Convenient care is hit and miss. Tired of something always going wrong. From my son at 3 being seen 3 times and not being diagnosed with the ear infection I knew he had. To the point of him having vertigo like symptoms and us having to go to the ER. To him now being 7 and having to not have his pink eye treatment because they didn't even send it to the pharmacy. Almsot certain he will wake up with worse symptoms.

Accepted Insurance

Carle Urbana on Windsor works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) includes psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, addiction education, individual counseling and group therapy. The Intensive Outpatient Program meets four nights per week for five weeks.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hiv-aids-program thumbnail image
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS programs support disease prevention and management in high-risk individuals in recovery. Individuals who engage in intravenous drug use and other addictive behaviors are at a higher risk of becoming infected with HIV. Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.
postpartum-program thumbnail image
Postpartum Program
The postpartum period is a sensitive time, especially for women in addiction recovery. Rehabs with specialized programs for new mothers will offer compassionate, personalized care to meet each client's needs as they transition from pregnancy to this season of life. Care teams may include obstetricians, pediatricians, and social workers working collaboratively to give women, children, and families a healthy future.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Animal therapy (aka pet therapy or animal-assisted therapy) can be very healing, as it allows patients to bond with animals, who give unconditional love. This is particularly useful for those who suffered trauma by the hands of people, who may be able to trust and form closer attachments to animals than humans at certain stages of rehabilitation.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Eating disorders include anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and dysfunctional eating patterns. Many psychologists and other mental health professionals consider eating disorders to be food addictions, meaning food is being used in an addictive way (similar to drug or alcohol addiction). Certain substance abuse treatment programs will have treatment for eating disorders as one of the services offered. An eating disorder may also present as a co-occuring disorder or dual diagnosis alongside drug and alcohol addiction.

Equine therapy, aka equine-assisted therapy (EAT), is a form of experiential therapy that involves interactions and activities with horses. It does not necessarily involve riding horses, but all activities related to horses, such as feeding, grooming, haltering and leading them. A mental health professional frequently oversees the activities (often in conjunction with a horse professional), and helps patients process their thoughts, feelings, and behavior patterns during and/or after the interaction.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Hypnotherapy (aka guided hypnosis) can be used as a therapeutic modality to treat substance use, especially in terms of quitting smoking cigarettes (nicotine). Clinical hypnotherapists help clients turn their attention inward, accessing unconscious or subconscious material, and then make suggestions that are healthier for the individual. The process can help clients make deep, positive, and lasting changes, including ceasing addictive habits.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

In my 50 years in this community Carle hasn t changed still they don t care about their patients and they haven t advanced their skills in caring for patients and treat patients even more about numbers than patients. I have not found one provider at Carle who actually listens and actually documents what really happens. The medical providers are cold hearted and reckless. I have had witnesses in the room for myself in the past and been a witness for family and friends due to the inaccuracies in documentation. The medical professionals do not care about what harm has been caused. I have never gone to an appointment alone and recommend all to get copies of their medical records because they do not reflect what has actually happened in the appointment. I guess that s what happened when they take things from previous appointment or don t put things in the chart until much later. They do not document assessments, do not document observations of physical symptoms, they do not document the actual symptoms and just put personal opinion not based on actual facts and evidence. They do not like when a person is advocating for patients and will shame the advocate. This is why all the signs in the clinical rooms that do not allow recording in the rooms because they will not allow patients or patients advocates to speak up or allow evidence of the contradictions. Patient liaisons are not for patients they are there to support providers only and ensure that they cover their own.

The providers will falsify the medical records and never put in the documentation what was actually said. They have no problem destroying a patient s life because they are bias in a 10 minute appointment and don t actually listen to the patient. Then they will gaslight and manipulate you during the appointments. There is very much explicit bias, judgment, and privilege in their actions and documentation. The providers will just cut and paste without actually assessing what it put in the medical records or even talk to the patient. Patients really need to have their own advocate and record their visits. This is actually why they post for patients not to record visits because the providers actually gaslight, manipulate, and lie so much in the appointments and put in their medical records things that never actually happened. The providers don t want to be liable. Jokes on them that there s documentation for many that contradict what they put in medical records and patients absolutely need to know what goes on, get the medical records, then need go back to the provider to get it removed, then find an attorney to handle it.

While individual people are nice, this clinic has an abominable administrative workflow and process and I am very skeptical about why they don't verify insurance coverage up front like all other medical practices. We just moved here and I needed to get my son a 12 month well visit. We did intake over the phone and in person; they asked for my insurance both times and never once indicated they were out of network until after the appointment and I was quoted $2200 for a WELL VISIT with some routine vaccines. When I asked why coverage wasn't verified in advance, they said that they are unable to obtain this information until after the visit. That is unheard of, in my experience. I am 40 years old and every time you go to a new medical practice, it is standard to verify insurance coverage beyond whether it's billable so that patients don't get stuck with an out of network bill. This appears to be a deliberate lack of transparency with something fishy going on, like sticking patients with a visit fee that would never be billed to insurance because it is so high (perhaps balance billing?). In any case, everyone I spoke to claims not to be able to do insurance verification in advance of a visit, which again, is counter to standard medical office protocol, so I'm not buying it.On top of that, someone misspelled my son's first name during intake and I asked to get it changed. They also claim not to be able to do that unless I bring in his birth certificate to verify that his name is "Francisco", not "Franciso", even though I am his mother and literally no one is named "Franciso" (but this is the midwest where they are not used to "ethnic" names so what else would you expect). And generally, they need some education on correct language practices. While the doctor was phenomenal, he missed the fact that I referred to our IVF donor as a "donor" and wrote down IVF "father" in the visit notes, which does not appropriately describe our family situation. Finally, I kept getting passed around to schedule future visits such as his flu vaccine, and no one can tell me how to get that done at a Carle location that is not the Windsor clinic. One rep said schedule the flu clinic; another said it's walk-in, yet another said they are only doing them for a certain amount of time and aren't scheduling for when he needs his next dose. Luckily, the pediatrician told me that C-U has really good pediatrics in general so I will be going somewhere else, annoying as it is to have to go though the new patient process all over again.

The people who work here are wonderful. Whoever administrates needs to be aware that there are patients with pulmonary/ambulatory healthcare needs right from the front door especially if they are required to stand in line up front to check into labs in the back. They do not allow lab check-ins on the kiosks so it turns a trip to Windsor into a perfect storm for people with these issues. This is the only site I ever have issues and have witnessed others dealing with the same problems. Good administration would have addressed this ongoing problem by now. There should be a dedicated employee who can help check in and get wheelchair access for the weakest and the most vulnerable while healthier people can stand in the long line like trle, Do Better.e one I encountered today. Carle administration... Do Better!

Reproductive medicine works with unethical vendor (natera) that sends fraudulent charges to your health insurance. They know their practices, but they don't care and stress you out with thousands in denied claims. Google natera billing and see what shady things they do. They don't care about their patients and give you the kafkaesque bureaucratic run around.

If you value your money, Do NOT go to this, or any CARLE, urgent care . When you go to a CARLE Urgent care instead just paying for the doctor, you are paying two fees: 1) the fee for the doctor and the work they do and 2) a fee to the HOSPITAL for the facility. And the facility fee turns out to be more than the provider fee (at least in my case). Don't make the same mistake I did. I will not be returning to CARLE Urgent Care.
