This place does help people but the place only cares about the money it brings in and the bonuses management gets. Management has favorites and offers more money to them that threaten to leave and pays them more that stays. If they really don't care for you it's just let them go. Twenty some employees have left there since I returned the 2nd time within a year. Where are the red flags and why has Corporate not been there to see as why all these people quit. Nobody cares your just a number.

Accepted Insurance

Pinnacle Treatment Centers – Pulaski Medical works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When you enroll in drug rehab in Virginia, a treatment plan is designed by professional staff in order to help you overcome drug addiction and modify addictive behaviors. This may include evidence-based treatments, group and individual therapy, and relapse prevention.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Used to be amazing, now the new management has shortened the dosing hours three times within a year to a ridiculously small window on Sundays and Holidays. They claim to have a late dose policy because occasionally something will happen, this is life afterall. Yet, if you actually try to use that policy, the front desk just lies and makes up new rules that aren t stated in the written policy.(Shawna claimed I had to call at least 15 minutes before closing to get a one day late dose exception; but, according to their latest policy which I took a picture of, you only have to call before closing and get there within 15 minutes of facility closing. Both of which I did. In fact, even though she said that, I was less than 3 minutes away and arrived at rhe facility anyway, just to see that there was still at least 6 patients and all the workers still in the building. At three minutes late. After calling prior to them closing. So why did she make up new rules specifically to keep me from using a late dose exception? What was the point in that? Why do I see the same people show up late week after week, but the one time I need to use, the receptionist is feeling extra lazy/mean/idk and can stop me in my tracks simply because she wanted to do so??)Leaving people unable to medicate just because you CAN is beyond me. You shouldn t be working at a facility where you help people if you don t actually want to HELP people. Follow your own policies. That s not asking a lot.If anyone else opened a clinic nearby, this one would have a real run for its money. The only reason they stay so full is because there are currently no other options within an hour driving distance. Anytime a for-profit buissness gets a regional monopoly, this what you end up: workers who dont care and terrible customer service. Avoid this place at all costs if you can.Update as of 10/2023: this place is absolutely horrible and getting worse every single day. I never thought a clinic could be run so poorly. For example, their solution to the arbitrary use of the late policy complaints was to get rid of late dosing completely. Now you have to come in 7 days a week, and on Sundays you have one whole hour, from 7am-8am. How generous of them! But what s most frustrating is that they target people at this clinic. I ve seen it happen time and time again. I don t know if it s their treatment team or certain nurses or who exactly is making these executive decisions to harass people, but there are clearly favorites at this small town clinic. If you re one of the favored little meth heads, you can get weeks of take homes that they turn around sell openly as soon as they get outside the clinic (I know because I ve been approached multiple times. Smh.), but don t you dare struggle with drinking a few glasses of wine at night oh no, if you even have a single drink they will make your life absolutely miserable and hound you until you re ready to lose your mind. Because you know, meth is cool legal alcohol however, is not. It s beyond frustrating and at the point where I m willing to extend my drive by an hour round trip every day just to get away from this place. Whatever you do, don t come here. Don t do it to yourself. I have a hard time believing that this place actually gives a whit about individualized therapeutic treatment, because I know for certain that my sobriety was in a far stronger place before I ever stepped a foot into this building.

Most of my experiences have been positive since becoming a patient there in January 2022. They have a friendly staff, normal wait times, and a satisfactory conflict resultion, so overall I would give it a 8 out of 10.I was looking over some of th reviews, and I thought I was the only one having issues with the drug testing, come to find out thisis a regular occurrence there. I know personally that I've had a few tests come back negative after being told they were positive for different substances and that is completely unacceptable. Some people have a lot to lose from inaccurate readings or false positives results.

