to this facility know that clearfork is NOT the place your kids will get the care they need. clearfork has SOME good staff who genuinely care and love the girls who come thru that door. my first time at clearfork i was an active self harmer and on high risks. i struggled with self harm for a few years but being in the facility brought out the worst side of myself i could ever imagine. clearfork used my restraint video (because it was one of the worst ones) the day they sent me out and used it to show new staff members for training, the second time they sent me out while i was asleep after a riot that i was NOT apart of. there is two houses in the girls campus.. one is retreat which is the house you will start at, then when u level up you will be moved to summit which is the nicer house on the girls campus. i was in summit and they sent me back down to retreat after i had told them retreat is not going to help me it will make me go backwards in any progress i made. they sent me back down anyways and the next day there was a riot the girls i was with had caused because of what the staff were doing. 6 girls restrained and they locked the rest of them in the hallway. girls were banging on the doors for them to let them out meanwhile i was being restrained in the kitchen area for crying. that night they called for me to get sent out with no reason being told to me. i was asleep and brandi which is a staff came and woke me up around 12. she told me someone was here to talk to me and to come with her.. i was half asleep with a blanket around me and they restrained me and put me in the van to send me out. no prior warning, notice, nothing. it really says a lot that the good staff that did have a heart for the girls were fired for disagreeing about what higher ups were doing. some staff were fired with no notice or talks prior to that. there were nights we couldn t brush our teeth or shower, there were nights of staff getting in girls faces and pushing them to there limits then being restrained after a girl reacted. i got detained by police one night because i went out my window into the backyard ( did not leave facility, did not try to leave facility only needed to breathe) a staff lied and said i was being aggressive because i was crying when i was told cops were here. cop attomatically detained me and took me to jps. clearfork did not call my mom nor give her any information that i was sent out. the next morning clearfork came to get me and i had a family meeting with my mom and i told her myself. clearfork also knew about a sexual situation with a past worker who worked at the facility and a few of the girls (me included) after reports were made to clearfork and i had reported it they had someone pretend to be a case worker come and talk to me only to find out clearfork NEVER filled a report or called cps. just pretended too. half of these reviews are workers or past workers who made fake reviews when was working at the facility. i could go on and on about what is wrong with the facility but one thing i will give them is there are good staff who genuinely saved my life. (amy, canlyn, marika, erika, william, randa, and melissa) the rest of them don t need to work in mental healthcare. clearfork girls campus should NOT still be open. one day it won t .

Accepted Insurance

Clearfork Academy | Teen Boys’ Campus works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are based on a model of continuing care and the premise that recovery is a life-long process requiring ongoing client support. Many rehab aftercare services include outpatient care, but clients often continue to receive support after being discharged from formal treatment. Case managers and care teams typically collaborate with clients to design their long-term care plan, which may include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction, among other services.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in Texas provides a safe environment for medical detox. This setting is crucial to provide medical care during withdrawal. Certain withdrawal symptoms can cause life-threatening conditions, but patients in a supervised clinical setting have treatment readily available to address any symptoms before they become severe. Treatment can also be provided for co-occurring physical and mental health issues.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Couples therapy helps couples learn to control emotions, trust each other, and communicate more effectively. It can be useful for short term intervention for a specific issue or for working on the relationship long term.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

What you eat has a significant effect on your mental and physical health. That's why many addiction recovery programs in Texas incorporate nutrition therapy in their treatment. This therapy teaches you how addiction affects nutrition, what foods are best to eat during recovery, and how to shop for and prepare healthy meals.

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

Experiential therapy in Texas can look different for each person. You may engage in fitness activities, community service, culinary arts, or art therapy, for example. The goal is to provide a safe setting where you can interact with your environment and work through emotions and experiences with the help of that activity and the guidance of a therapist.

i m 18 now i went to the girls campus when i was 16 and again when i was 17. before sending your kids to this facility know that clearfork is NOT the place your kids will get the care they need. clearfork has SOME good staff who genuinely care and love the girls who come thru that door. my first time at clearfork i was an active self harmer and on high risks. i struggled with self harm for a few years but being in the facility brought out the worst side of myself i could ever imagine. clearfork used my restraint video (because it was one of the worst ones) the day they sent me out and used it to show new staff members for training, the second time they sent me out while i was asleep after a riot that i was NOT apart of. there is two houses in the girls campus.. one is retreat which is the house you will start at, then when u level up you will be moved to summit which is the nicer house on the girls campus. i was in summit and they sent me back down to retreat after i had told them retreat is not going to help me it will make me go backwards in any progress i made. they sent me back down anyways and the next day there was a riot the girls i was with had caused because of what the staff were doing. This place is like a prison. The communication is awful, it is impossible to reach anyone, other than voice mails- it seems intentional that they do not EVER answer the phone, except admissions of course because they want your $$$. When someone does call you back you get the run around and transferred to half a dozen people. i am surprised this place has any positive reviews. I researched the owners and staff, thoroughly, and noticed there were fake positive reviews written by them. The "staff" stands around with their arms crossed, as if they are policing everyone. There are a ton of physical fights, and honestly this facility is trashy. There is absolutely no positive reinforcement, and although there is a volley ball net and punching bag set up outside, they aren't allowed to use it. The "school" is a JOKE, and the fake psychiatrist who is only a NP, sees over 30 kids a week at one location! The staff:client ratio is horrible, and there is absolutely nothing about this place that makes it "Christian". They have a program set up with the state, so there are kids here on ankle monitors. Oh.... make sure you do your research and find out HOW MANY kids have run away from here; some kids have run and are from out of state, and have gone missing for days and weeks at a time, ending up in the hospital. The only reason i am giving this place two stars is because the family therapist was phenomenal, and should leave this facility to open her own place (which i believe she is working on). I highly recommend parents to check out Newport Academy instead. The difference is NIGHT and DAY, and Newport is amazing! so impressive with only a 1:3 client staff ratio; therapists who care, REAL educators and education, tutoring, equine therapy, therapy animals, lots of outings off site for good behavior- like boating. ziplining, golfing, and SO much more. Save your child from this very dark prison and keep in mind many of these fake reviews are exactly that- FAKE.

