I have a concussion that left me in pain didn't write down my PCPs information which I know me and my mother gave them so he probably doesn't have any of the scans while they were quick I don't feel they were very thorough or very concerned and wrote me off to neurologist which I know is normal but I can't get in for a month. This has been the worst experience at a hospital I've had besides WellStar I'm starting to think they might be better. Very disappointing I really really liked them when I was a car accident last year They were so wonderful I guess all those people are gone because I had 102-year-old I don't know what she was but she couldn't get her s*** together saw the PA once and the doctor once. So sad.

I waited 3 hours just to be seen by a PA not even a dr to tell me I need an xray and will need to wait about another 2 hours. Judging my injury you knew I would need an xray why not go ahead and take it while I waited 3 hours. When I commented on how long I had been waiting she proceeds to tell me 3 hours in a ER is not bad. When I talked about not wait she was rude.

Accepted Insurance

Northside Hospital works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Program for Substance Use (IOP) is a time-limited, multifaceted treatment service for adults requiring structure and support for recovering from substance related disorders. This program includes: state of art co-occurring disorder treatment, didactic presentations and psychoeducational information, psychiatric services, intensive individual therapy, group therapy and family counseling. Each client has an individualized recovery plan that includes a full continuum of services within a single system.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

A quality drug rehab in Georgia can help you overcome addiction. This environment is designed to help you address the complex issues contributing to drug dependence. The goal of treatment is to give you the tools you need to make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Finally got my friend who is an addict to come in and they let her sit in the waiting room detoxing for 3 1/2 hours before she couldn’t take it anymore and wanted to leave. Nobody tried to make her stay. They couldn’t care less.

After several therapies they told me my insurance was not good for them. Now I owe them lots of money because they did not mention that beforehand. This center is a scam.

Do not go to this hospital!!! I had a basketball injury, was pretty sure I tore my Achilles. They assured me I didn t and put me in a horrible splint and sent me on my way. Two months later I decided to go to an ortho and they confirmed I completely ruptured my Achilles tendon and it was too late to do surgery. They totally misdiagnosed me, sent me a bill for $1500+ and obviously had no clue what they were talking about. They just wanted my money and to move me along. I was there for 1 hour, got an X-ray and had a $1500+ bill. Go somewhere else, do not go here!!!

Is No doesn t need to be in this great hospital I been here before her heart related issues and never had a problem no Dr or the staff in the hospital and the nurses are great, but I sent a picture of the nurse practitioner that prefers not to change anything because when I was in the ER you know they put when you sent you up to the room the new doctor has to carry on for this in P thought she decided she was gonna stop certain medication s and I can t swallow and take my normal medications so I m in hospital at night uncomfortable and I can t. I shouldn t leave because I gotta see a cardiologist in the morning because I might have to have a procedure but that doctor below i m gonna look for all legal means and I will look for what other means it could be taken to get this nurse practitioner out of this hospital or have a corrective action because uncalled for to have a patient that is in pain and uncomfortable and already can t eat and drink and least the doctor can do is make a person comfortable instead of preparing not to deal with it because they don t believe in their mind that you don t need it you can make it through the night supper and Pain and stuff like that that s crazy

Went yesterday for a kidney stone. ER staff were wonderful. Rocky my nurse was great. I was treated with dignity, care, attentiveness, and they actually listen to you and address your concerns. Everyone from check-in, nurses, doctors, PA, CT scan (Radiology) were wonderful.

At 60ys old I have never had surgery, nor been under general anesthesia. I was a wee bit apprehensive and concerned when I showed up for my procedure yesterday. At the onset when entering the hospital I was greeted by a delightful lady that found me name and gave simple directions to my needed location. And the, "God bless you" as my wife and I walked away immediately reminded me I was in the ultimate hands of care. The staff on the surgical wing were friendly and efficient. With in mere moments I was checked in, banded and on my way to my adventure. The first healthcare assistant got me in my suite, settled, belongs gathered and in a bed. Next came my anesthesiologist; a delightful Doc in his mid sixties. He briefed me, asked a few questions and was on his way. The whole interaction good. Then the angels and super stars arrived:Alissa was my surgical prep nurse. She appeared with a bright smile and ready to get to work. Our conversation was light and friendly as she made me ready for my procedure. I am VERY apprehensive of IVs as veins are hard to find in my arms. Alissa was a compassionate pro. Listened to my fears, my stories and concerns. She then gave me a brief history of her career and reassured me all would be well. IT WAS. I.2.3. she had the IV prepped in my hand.Natalia was next, She was my surgical nurse. She came in and told me much of what was gonna happen and gave a thumbs up on all the prep up until that time. I assume she was in the operating suite as in the next few moments a sedative began to do its work.Pam works with the anesthesiologist and what I remember of her was quite positive.Lynne, with an E, yes I asked was the bright face that met me after my surgery. She was my recovery nurse. One moment I was speaking with me anesthesiologist, the next moment I met Lynne. She made sure I was alert, took my vitals. We had a delightful conversation and she administered a pain drug that literally made pretty much all feeling go away ;)She was stellar, and if you must have surgery, I high recommend Lynne.Sarah: she was my discharge nurse. She was bright and energetic and escorted my wife and I (by wheel chair of course) to the exit. I did have good drugs in board my system, but even in a stupor I say she did a great job.Thank God for nurses! And thank God for this group of talented and caring professional. The entire hospital staff were outstanding. My new mottos, "Unless I am gonna die in the nest few moments, take me to Northside Cherokee!"P.S. My surgeon Dr. Dua was great, but he gets his own review at his site. Which my his own admission, he never reads.P.S.S. My wife Victoria is my ultimate, nurse, doctor, and friend. Its a shame y'all may not know her.

On May 21st of this year (2024), I was seeing at the ER of Northside Hospital in Cherokee. I simply had a sprain on my shoulder and after 2 hours waiting for someone to see me, a nurse or RN came and spoke with me for 5 minutes to only recommend some pain meds or anti-inflammatory, without even examining or touching me at all. Not only I had to pay over $1,500 for this unreal visit, they came back and charge me another $981 for the same visit (note we are now in October, and this is still going on...) I paid my part on today's day (10/01/2024 = $264.30) through a company called Envision Physician Services - but wanted again to leave my discontent remark here of how upsetting and unprofessional this medical class can go on charging whatever they feel like without providing a proper and decent service. It's outrageous and disrespectful with their customers. I hope someone at one point can do something about this class of people who simply want to take advantage of people just because they can. I hope someone with power can put a stop on this "joke" that became the medical service and the charges among us. I'm a firefighter and medic and I know how much a band aid, a tape, and that stuff cost and to charge some times 1000% profit on top of that is ridiculous.
