About Adapt+ Behavioral Health at PeaceHealth Southwest Specialty Clinic

The partial hospitalization program allows individuals to participate in up to 30 hours of therapy each week. Individual counseling, group therapy, skills classes, educational programming, medication evaluation, and psychiatric care are available. Clients may work with staff to determine the length of treatment needed to address their personal areas of challenge.

The intensive outpatient program is designed for those who need less support than the partial hospitalization program provides. Clients generally meet three times per week for three hours of treatment at a time. Therapy, peer support, skills-building classes, and psychoeducational classes on topics related to recovery are provided. Once a person completes this program, they may be encouraged to step down into an aftercare program.

Peace Health Southwest – Behavioral Health accepts most insurance plans, including Medicaid, Medicare, United Healthcare, TRICARE, HCSC, Wellmark, and more. Out of network benefits may vary, so it’s important to verify coverage with your provider prior to starting treatment.

Accepted Insurance

Adapt+ Behavioral Health at PeaceHealth Southwest Specialty Clinic works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
With a partial hospitalization program (PHP), individuals can receive intensive rehab with the ability to return home each day. PHP treatment is often an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or a step-down option. PHP treatment typically requires at least 20 hours per week for approximately 90 days. Common components of PHP treatment plans include relapse prevention, medication management, and behavioral therapy services. Insurance coverage for PHP treatment is typically available, though coverage specifics depend on your insurance provider.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction treatment emphasize the importance of personalized care. Your therapist works with you to understand your unique life experiences and develop effective coping mechanisms to address your underlying issues. This comprehensive approach to recovery is the foundation of drug rehab.

The goal of trauma therapy is to help you heal from the aftereffects of a traumatic experience. Your therapist will provide you with a safe and supportive space to process these trauma memories and develop better coping strategies that enhance your emotional resilience.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

I had been through treatment programs before, but I always went to a program for my wife or family. When I came to Peace Health I finally came to treatment for myself. I finally realized that staying sober had to be my number one priority.

Im only giving 5 stars because the staff here is nice and they listen well and always help out when my husband has stomach episodes. My husband and i came in again today first time in a few months he's gotten sick like this, he has a cancerous cyst in his esophagus that causes issues with his stomach so he s on a special diet until we find out what triggers him. Sometimes he eats something that sets him off and he ends up puking and dry heaving until he cant stand and he can t keep any fluids down so i bring him here to get an IV with fluids so he doesn't dehydrate! The doctors, the nurses, the medical assistants, everyone here is wonderful they always listen to me and do great with him. What saddens me is today i was in the waiting room with him and there was a hand full of people staring at him while he was puking and dry heaving, and making comments and telling people not to sit next to us because they thought he was contagious even though i had clarified he is not and that its a pre existing condition. It became so uncomfortable to the point i wheeled my husband into the hallway and waited there and stood in front of him so no one could stare. Everyone in the waiting room didn't even show signs of being sick, no one was coughing or puking or pale or had any visible sickness. They all just sat around on their phones chit chatting and staring at my husband and making comments, and half of them got into a room before my husband who is in agonizing pain. One of the women in there kept announcing that she had cancer, and was even being disrespectful to the staff, and talking down of the staff saying no one here knows how to do their job, she offered me these odd candies for my husband and I politely turned her down and she immediately caught an attitude. Y all need to grow up. Im sure if you were in my husbands position or my position you wouldn t enjoy that either. So folks think before you speak.

Adapt turned my life around. Its intense, but you learn so much from different perspectives, the environment is so supportive, and they give you access to a dietician, grief counselor, psychiatrist, and Occupational Therapist. They also offer individual counseling. Adapt gave me the hope I've never had about my mental health.

I would like to give feedback about my time at ADAPT. I did 8 full days and 2 short days within about a 2 week period. When you first go, you do an orientation of sorts and fill out paperwork, do an intake interview, get a tour, etc. That takes up a bit of time so on the first day you wont be in classes/group session in the morning. Each day when you get there you sign in, fill out a pain assessment sheet and can ask for Tylenol, you can also order lunch if you want some thing from the Safeway deli (they have forms to fill out), and you can also fill out a form to talk to the psychologist.GOAL PLANNING GROUP8:45-9:35AM each day is a Goal Planning group. There usually some kind of ice-breaker or get-to-know-you question. You fill out a sheet of paper that asks about you mood on a scale 1-10. It also asks when your graduation day is. It also has a spot to put down who will be prescribing you medicine when you leave and who will be your counselor or therapist when you leave. Then it asks for your "Recovery Vision" (your hopes and dreams for your life). Then it asks you to identify a problem or barrier that you want to work on that day. You set a goal and you write down steps you can take towards your goal and then it has room to say which of the classes you don't want to be pulled out of if they end up pulling you out for any reason (usually visits with the psychologist, social workers, occupational therapist, nurses, etc).During this time the participants also get to help choose what "classes" or "groups" will be done that day. There's 4 spots available for classes each full day (short days usually have 3 classes). Some times they already have some of spots filled up with pre-planned classes/groups. They try to teach some of the same things each week or every other week (like medication, Omsbudsman, grief & loss, addiction 101, support group, etc). But usually the participants get to democratically decide between 2-4 classes each day. During the morning goals session you learn which of the facilitators will be teach which time slots and then you, as a group, can choose from a list of classes that facilitator teaches. Some facilitators teach there often and have a long list of classes to choose from. Some don't teach there as often or just have shorter lists of classes to choose from. And they don't like repeating certain classes more than once every 2 weeks. Also during this time, there usually a participant who volunteers to be a peer greeter (basically the peer greeter is nice to new people and offers to sit with them on lunch or breaks, etc). They do have a sheet of paper that explains the peer greeter role (like you aren't a therapist so don't feel like you have to solve someone problems, etc). And during this time the peer greeter chooses a word of the day from a list of words they have. This is a good time because you get to hear from others and pick what to do that day.CLASSESAfter that goal planning group there is a long break because the staff takes all the sheets and what classes were chosen and they have a meeting to help plan out the day, etc. There's usually classes from 10:10-11am, 11:10am-12pm, then lunch from 12-1p (on short days the lunch is only half an hour), then classes from 1-1:50p and 2-2:50p.After each class you write down a little feedback on a review sheet.GOAL REVIEW GROUPThen at 2:50-3:20 there's a chance to review the day. Again, each participant fills out a form that asks how they are different than they were in the morning. It asks how physically safe you were able to keep yourself and it asks your mood from 1-10. They do have a chart that helps you choose your mood score. Then the form asks how your efforts got you closer to your goals. The form also asks what problem(s) need more of your attention. It also asks what skills or information did you learn that is part of your treatment plant objectives. It also asks about recovery plans for the evening or weekend. Again, this is nice because you get to hear from others, etc.
