About STR Behavioral Health – Silver Pines

Silver Pines Treatment Center is a rehab facility located in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania. They provide treatment to adults 18 years and older who are struggling with addiction and dual diagnosis disorders. The levels of care available include medical detox and residential treatment. This facility also offers services to veterans and individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community.

Treatment includes a nutrition program and a variety of therapies such as yoga, wilderness, trauma and holistic therapy. They accept a variety of private insurances, and for alternative payment options, they work with M-Lend Financial. It is similar to taking out a loan for student loans but instead it would be for treatment.

When seeking treatment, medical detox may be most appropriate due to possible complications or impact of addiction and the effects it has on your body. You will be under medical supervision while you are here until you are stabilized and able to continue treatment in residential care. While you are in residency they will help you develop a treatment plan so you can get the best level of care and continue your healing.

Nutritional therapy will help you gain more clarity and knowledge on what foods and healthier lifestyle choices can benefit you. This can help with boosting energy, reducing chronic pain, strengthening your immune system, and helping lower the chances of illness.

Their holistic therapy focuses on your overall well being which includes your mind, body and spirit. Meditation breathwork, sound therapy, aroma therapy, reiki, wellbriety movement meetings and spiritual counseling are some of the therapies they use. What sticks out to me the most is the benefits to these therapies which help with stress management, reduce anxiety and depression, and strengthen your spiritual wellness. This can help you stay motivated with keeping up with self care and assists in helping you build up more resilience.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

12-step icon12-Step

12 step programs prioritize the recovery journey as a life-long process based on personal spiritual growth and ongoing peer support. Regular attendance at 12 step meetings, which are held multiple times each day in most communities, is expected. Participants also receive one-on-one mentoring by a self-selected peer sponsor. The 12 steps are designed to encourage participants' self-compassion, awareness, acceptance, and accountability. Dedicated programs for specialized groups, including seniors, teens, and families, are common.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

Because the severity of withdrawal symptoms can fluctuate, constant monitoring under 24-hour clinical care in Pennsylvania is recommended for early recovery. As you undergo detox, medical staff will supervise your health and ensure severe symptoms do not develop or threaten your life. Professional counselors will also be available to treat mental and emotional health needs.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

A medical detox is the safest way to wean your body off drugs and/or alcohol in an inpatient setting. When detoxing from addictive substances, the physical and psychological side effects of withdrawal can cause mood swings, anxiety, nausea, or flu-like symptoms. In medically assisted detox, a team of medical professionals are on hand 24/7 to help alleviate potential withdrawal symptoms, administer medications to alleviate withdrawal symptoms, and ultimately keep you safe and comfortable throughout this process.

aftercare iconAftercare

Clients receiving services from a rehab aftercare program are usually stable and in the maintenance phase of recovery, having completed detox and/or intensive inpatient treatment. Rehab aftercare services can vary widely based on clients' individual and evolving needs, but often include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, 12 step program induction, and medical, mental health, and social service referrals. Individual care plans are typically developed by the client in partnership with their case manager and care team.

This is my 2nd experience with Silver Pines as a family member of someone who has received treatment there. They have always exceeded our expectations. Everyone has gone above and beyond to care for my loved one and to answer any questions or concerns I may have. I cannot thank them enough. I believe they have helped my loved one so much and have significantly contributed to his success in his journey. Huge thanks to the admissions staff (Shay and Zach) and Jimmy and Jenn C. for helping get my loved one to treatment safely. Mace, you run a phenomenal family program, and you have helped me so much navigate and heal through this challenging journey. And there are so many other staff members who have made this hard time more manageable and less stressful than anticipated. So thank you! We as a family will forever be grateful and we would highly recommend Silver Pines!

I ve never been to a treatment center before, nor do I plan to. That being said, silver pines set the bar exponentially high. From the time I entered, I was treated with absolute care and respect from all members of the staff, and the community. I can go on and on, about how great everyone was from Angie, my CM, Jesus, my primary counselor, and to Jimmy, Laura, Megan, Ronae, Alisha, Nick, Brian, Ryan, Randy, Chelsea, Harley, and Roxanne (sorry if I missed anyone). The care coordinators. I, in my opinion chose the absolute best place for me, to begin my recovery. And also a huge shout out to chef Dre, and her staff, for ensuring, all of mine as well as my colleagues nutritional needs were met. Great food and overall great snacks and friendly staff. I would 10 out of 10 recommend this place to anyone in need of some help.

My stay at Silver Pines was great! The tone was set by my interaction with Zach in admissions. I often refer to him as my guardian angel. He made the logistics of getting me to treatment a top priority, and even came back to work to greet me as I arrived. The nursing staff were very warm and made it a point to build a relationship with you as a client. Thanks Lori and Karen in particular.I enjoyed the ease and freedom I was afforded by Silver Pines with my treatment. Being able to choose different types of therapies and programs benefited me a great deal. For anyone looking for a treatment center that offers a holistic approach, this one is for you.The heart and foundation of Silver Pines - the care coordinators! I owe a debt of gratitude to the entire staff, with a special shout-out to: Doug, Jimmy, Nick, Ryan, Laura and Ronea. Their passion for helping and caring for people is so apparent. Thanks again, Silver Pines.

Do not go here. If you're looking for staff that are honest, supportive, patient, understanding and caring; a program that offers multiple therapeutic options (such as holistic or athletic); great and HEALTHY food . Go to the ranch. I promise. Silver Pines is a joke in comparison. It was very important to me to go to a place that offered holistic therapy options, which they led me to believe were available everyday. (There was one group session in the two weeks I was there.) I was assigned to a counselor who never even got to having one session with me in two weeks but kept assuring me she ll get to me and to stick with her. There were two separate nights that I missed dinner due to being in meetings with staff, and when I showed up to the cafeteria late, I was basically told I was SOL because they had no food left except maybe a little bit of a side dish. Had multiple other clients there steal from my room and even use my shower stuff (razor, loofah, soap) to which the staff didn t even say anything to them about it. A male client repeatedly left notes written on my journal paper with my pens (which came from out of my drawer) on my bed/under my pillow which they again did nothing about until he had gone in my room at least 5 times when no one was there. When I finally got to contact my family and they called the facility with valid concerns, instead of addressing their shortcomings, they kicked me out for missing a mandatory group meeting, which my counselor excused me from attending because I was having a meeting with her over the creepy old stalker leaving notes in my bed. This place is pathetic and horrible and if you have any standards go to the ranch instead.

Hi Kinley. Although we currently don't have a record of your attendance at our treatment facility, we are committed to providing superior treatment through personalized programs. We offer various holistic therapy groups every Tuesday to Thursday along with 24/7 access to food for all individuals in our care (no one in recovery is ever denied nourishment). Feedback is very important to us, and if you d like to speak with our Executive Director, Matt Bartos, regarding your review, you can reach him at 570-773-5388, extension 301.
