About Tarzana Treatment Centers

Tarzana Treatment Centers is a dual diagnosis addiction treatment center in Lancaster, California. They offer a number of clinical services, including mental and physical health treatment, addiction treatment and treatment for HIV/AIDs. Their rehab services include inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, partial hospitalization, medication assisted treatment and medical detox. They serve adults, children and adolescents. The center has a sliding scale payment system and accepts medicare, private insurance, Medi-Cal and My Health LA. The center is accredited by the Joint Commission.

This center is a standard clinic that treats a variety of issues from the common cold to behavioral health. They specialize in clinical treatment for a number of conditions, including substance use disorder. They treat addiction medically, therapeutically and with concurrent disorders such as mental and physical issues. They also offer assessment and referral for other treatment centers.

This center has a long list of treatment options that are customizable depending on a client’s needs. It’s important to note that this is a clinical rehab, so treatment will likely be psychiatric. Patients will likely be treated for dual diagnosis mental disorders that fuel addiction, such as depression, anxiety and PTSD, through medication and therapy. After treatment they also offer classes, therapy, group sessions and sober living programs to help support patients.

Unlike many treatment centers, this facility is equipped to treat younger patients, veterans and pregnant patients. The center has mostly favorable reviews from former patients, with lots of the positivity aimed at their programs.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

When addicted, quitting your drug of choice suddenly can be dangerous. That's why experts agree a medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from the body. Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

When an individual is in denial about their substance use disorder, their loved ones may organize a drug intervention in California. This effort involves gently but assertively confronting the individual about their substance use and sharing how it has affected those who care about them. A professional interventionist may also attend this gathering. Their expertise with intervention services can prove helpful in guiding the conversation to a positive result.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) support a client's sustained sobriety as they exit detox or step down from an inpatient program. IOPs are also designed for clients who are at an elevated risk of relapse. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in a minimum of nine hours of therapy per week, but clients may receive up to 20 therapeutic hours weekly. IOP treatment modalities often combine psychotherapy, recovery-focused life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is an intensive form of outpatient treatment where clients meet during the day and return home in the evening. PHP treatment doesn't require 24-hour care and often serves as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or a step-down after a residential program. With PHP treatment, you can receive daily support for 6 to 8 hours which includes evidence-based therapies and medication management. The cost of PHP treatment typically varies but averages 90 days.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

medicare iconElectroconvulsive Therapy

ECT is a form of treatment in which controlled electric currents are passed through the brain, sometimes causing short seizures. Treatments are done under general anesthesia. ECT appears to change brain chemistry for the better, and has been shown to provide fast and sometimes dramatic improvements in severe mental health conditions that can exist alongside addiction, including depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and suicidality. ECT is also often used by those who prefer it to taking medication.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

recreational-therapy iconRecreational Therapy

Recreational therapy is included in alcohol and drug addiction treatment to focus on engaging you in healthy activities that reduce your cravings and improve your overall health and well being. When you participate in group sports, art, or nature walks, you develop new interests and find a meaningful way to spend your time and reduce your cravings.

My grandson was there for two weeks. The worst two weeks of his and my life. The staff was so rude. I spent over $100 on hygiene and snacks for him, just so they can steal everything and lie that they forgot to put them in his belongings. I totally regret ever taking him th ... Read More

Employees are disrespectful and don't bother helping the people who are trying to get better. They don't help with housing as they say . I wouldn't recommend it.

The supervisors were rude and most of the staff are rude too they don t have any manners, they More strict with the rules with the girls than they are with the boys. Sometimes they take off your points without a reason. I would give this place a zero if I could. And there are only about 3 good staff that work there, that s Anna,Adrian, and Milton.

I've been with Tarzana Treatment Centers - Home Health Division for about 2 years now. I don't know what i would do with out them. They help me with so many aspects of my life such as mental health, transportation, filing grievances, CBEST, etc. They have so many resources and I never feel like I'm asking for too much or for something unattainable. They seem to have the answers or resources to my needs to help me better myself and better my life. I am grateful for them and my case manager Brianna Johnson. I live in Long Beach and they make things happen for me even though they are in Lancaster. They are always available to help with just placing a phone call. After 7 years of feeling helpless and on my own, its nice to have someone who has your back. Even if you just need to talk, they are there.

This review is for the HEALTH HOMES program based out of Tarzana Treatment Center.I can't say enough for this lifesaving program. To my understanding, they assist you by being a liason between you, your PCP, any specialist, transportation and other services. For me, they schedule appointments ( which at my clinic is horrible, you can't ever get through) and ensure I have everything needed from my providers. I often put my health last being a caregiver among other responsibilities so this service is incredibly helpful and saves me a lot of headache and time.. Carol S and the team are amazing!
