About Pillars Recovery

Pillars Recovery, located in Costa Mesa, California, is an alcohol and drug rehab center that provides addiction treatment to men and women. Their continuum of care supports individuals through all phases of treatment. They accept most insurance plans.

Pillars Recovery begins their treatment programs by offering an assessment. Their programs include residential treatment, detox, a partial hospitalization program and outpatient treatment.

The residential program is for those who need a high level of supervision. Individual therapy, group therapy and skills classes are provided.

The detox process includes withdrawal management and helping clients safely and effectively remove harmful substances from their bodies.

The partial hospitalization program provides treatment for six hours per day. Clients engage in therapy, relapse prevention and process groups.

The outpatient program offers therapy, referral support services and self help groups.

Aftercare may be available once treatment is completed. These services provide ongoing support for long term recovery.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

Sober living homes in California offers an intermediate sober environment that has less structure than inpatient rehab but more than typical home environments. This makes it a good option for those who have concerns about transitioning back to the "real world" after treatment. Residents can typically live at the halfway house as long as they want, if they are willing to follow house rules. These may include a curfew, chores, and maintaining a job.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

During the first phase of recovery – detox – it is crucial to have 24-hour clinical care in California. This care provides constant monitoring in order to ensure your safely and comfort as you progress through the withdrawal process for drug or alcohol addiction. Licensed professionals prescribe medications to treat withdrawal symptoms and provide frequent monitoring to ensure your safely as addictive toxins leave your system.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

When addicted, quitting your drug of choice suddenly can be dangerous. That's why experts agree a medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from the body. Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Idk with this place is supposed to be but rehabilitation and recovery it is not !!!!!! The staff are kids with zero experience and and barely recovering from addiction. One boy is still in treatment and has been for 15 months HA! I arrived on 3/10 and they didn't give me my prescription psychological medicine until 3/22 and the doctor is a whack job who writes the same medication for everything and overdoses you on serotonin! There is no schedule that anyone goes by and they graduate people based on what they can afford. If you have no insurance and can't afford the stay than you graduate in 30 days but if your insurance covers the stay they keep you 90 day and charge $3000 a day. They advertise luxury outings and nice things but only let you take short walks to the beach and won't let you have your wallet . They cater meals that aren't fit to feed my dog! I would give pillars recovery-3 stars but unfortunately I can't. I really hope the state shuts this place down so it stops destroying lives.

I can t express my gratitude enough for the program that this treatment facility has to offer for an individual who is willing and ready to be free from addiction. I was alone & afraid. Hopeless & lost.Frustrated & altered. The staff opened the doors to freedom the first day I arrived but I was blind and could not see this because I was to busy looking for all the bad things. Because that is what I was use to, Unaware of the help that was being given to me by this Heaven sent Facility. The staging/setup that this family orientated treatment facilityis awesome. I can say that it WORKS ONLY IF YOU WORK IT. I am clean and sober. Because the staff cares enough to get up and leave their families every day and devote their time to help out with the struggle of addiction. Thank you all who inspired me to know what it means to be free from a life of addiction. I really miss this place because of the way they made me feel while under going treatment.

Pillars has given me the opportunity to change my life around. The staff and people I got to be around made my experience more than enjoyable. I was provided with life skills and tools to become independent and relieve me from constant cravings and feeling of being trapped in my own head. Pillars has helped me branch off to a sober living and gain employment, the support they have to offer is there as long as you take direction and do what s suggested you will 100% get out of it what you came for. If you are seeking a solid program, good support, and an introduction to a drug and alcohol free life, this is the place to be! Thank you pillars for everything you ve helped me achieve! I would like to give a special thank you to the staff, therapists and case managers. They always keep your best interest in mind and advocate for your Wants and needs. The love and support is unforgettable.