I'm not a patient but have a family member that is. In the past two weeks they have called, texted and left voicemails for 10 straight days with their counselor who has yet to respond. Not sure why the counselor seems to think this is acceptable. A month ago when she actually answered her phone the first thing she said was "You have 5 minutes I'm extremely busy, it might be better if you called me back" So basically if you have an issue you're better off to resolve it on your own??Like many others have said the UA chain of custody is not being followed according to the SAMHSA guidelines. If your UA sample reads negative on the 8 or 12 panel container why are they still being sent to a lab for further analysis? Why waste the money on a 12 panel drug test? Why not use a clear container if they are being sent to the lab regardless of the results. Also why are patients being told they cannot get a copy of their test results. Doesn't HIPPA apply? The HIPAA Privacy Rule establishes individual rights over their protected health information, including rights to examine and obtain a copy of their health records, to direct a covered entity to transmit to a third party an electronic copy of their protected health information in an electronic health record, and to request corrections. This is not the way to help someone in recovery!***UPDATE***Since I last posted the "family member" I mentioned has been assigned a new counselor based on their original counselor taking another position within the company. The new counselor so far has been a marked improvement over the last one.I would like to add that the previous counselor was not a bad person or it wasn't that they weren't qualified to do the job, what I believe to be the issue is their individual patient load was larger than what they were able to handle.I also think it's worth mentioning the insane amount of work that Pinnacle Treatment Centers, Inc. went through just to receive a certification to open the Pulaski Clinic and maintain compliance with the opioid treatment standards set forth by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) the governing body that oversees all clinics that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder (OUD) in opioid treatment programs (OTPs) in conjunction with the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) just to name a few that are at the Federal level. There's also the State Opioid Treatment Authority (SOTA) and others at the State level and let's not forget the local agencies that are also involved in this never ending network of agencies that make the rules and regulations that pertain to these types of treatment centers. All of the above can be found in CFR > Title 42 > Chapter I > Subchapter A > Part 8: Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorders.

This place is horrible, I ve been coming here for years and never gave this place or staff any problems , passed all my DT s and came in for bottle checks . After a incident that happened to me and my wife and the way the DOCTOR AND DOSING NURSES treated us . Im leaving this place and going somewhere else. And that s another issue I ve put in for a transfer of my medical papers last week , and they still have not done it for me . I ve asked everyday to please do so and it s been a week and still have not done it . Not only that but the way they run this place is awful all the seats in the place are completely stained with god knows what and nasty one even has a dang cigarette burn in it ?? And don t get me started on bathrooms . If I was a women , I would bring a bottle of bleach with me everyday just in case of dt and spray the seat before I set down . It s worse than a 7-11 bathroom In Baltimore city and im not even exaggerating. I was in here two days ago when I guy came in STATING HE HAD SCABIES on his arms and his arms was bleeding and he quoted he just failed for TB , and instead of the staff or nurses removing him or making him wear protective suit . they told him to take a seat where other ppl are and told him to wait for his consular!! I feel sorry for who ever set in that seat after him . And there are MANY witnesses to this . This is how much this place cares about patients. I have called the main PINNACLE COMPLAINT LINE AND HAVE MULTIPLE INVESTIGATION NUMBERS IVE CALLED NUMEROUS TIMES ABOUT HOW DIRTY THIS PLACE IS AND HOW THERE TREATING PPL AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE OR SAID ABOUT IT . All PINNACLE HAS TO DO IS SEND SOMEBODY ON A RANDOM DAY AND THEY WOULD SEE HOW BAD THIS PLACE IS . READ THE REVIEWS PPL ARE LEAVING , LOOK AT THE REVIEWS OF OTHER CLINIC IN THE AREA AND SEE HOW MANY PPL HAS TRANSFERRED FROM PILASKI MEDICAL OVER THE DOCTOR , OVER THE BATHROOMS EXT AND HOW THEY HAVE BEEN TREATED!! IF YALL DONT DO SOMETHING SOON I CANT SEE THIS PLACE STAYING OPENED TOO MUCH LONGER .
