About The Beachcomber Recovery

The Beachcomber Recovery is a residential alcohol and drug addiction treatment facility in Delray Beach, Florida. Clients who need to undergo detox will be monitored by medical professionals to make sure they have a safe withdrawal process. After a client has been stabilized, they’ll begin counseling, which will focus on developing healthy coping mechanisms and finding out the underlying causes of their addiction. The center is accredited by The Joint Commission and certified by the Department of Children and Families.

The programs that they provide are aimed at treating the emotional, psychological and physical aspects of addiction. Some of the treatment programs offered to clients are holistic therapies, medically supervised detoxification and individual and group therapy sessions.

Clients will participate in up to 30 hours of intensive clinical therapy a week. This will include five hours of therapy sessions a day, with group sessions, one on one sessions and family based treatment programs. Clients will receive a minimum of two hours of one on one sessions, with additional sessions as needed. Other services available include yoga and meditation on the beach, 12 Step meeting exercises and healthy meals. The number of residents that can stay at The Beachcomber is capped at 16 to make sure that clients get as much individual attention and treatment as possible.

The topics that will be covered during therapy include the disease of addiction, interpersonal relations and coping skills. I like that the facility also offers other health treatments that can help with recovery, such as massage therapy, physical therapy and chiropractic treatments.

I went to The Beachcomber in 2020 after 12 years struggling as an alcoholic. What I walked into wasn t what I expected after a few stints at other rehabs. They were tough, hard on us. They spoke the truth which is something I hadn t heard. I didn t get sober as soon as I left, but I did soon after and I am so thankful for the experience I had there. I advise anyone to send their loved one there for a chance at a real and amazing life. Thank you to the Beachcomber.

My name is Rebecca. I went to Beachcomber in 2020 and I have stayed sober since. Beachcomber was life changing for me. It was my first time in treatment and my greatest experience from there was laughing for the first time without drugs. I genuinely had a good time. My therapist, Mike, was amazing. The staff was great and groups were versatile, combining education with expressive therapy. I enjoyed my time and would recommend.

The Beachcomber Recovery works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
If a person with a substance use disorder continually denies their problem or refuses to get treatment, a drug intervention in Florida may be necessary. Intervention services can help mediate the intervention by providing an addiction expert. This professional can de-escalate situations and facilitate a healthier discussion between the individual and their loved ones. Specialists can also help families handle issues they don't know how to navigate on their own.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in Florida is an essential part of treatment, particularly with medical detox. Withdrawal symptoms can be severe, and supervised detox provides around the clock access to medical professionals who can adminsiter proper medications and treatment to address these symptoms and step in should an emergency occur. This intensive clinical care will help curb the withdrawal effects, minimize substance dependence, and prepare you for the next step of treatment.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Therapists who apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida believe patient thoughts and behaviors are closely linked. They use this treatment method to help clients change their thought patterns so they can also change behaviors and break free from substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Florida consists of individual therapy and group instruction. This structured program is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the development of skills for managing emotions and relationships.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

As a short term therapeutic method, motivational interviewing in Florida requires only a couple of sessions. During these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to talk about your circumstances and any discrepancies between your current situation and future goals. You'll then decide for yourself what changes you want to make.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

During couples therapy in Florida, your therapist will take steps to get to know you, help you identify feelings, explore the past, develop solutions, and help you learn skills to manage relationship challenges. This process will allow you to work through conflict and strengthen your relationship.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills are the core skills you need for daily success. They can include self care, stress management, daily routines, and emotion control. Rehab treatment includes the development of these skills so you have the tools you need for long term recovery.

Types of creative arts therapy in Florida include playing music, writing poetry, journaling, dancing, painting, and sculpting. These expressive activities can help you process emotions and work through challenges with the guidance of a creative arts therapist.

Your mind, body, and emotions interact in complex ways. Experiential therapy addresses all three of these aspects. Interactive and creative activities provide physical sensations and evoke emotional responses. These offer insight into how you interact with the world and any negative patterns you need to change.

I sent a package for my son. The people who are working in this facility were telling me they did not receive a package. I have a record that the package was delivered. They So rude and unprofessional. If you seeking for the help be aware what these people don t have any compassion but for money .The medical facility is suppose to help people who are in need. But here is not help; here there is insatiable love for money. Very greedy. They will be liable to judgment sooner or later.

If you have had enough of your addiction stopping you from being able to live a fulfilled life and that void inside just cannot be filled no matter what you do to try, then this is the best place for you to go. Small groups, expert therapists and good food is in abundance here. They really care about you and will put you to work and send you off prepared for the next phase in your life. I am not an employee and I don't work for them at all. This is the only rehab I've been to that had me working towards the goal of working the steps. If you are really ready to change for the better I HIGHLY suggest you try to get in here and just be willing to trust the process. There is not a doubt in my mind that you won't regret the changes you will go through.. no t.v. to sit around and watch but there is a beach you can go watch the sunrise at every morning and there are no techs to deal with. There is also a time each afternoon where you can walk two blocks to the beach and swim, walk or just hang out and get a change in scenery. There are hundreds of different species of exotic, beautiful plants everywhere you look on the property of beachcomber.. there is rapid resolution therapy, CBT , a great chef who gives you huge servings of amazing food( Stuffed Salmon with crabmeat, ribeye, pork chops etc . Tons of snacks to feast on, if that's what your into... ) I've been to many rehabs and I found this place to be a real blessing. Two to a room, private bathroom in the sleeping area with walk in closet to share with your roommate and plenty of time do to do real soul surgery here if that's what you need. I could keep going but you have to experience it to understand the magic that happens here. Make the call and save your life is all I can say. If you are serious about getting better there is NO BETTER PLACE THAN BEACHCOMBER... Tomorrow may never come for us, so call today and get ready for a new life .... --- S.J. Bird

Thank you for recommending us so highly, and we wish you continued strength and happiness in your newfound sobriety. I spent 29 days here. I can say with 100% confidence that this place has helped me change my life. The staff is very caring and knowledgeable. The true "magic" that happens is that that occurs withing the group. Both in the structured group sessions and the time spent with other clients, helps foster the growth and change. I clicked immediately with my fellow clients, and it became my recovery family. The people you are surrounded with become the support group that you can lean on when help is needed or if a caring ear is needed to talk to. If you are looking to get help, this is the place to go. The food provided was top notch and there is always food available. The beach that you have access to on a daily basis is beautiful and provides a welcome break when you need to feel like getting away (5-minute walk). I never saw waves like I did there and there are frequent surfers to watch. It was equal parts therapy and learning for me. 10/10 would recommend.

There is not that much to be said about recovery that is too comforting. The odds are stacked against you. The beachcomber brought much to supplement the growing process into my plan for daily living and I am great full for them. Not to mention the beautiful environment and laid back but challenging program. I developed a strong connection with other clients and staff members. I can 2nd the opinion that I had heard from others before I arrived that the only people that do not like the beachcomber are people that probably did not want recovery in the first place, 5 stars!

I got sober June 4, 1997. The Beachcomber was a blessing in my life. Joe checked me in and the staff was incredible. Stephanie and Marcel were great teachers. The entire staff was absolutely amazing. I would recommend the Beachcomber to anyone who wants to get sober/clean. I had a drug addiction and thought I was different. They taught me what my addiction was. I think the Beachcomber was the absolute best place for me. I picked up my one and only white chip on June 4, 1997.