I came into Pillars not knowing what to expect because it was my first time in recovery. I was pretty anxious. Pillars helped me save my life. The staff there is amazing. Special thanks to Erin, Jessica, Amber and the other nurses for making me feel comfortable and seeing to my needs. Also thanks to Michelle and Manny for being real and making it fun. Big shout out to Lorenzo, my case manager. Lorenzo really brought it, with step work, group sessions and one on one time. He was a good one to connect to, because he s lived it and can share his story and how to heal. So if I could suggest to go anywhere, it would be Pillars in Costs Mesa. Lorenzo and the team there literally saved my life.

I was blessed to be at the out patient portion of Pillars. Like many others who suffer from Alcoholic disease I arrived after a mild at home detox but mentally and emotionally felt lost and not worth the time. Yet over time the the entire staff and groups helped to see there is life awaiting if you follow the process.

I recently completed their 90 day program, and am now transitioned into a sober living house. Before going into treatment, I was in a really bad place physically, mentally, and spiritually, but since then, I am no longer homeless, miserable, or putting myself or others in danger. I communicate with family and friends daily rather than living in complete isolation. I'm getting my life back in order one step/day at a time. I am no longer living in FEAR. I will be forever grateful to have been given the opportunity for recovery, for ALL of Pillars hard working, experienced staff who were some of the most compassionate people I've ever known, the support, skills, resources, case management, fellowship, and so much more that they provided me. It is truly a blessing! This is a dual diagnosis program, so I also received 1:1 therapy (on site) and trauma therapy with an EMDR specialist, which I feel was very important in my recovery. Although I have completed the program, I am still in contact with them because they genuinely care about people, and want to make sure that we know that we are not alone in our recovery, and life in general. Today, I have 128 days clean and sober with the help of Pillars Recovery Center. I am looking forward to continued sobriety, new adventures, and a new life!

I only did the out patient program here, not the full residential detox so I will only be speaking to my experience with the out patient program.I have too many good things to say about Pillars. The staff seems to genuinely care about each individual patient but they also won't sugar cote everything and tell you "everything's going to be alright". They have a great variety of meetings geared toward educating people about how to live a sober life, as well as fun little excursions. In my tenure, as a group we went to the beach to play volleyball and a trampoline park just to name a few. They have even given me opportunities to go back and help people who are in the same exact situation I was. I don't know where I would be without Pillars, it was truthfully one of the best decisions I've ever made, and I hope you make it too.

This place is AWFUL. Look into Windward Way. Windward Way is the absolute best dual diagnosis treatment in the area. I say this out of my experiences with both places. Pillars cares about location & not what they have to offer when it comes down to treatment. They have unqualified group facilitators. I couldn't believe the way my case managers/staff had spoken to me. & everytime I voiced my concerns, I was belittled. Please don't give them your money, because that is ALL they are after.

I came to Pillars lost and broken, not knowing what was wrong besides being an alcoholic. Through the guidance I recieved I wasn't healed, because my disease won't just leave but I was able to learn to live happy and be ok with myself without the use of drinking. I owe my happiness and sobriety to everyone here for what they've taught me about how to live.

The road to sobriety is a very difficult one, to be sure, and for most people, going it alone is impossible. For me, after a dozen arrests, losing massive amounts of money and opportunities still couldn t break me of the downward spiral of alcohol abuse, and my options were becoming narrowed down to prison or treatment.I must admit, I was resistant to begin with, but spending time in a beautiful home with other people with similar problems and the staff at Pillars Recovery helped me to see that there is a whole new life that I am able to live. The program is based on solid science and features some progressive techniques to help you navigate the recovery process. I won t say that it is easy to give up substances as a coping mechanism, but the group therapy at Pillars has given me new skills to deal with the painful pull of drugs and alcohol- my former quick fix, for dealing with emotional pain.Recovery is an ongoing process, so there is no quick fix to the malady that affects so many people in our society, but if you or someone you care about is suffering from addiction, I highly recommend that you check into Pillars and start on a new path.I m now over 1 year sober, and thanks to the staff at Pillars I cannot see myself returning to my former torturous existence. I highly recommend this program, and wish you or the person you love good luck in your battle with addiction.
