Not a great experience. Got there, they had no room for me after confirming they did. Sat for 3 hours. Ended up leaving.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) is a modality based on strengthening moral reasoning, that can be used in substance abuse treatment. Originally created to help criminal offenders stop committing crimes, it is a structured approach that includes both group and individual counseling, as well as homework exercises. The MRT workbook is structured around 16 steps (units) focusing on 7 treatment issues, including building a healthy, positive identity; developing a higher frustration tolerance; and forming a strong moral belief structure. Participants meet 1-2 times weekly in groups, and can complete all steps of the MRT program in 3-6 months.

I highly recommend this treatment center for anyone experiencing drug or alcohol addiction! This is my first treatment center, and thanks to all the wonderful staff and nurses, it will be my last!! I learned so much during my 35 day stay in residential! I learned to love myself again, and some very valuable life skills by doing this program. It has changed my life significantly. I am very blessed and grateful to have had the opportunity to come here. I liked it so much, I extended my stay in the program by doing an extra 30 days in the PHP program! Long story short, this place has given me my life back and saved me when I needed it most. I very highly recommend it.!!

I want to share my personal experience at White Sands because it completely changed my life, and I hope my story inspires you to take that first step toward recovery.I recently spent 30 days at White Sands, and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I ve ever made. Like many people, I came in feeling lost, overwhelmed, and unsure of what to expect. But from the moment I walked through those doors, I was greeted with warmth, understanding, and a level of care I didn t think was possible. What stood out to me immediately was the dedication of the staff. These are not just professionals they re people who genuinely care about your well-being. During my stay, I worked with 14 different therapists who brought unique perspectives and expertise to every session. They weren t just going through the motions; they really listened, cared, and worked with me.Beyond the therapists, the facility is supported by an incredible team of 5 doctors, 11 nurses, and 17 Behavioral Health Technicians. These are the people who make sure your daily needs are met, and they do it with so much compassion. Whether it s helping with scheduling, ensuring medications are delivered on time, or just offering a kind word when you re having a tough day.White Sands doesn t just stop at the basics of treatment; they go above and beyond to ensure the recovery process feels complete. After the initial 30-day residential program, they offer a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), followed by an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that lasts between 30 and 90 days. This is what sets White Sands apart they don t just help you get sober; they give you the tools to stay sober. And if you need additional support, there s an opportunity to transition into sober living. They ensure you re not just leaving treatment; you re stepping into the next phase of your life with confidence and structure. The facility itself is incredible. From the moment you step inside, you feel a sense of peace and safety. The living areas are comfortable, with beds that feel like home, and there are plenty of smoking areas for those who need them. If you forget anything, they provide basic supplies, and you can order additional items through an internal store that delivers daily. There are two beautiful pools where you can relax, and the gym facilities are top-notch.I also tried yoga and meditation for the first time in my life, and now I can t imagine my days without them. These practices helped me find inner peace and clarity, something I had been searching for.The food at White Sands deserves its own section it s that good. The kitchen staff goes above and beyond to prepare meals that are both healthy and delicious..But what really moved me were the little things the daily AA, NA, and CA meetings held on-site for convenience, the transportation provided for outside appointments like dental visits, and even donated clothes from the local community for those who need them. These details show how much White Sands cares about the whole person, not just their addiction. One of the most impactful parts of my stay was working with their chiropractor, Dr.Danny and the massage therapist, who helped me feel physically rejuvenated. .White Sands isn t just a treatment center it s a place of healing and hope. It s a community where you feel safe, supported, and valued. They understand that recovery is not just about stopping the use of substances; it s about rediscovering yourself, rebuilding your life, and finding the strength to move forward. To anyone out there struggling, I want you to know that change is possible. I know how hard it is to take that first step, but I promise you it s worth it. White Sands gave me a chance to.get my life back. They gave me the tools to heal, the support to believe in myself, and the confidence to face the future. If you re considering treatment, don t wait. Take that leap of faith and choose White Sands. You deserve a second chance at life, and this place will help you find it.
