I haven't really been happy with my care since my primary retired. Actually just recently. I won't mention the primary I am seeing now. I made a call to the office of this other Dr whom was in my primary office with because I was told the Dr will see me and he was reaching out to the primary well I called the other office well the operator says you see Dr unamed and that Dr isn't taking new patients and I was informed by so and so to schedule an appointment with him. It first started when I went in for my clinical appt the medical assistant says why didn't have blood work to check my B12 before getting a shot. I said I've been having have these monthly shots because of what I deal with since 2008 which my former primary started instead of hematology doing them. I was just about to walk out when the medical assistant walked in with the injection. Now recently during my yearly lung scan I found out I have coronary and atherosclerosis. I left a message on the portal. My primary called and he says I am on the meds for this condition. My former primary put me on blood thinner because of bilateral pulmonary embolism in both legs and lungs. So because I an on this med and BP meds I wasn't referred to a cardiologist. Then on Thursday I messaged the Dr for my medication on file to be corrected in the system. I receive a printout from my specialist and it wasn't correct. I take 2 otc vitamins due to other issues and the primary now is sending 2 new meds. I told my pharmacy not to full them when I checked my profile. Swedish isn't what it use to be. When you are admitted the food choices are bad and tastes awful also

The worst ER I have visited. The wait is ridiculously long, 12+ hr wait to get seen by the doctor, and some of the nurses in the front at the reception area are really rude and have an attitude when asking a question. If this hospital is understaffed why not close it down. The employees are just getting overworked causing them to have attitude and it causes the patients who are already in pain to keep suffering due to the long wait and get disrespected on top of that.

Hello Maria, We are sorry you had to wait. Unfortunately, due to the walk-in nature of the Emergency Room, volumes can fluctuate and we do our very best to provide high quality, efficient care to as many patients as possible. I have shared this feedback with our Emergency Department as we take all feedback seriously. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact our Patient Experience Team directly at healthdesk@eehealth.org.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Swedish Covenant Hospital offers inpatient psychiatric services for adults age 18 and older in crisis situations. They have a collaborative, multidisciplinary team working in a safe, healing environment. During the treatment, patients have access to psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurses, mental health counselors, social workers, occupational therapists, recreational therapists and art therapists to help them recover to join an outpatient program and return to the highest possible level of functioning.
outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from mental health also suffer from chemical dependence. Admitted patients include those who suffer an acute psychiatric disorder or a dual diagnosis of psychiatric and chemical dependence. This condition can be managed on the unit.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Eating disorders include anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and dysfunctional eating patterns. Many psychologists and other mental health professionals consider eating disorders to be food addictions, meaning food is being used in an addictive way (similar to drug or alcohol addiction). Certain substance abuse treatment programs will have treatment for eating disorders as one of the services offered. An eating disorder may also present as a co-occuring disorder or dual diagnosis alongside drug and alcohol addiction.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

This review is not for the hospital. This review is for the neurology center garden pavilion. The facility itself has very limited parking out front. There s a parking garage to the right of it, so it may be a little difficult for disabled patients or those who have limited mobility when walking. The neurology center does have a close entrance to the parking garage, but unfortunately those doors are reserved only for employees only. I think the entrances should be switched and the employees get the door farther from parking while the wide doors with the disability ramp should be for patients and near the parking garage. That s the reason for docking a star. That said, the workers at the facility, specifically the front desk lady that checked us in (unfortunately i forget her name), and Dr. Musleh herself have been fantastic.

If I could give this hospital zero stars I would. My father has diabetes and he was sent to the hospital today because of his blood sugar. His doctor was being extremely unprofessional, mistreated him, and was physically aggressive when treating him. Once my father pointed it out, the doctor gave him attitude and wasn t concerned about his own behavior. Once my father left, he forgot his all day bus card pass and his PRESCRIPTION, so he returned but they refused to give it back. Their excuse for not giving it back was no you been gone . What kind of behavior is that? I see this hospital has less than 3 stars and now it makes sense. What disgrace to call this a hospital. If you search up the definition of a hospital, it says an institution providing medical and surgical treatment and nursing care for sick or injured people. Key words here are providing medical and care and clearly this hospital can t do that. Might as well pack it up and leave.

I was given three pregnancy tests (despite considerable evidence that this was impossible and irrelevant to my reason for coming to the ER), the wrong part of my body was imaged, and then I was accidentally (and in violation of EMTALA) marked discharged, so I didn't see a doctor for 9 hours. There were a few more minor mistakes as well (accidentally gave me the wrong med, etc).

Was recently admitted to Swedish Covenant for about 4 days to one of the critical care units and was extremely well taken care of. Every single staff person I interacted with was patient, kind and competent. Every procedure was explained in detail. Every question answered.Don't think I've ever written a review (whether positive or negative) for a hospital, but I really felt like the staff and their efforts needed to be acknowledged. Thank you for taking such good care of me!
