About Pacific Sands Recovery Center – Drug & Alcohol Rehab Orange County

Pacific Sands Recovery Center is a drug and alcohol rehab located in Santa Ana, California. They provide inpatient addiction treatment and outpatient addiction treatment.

Addiction-related services provided here include medication-assisted therapy, medical detox, an intensive outpatient program, and residential addiction treatment.

Residential Addiction Treatment
This live-in treatment program lasts for a minimum of 30 days, but many individuals stay for 90 days. This program provides a safe substance-free environment, around-the-clock support and medical care, peer-to-peer support, psychoeducation about addiction and recovery, relapse prevention skills, and treatment for co-occurring mental health issues.

Outpatient Addiction Treatment
The intensive outpatient program provides flexible treatment for individuals who have work, family, or school obligations. This program lasts for 90 days, and sessions are held a few times a week for several hours at a time. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is offered to individuals who need help treating their withdrawal symptoms and reducing drug cravings. Methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone are used for MAT. A pillar of all recovery programs at Pacific Sands is 12-Step programming. This helps individuals establish sobriety and continue attending 12-Step support groups after treatment.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

During the first phase of recovery – detox – it is crucial to have 24-hour clinical care in California. This care provides constant monitoring in order to ensure your safely and comfort as you progress through the withdrawal process for drug or alcohol addiction. Licensed professionals prescribe medications to treat withdrawal symptoms and provide frequent monitoring to ensure your safely as addictive toxins leave your system.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

While participating in dialectical behavior therapy in California, you'll focus on four key areas of skill development: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Treatment includes weekly individual and group sessions.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

family iconFamily Therapy

Family therapy offers a platform for members to have an open dialogue about the challenges that addiction has placed on the family unit. Through guided sessions, therapists can help families develop healthy communication skills and address unresolved issues. By working together toward a common goal, they help to support their loved one's sobriety.

art-brush iconCreative Arts Therapy

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

I am beyond grateful for the exceptional support and guidance our family has received in encouraging my son, Michael, to enter this program. From the very beginning, D.C. provided us with unwavering hope and reassurance throughout the entire process.Hearing the feedback from my son, the staff here is truly remarkable. Their dedication to each individual s recovery journey is evident. They took the time to understand my son s unique needs and developed a personalized treatment plan that has made a world of difference. The therapists and counselors are not only highly skilled but also incredibly compassionate, making my son feel safe and supported throughout his recovery process. This detox and residential treatment center is top notch. The environment is serene, clean, and conducive to healing. My son has particularly enjoyed the range of therapeutic activities offered, from group therapy sessions to recreational activities that have helped him build a positive outlook on life. What sets this rehab apart is their holistic approach to recovery. They address not only the physical aspects of addiction but also the emotional and psychological components, ensuring a well-rounded and sustainable recovery. My son has gained valuable life skills and coping mechanisms that I am confident will serve him well in the future.Michael is making incredible strides in his recovery, and we owe it all to the dedicated team at this amazing facility. If you or a loved one are in need of compassionate, comprehensive care, this is the place. Thank you for giving my son a second chance at a healthy, happy life.

I am from Northern Cali and was very worried about going so far away from home. They made me feel very comfortable from the minute I was picked up from the airport. This is a great place for rehab/recovery. Most of the staff were great! They were very professional and concerned for the residents welfare when any issues occurred. Lots of laughs and great groups. I felt very safe. The private rooms are great. The house was very clean and the food was good. They cook Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. I like to cook, so they let me cook dinner for the house once in a while. That was great for me! The only thing is that I would have liked more all inclusive activities. Activities such as everyone cooking together, movie night together, cleaning up together, game night and more outdoor activities. Most of the staff is very caring and great listeners and give great feedback. Time went so quickly. They are very understanding and welcoming if you need to come back for any reason. I would highly recommend Pacific Sands Recovery! Thank you for having and helping me!!

Our daughter has been dealing with depression and addiction for many years now. She s been through several rehab programs, but I must say that for the first time , going to detox and residential treatment, it feels different. She is making great connections with the clinical staff and feels supported and heard while staying there. Let s just say it s been a blessing every day that she decides to stay in this caring residential treatment program!

Went here a while back after 26 or so treatment centers and a long history of opiate use disorder. I was pretty tore back and over the treatment thing. I came from a different detox and only spent about a week at Pacific Sands but I appreciated the staff there and how much they cared at the very least. I probably wouldn t have stayed sober had a staff member not sat me down and had the conversation they did when I was leaving before completion of my treatment plan. The conversation got me to a meeting after instead of cold copping fetty and overdosing. Not sure if I was just finally in a place to hear a message but this place got me sober and my life is a lot better now.

I won t lie I kind of miss this place. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the facility is extremely comfortable. Their doctor was super cool and understanding, making it a very comfortable detox for me all around. The clinicians that come in really gave me a strong foundation in the beginning of my journey. I just celebrated a year of continuous sobriety last week and it all started at Pacific Sands Recovery.
