Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient rehabs encompass multiple levels of care to facilitate clients' progress through their recovery journey. Clients who are stepping down from inpatient treatment may require intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment, which involves more frequent and substantive therapeutic interventions than does standard outpatient care. Outpatient centers typically provide extensive addiction counseling, including individual, group, and family therapy. Medication assisted treatment programs (MAT) and recovery-focused life skills training are also common in outpatient care.

inpatient iconInpatient Rehab

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

aftercare iconAftercare

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

If a person with a substance use disorder continually denies their problem or refuses to get treatment, a drug intervention in Florida may be necessary. Intervention services can help mediate the intervention by providing an addiction expert. This professional can de-escalate situations and facilitate a healthier discussion between the individual and their loved ones. Specialists can also help families handle issues they don't know how to navigate on their own.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

24-hour clinical care in Florida is an essential part of treatment, particularly with medical detox. Withdrawal symptoms can be severe, and supervised detox provides around the clock access to medical professionals who can adminsiter proper medications and treatment to address these symptoms and step in should an emergency occur. This intensive clinical care will help curb the withdrawal effects, minimize substance dependence, and prepare you for the next step of treatment.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.

Going to white sands was one of the best decisions I've made. The staff was very helpful and did their jobs to the T . My case worker Amanda really went out of her way to get me into the after care program. The boxing class with coach Ray was fun also. Nice gym at the facility and the food was great. The groups were very informative also I learned alot about recovering.

Vibe is great and really supportive staff. Case manager Amanda really cares about her clients and goes above and beyond to help them any way she can. Food is good, fun activities, phones are allowed and unlimited smoking. Think resort with a rehab twist. Classes were really informative and I really learned the tools to take into the world to conquer my life

White Sands treatment center at plant city is probably the best rehabilitation center in all of Florida. The staff is highly competent and are always willing to help. You will receive a structured schedule of classes and recreational activities to accomplish throughout your day. They provide food three times a day plus Deli stations with sandwiches and bagels just in case you missed your meals for any reason. The rooms are comfortable, and the amenities are far beyond what you would expect for a rehabilitation center including: beach volleyball, boxing training, ping pong table, board games and puzzles among other things. If you put in the effort you will find new passions and directions for your life as well as hope for a better future. I have ti thank all the staff from therapists to BHT's for their patience and professionalism. They truly are what makes White Sands so great.

Whitesands truly saved my life. From the BHT s to the therapists, all of my peers and my case manager, my stay here was absolutely amazing. My case manager, Amanda was fantastic and had everything set up for me and am forever grateful for her and everything she did for me. My therapist, Shay was the best therapist I have ever had and wish I could keep her as my therapist going forward (love you Shay). The BHT s or techs were great and despite their being 150+ people here, did everything they could to accommodate my stay and make it comfortable for everyone. Daisha, O Shay, Danny, Zaina, Harmony, Tee, Carly, Keith (yessssirski), Brandon, Ryan, Dom, and Anthony are just some of the BHT s that I can name but all of them were great. Whitesands got me off white sand and I am forever grateful!!!

Fake reviews and don't trust anything they tell you. Understand the patient's bill of rights before you get there, look it up. Most of the staff is actually quite cool as long as you make their lives easy. It's grimy and dirty, and garbage is decorating the place. You get 1 hour a day to use the boxing area. You won't go hungry unless you have a restricted diet. Roaches are friendly though, they love to stop by and say hello! It is entertaining, remember Jerry Springer? They will keep your most valued items safely secured so not even you will lose them, no storage fees! If you really don't want to be there anymore, they will keep your phone so you don't have access to the outside world, family, your insurance provider, and anyone who may help you exercise your rights, it's protocol after all.If you get sick, they love to encourage you to get out there and spread the love!Fast-forward... After leaving a one star and processing the entire experience...I'm changing my rating. This whole finding yourself and trying to better yourself is exhausting, but external stressors exist every where you go.I'm moving on to a different program.I'm giving it 4 stars. The some classes were more than a 5 star as well as the staff.. (Deb, Shey, Danny(hope I spelled it correctly) Ryan (bio feedback!!), Angel, my case manager... Wow what a person!I say do you boo!

Deciding to go into treatment can be a scary thing for many. Entering into White Sands Plant City which for many is the first step into their recovery can seem overwhelming as you're not sure what to expect during your stay and most importantly what to do after treatment. I must give a HUGE shoutout to Zavier (Case Manager) for taking the time to meet with me over and over answering all my questions, giving suggestions, showing empathy and assisting me with my stay and aftercare plan. He is a true professional and goes above and beyond to care for you.
