My experience at Jackson house recovery center, is an experience I will forever embrace. The tools the wonderful staff, from Joyce(director) to Rohan(PSA) will forever be grateful for their time and care for us. Kevin the discharge planner alone made me feel as if I was at the right place. Nani has the leadership that s rare to come by,Marisa energy is amazing to be around. Monica will always set me straight. Anthony s old soul at a young age brings me happiness and peace. Wishing everyone the best in life, thank you for making me double confident into checking in to recovery. Alumni meetings here I come. Thank you again.

Completing my program at Jackson House has been a transformative journey, and I want to share my experience in hopes it can help future clients understand what to expect and what makes Jackson House a unique place to recover.What I Loved: From day one, the nursing staff was outstanding truly professional, knowledgeable, and sincerely committed to each client. Their consistency and warmth created a stable environment, and they went above and beyond to ensure we were cared for in every way. The kitchen team was equally impressive; the meals were well-prepared and comforting, and they put care into each plate.The counselors at Jackson House genuinely care about each client s success. They re dedicated and driven by a real desire to see us thrive, which made it easier to connect with them. And I can't say enough about the PCA team especially Kaitlyn, Rowan, and Anthony. They felt like family, bringing authenticity, compassion, and consistency that I will always appreciate. I am truly indebted to these incredible individuals. It s clear that service gives them purpose, and their passion shines through every day.A Few Suggestions for Improvement: One area that could be improved is helping new clients settle in by introducing the staff s names, roles, and qualifications early on. Knowing who was who would have helped me get comfortable faster. In a vulnerable environment like rehab, these details matter and make a difference in how quickly we can feel secure.Regarding programming, I appreciated the daily H & I panel brought in from outside, which is usually AA-based. However, I think a more balanced approach would have been even more beneficial. Including a mix of SMART Recovery or Dharma Recovery panels along with AA would provide clients with a variety of perspectives and methods. This would help accommodate different recovery needs and give clients a chance to explore approaches that might resonate with them individually.I also noticed that staff communication could be more consistent. There were times when different counselors would give conflicting information or directions. A more cohesive approach, where staff members communicate with each other before relaying information to clients, would improve clarity and help clients feel more supported and secure.Additionally, I think adding a few more offsite experiences maybe a beach trip or another field outing every couple of weeks could have enriched the healing process. For many of us, those moments to connect with nature are therapeutic and refreshing.Room for Improvement in Group Sessions and Consistency: While Jackson House provides many group sessions, some could benefit from a clearer focus. A few groups seemed to lack a defined objective, and at times, it felt as if prep work was overlooked. Consistency in rule enforcement would also create a more structured and supportive environment.The Power of Community: What makes Jackson House truly special is the community that forms among the residents. We re all there working toward the same goal, and that shared purpose fosters connections that go deep full of tears, laughter, challenges, and breakthroughs. The bonds I built with fellow clients were some of the most meaningful parts of my stay, and the support and accountability we gave each other were priceless.My advice for future clients: Get ready to put in the effort, and don t shy away from the hard parts. As Frederick Douglass said, If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Jackson House offers an environment where, if you re willing to invest in yourself, you ll see real growth.Thank you, Jackson House, for giving me a safe space to rebuild and for guiding me through this crucial time. The dedication of the staff and the strength of the community made all the difference.