When I can get in touch with someone the people here are great. Unfortunately it seems to take WEEKS of repeated emails and voicemails for anyone to take the time to reply. At this point I feel they are willfully withholding information about my son and I m very concerned. It doesn t matter how great the program may be if the facilitators can t be trusted to COMMUNICATE.

Overall, I have been thoroughly disappointed with Clearfork. I feel that they were very misleading about the program and what they offer. The faith based aspect was very important to me and I m not certain but I m suspecting there is very little faith in the program over all. But I don t know for sure because nobody will give me much information about the details of the program. And according to my son, he has to choose between Bible study and NA. Which is dumb in my opinion. Clearly, these children need both of those things. Communication is very poor. You never know who to contact about what, it changes all the time. First the main point of contact was Gloria and/or the main therapist, the therapist works Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, so there s only three days you can contact her, and Gloria no longer works at the campus my son is at and has since to be replaced. With all that being said, I am pleased with the family therapists, the individual therapists, and a lot of other things. They keep him safe, feed him good food, and keep him active.UPDATE:I feel a bit differently about Clearfork now after more time has gone by.First, I spoke to my son more about the Christian/faith aspect of things and he assured me that almost all the staff are openly Christian. So I guess I jumped to conclusions a little about that Second, as far as residential programs go, I suspect Clearfork is on the better end of the spectrum. My son has only been to one other place and it was great. But I ve done some research and been told that there are some pretty awful places out there.Third, I went to visit my son for the second time in 80ish days and I some how messed up my planning/timing and got it in my head that I didn t need to be there until 10:30 for the 9am-11am visitation!! So I pulled up and realized what I had done and ran inside and asked what time visitation is and they said 9-11. So I reacted visibly to that and expressed my disappointment with myself. And the guy was SO sweet, he let me visit with my son for 2 whole hours even though visiting hours were over.I think that is what really changed my opinion about Clearfork. It was very compassionate and while I was visiting with my son another staff member came over and said something about how he was glad we got to visit with each other and it s good for the kids etc.Communication is still difficult and the way they plan things in advance like family programs etc is still frustrating but they are keeping my boy safe, feeding him and most importantly, he is making progress and seems a teeny bit happier!!

So here is my initial review of having a loved one here. Upon drop off, we were greeted outside in the driveway of their intake home. They start here before they are moved to another home. There is a 7 day communication blackout for the child, which we knew. We were told our child would be observed around the clock for a couple of days to do vitals, check-ins, aclimation, etc. We were not allowed into the building because there were other residents. The staff consisted of a medical professional and an administrative employee. There are no tours of the grounds because of HIPPA. It was a little odd for us not to see anyone outside of the other buildings. I'd also hope that there were other staff members. Not sure. Didn't ask. I assume strict rules as to the residents going outdoors after a certain hour? We provided our contact info (email/phone) but stipulated to call vs email. If necessary, for their protection, call then follow up with email. It was a short drop-off, we said our goodbyes and departed. Facility is enclosed by fencing, clean and several buildings. Very summer camp looking. There is one building in which families will visit their loved ones at. The gate exiting the building was open and I didn't see any staff posted so I am not sure if it was always open or opened because we were leaving. During the week we called and checked in and was told so far all was well, our child was adjusting. We've spoken to a therapist and the exit counselor, who called to go over the rules. This happened a few days later. We also apparently received an email from a pretty critical staff member instead of a voice call. Again, we stipulated with all staff to call vs email. We have multiple email accounts due to work, business, and social requirements. We both get hundreds of emails daily. The expectation when a minor child is away under the care of others, who nothing is known about, honor the wishes of the client: establish voice communications always and often until told otherwise. I assume maybe it's a staffing issue in addition to CYA for the RTC, but then do both. So here's my initial take: we did/do not know what to expect except what we read from the internet and a few kids that told our teen that this place was "cool." Fact is, all that is known about any RTC is based on reviews, online news articles, and the experience of other behavioral health professionals. Fortunately, i have not located any negative news attention on this place. I will say that on my initial search for an RTC for teens, this place did NOT pop up on Google search. My partner found it at 0 dark thirty. Reading Google reviews was positive, except for a small number of citing communication issues, fights, and incompetent staff. So far, communication is 2 out of 3. The center should figure out a way to relax family members with a drop-off that is not on the driveway and a tour other than just pointing to the other buildings. I'd ask the center to figure out a way to show the grounds. Do I think there is anything to hide? No. But I'd like a little more assurance through a veil of transparency since my kid will be here for several weeks. Maybe it will come later, I just don't know. I'll keep digging and will post more as time goes on. Place does seem tranquil and all. I read the Questions and Answers on their webpage and saw that 18 year olds are here, so I will have to look into that. I was told 17 years old is max age. I'm not sure how I feel about 18 year olds in this environment...
