They are legal so these misguided and defrauding people and places can have jobs, so psychiatrists can charge hundreds of dollars per hour, so social workers can have jobs and these so called "proferssionals" can make a living at your expense. All this profit-driven behavior and reckless prescribing of these poisons is so they can addict you to their business model and drugs and keep the money coming in. I have to rate this place as low as possible because with one parental appointment in the next one I was scheduled for they called 3 days before I was scheduled and said they had to cancel the appointment and refuse to see me due to me not having a primary care physician.Trying to get my medical records for the hospital that will see me is nearly impossible . I went online and filled the online request form out and called to see a couple days later and they said they didn t receive anything . Due to me working on the road I have to schedule appointments months ahead of time and also cannot constantly drive the 25 minutes to their location just to get the paper form release form . When I did find time and was off work I went down to the hospital and requested my medical records on paper form and the desk lady was more then unpleasant and irritated to just walk a couple steps and get me the paper . When I was done I asked do you guys keep this or do I deliver it to the hospital requesting it . She told me you can bring it over to the new hospital . So I did. When I arrived at the new hospital they told me NorthShore should have kept the form! Now the new hospital is having issues getting my medical release forms and I am in need of prenatal care so this is really mind blowing service in NorthShore part . Not to mention I already signed an electronic form they have but seem to have lost or don t care to look for !This is really appalling , and highly frustrating. Also the medical records lady voicemail box is constantly full and I ve never been able to leave a message or get any call backs from them .Thankfully the new hospital is outstanding in their care and concern and is taking top measure to care for me and retrieve the records I have signed over twice now .This place really doesn t sit well with me .

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy is provided by psychologists and licensed clinical social workers. Traditional reasons for seeking therapy/counseling, include, but are not limited to, treatment of depression, anxiety and/or other psychiatric disorders, the desire to change self-defeating patterns of behavior, gain self-knowledge and acceptance, or utilize support to problem-solve an individual's daily living issues.
inpatient iconInpatient
When participating in an inpatient rehab program, you'll reside at the treatment center for the duration of the program. Your housing and meals are provided, allowing you to focus on your recovery without outside triggers, stressors, and other distractions. You'll receive daily addiction counseling, drawing on various psychotherapeutic approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. Many inpatient drug rehabs also offer complementary holistic therapies, such as yoga, meditation, or animal therapy, and creative arts therapy.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Evanston Hospital is a time-limited, structured psychotherapy program designed to meet the needs of patients who are in need of intensive skill building to better cope with mental illness. The program offers structured treatment when conventional outpatient therapy is not sufficient to stabilize an individual’s symptoms. The program helps participants transition through strengthening abilities to identify triggers, utilize coping skills, communicate effectively, and manage stress.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs provide a full continuum of care for clients who are exiting inpatient treatment. Though outpatient care is often considered an element of drug rehab aftercare, services typically continue for the remainder of the clients' life and long after formal treatment is completed. Clients work with their case managers and care team to formulate a customized portfolio of medical, mental health, and social service resources designed to evolve as the client's needs change.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Illinois is designed to help people recover from addiction to a number of substances. The length of each program and its intensity tend to vary, and the plan of care is based on your individual needs.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

During couples therapy in Illinois, you may work on a variety of relationship challenges. Couples therapy can address topics such as finances, children, health, addiction, intimacy, external stressors, and family relationships. You'll develop tools to address these types of challenges in healthy ways.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation. The Family Program includes private and multi-family sessions, to support family members throughout the treatment and recovery process.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

The use of nicotine replacement therapy in Illinois supplies your body with a small, controlled dose of nicotine without exposing it to the other harmful chemicals in cigarettes. This dose reduces withdrawal and satisfies cravings, so you can wean yourself off nicotine use.

I like that they are very prompt when it comes to scheduling appointments. They have always treated me with respect, and I love the support the staff is willing to give at all time. My only complaint is the communication system they have.

Not understanding what s wrong with the staff but the fact they canceled my wife s prenatal appointment 4 days before we came In is appalling. It s not right there was no communication between the staff and us. We work over the road so we set these appointments out months in advance. Also We ve been trying to request her medical records for about a week now and no one wants to do anything about it. Some place right? Honestly this place should be shut down and all the nonchalant and lazy employees should be fired. The black lady at the desk clearly got an attitude because she had to get out of her chair for 5 secconds to get a release of information form. These people lie. That s all they do. No need for a response you all can kiss my unborn child s rear end thankfully we have found a place to take us and the staff there is incredibly helpful but they are STILL HAVING ISSUES WITH YOU ALL JUST SEND THE PAPERWORK ITS SIMPLE.You all are going to catch the wrong person on the wrong day and it s not going to be good for the hospital or staff because no one is going to play over their child s care

I came for a blood draw for the first time a week ago. The girl called my name from inside the room, not being familiar I was looking around because I didn t know where to go. She finally popped out so I followed. She told me I was not in the system although I have a standing order. There was a miscue but she would not help me. Ultimately after I made 3 phone calls and 2 hours later I got my 2 minute blood draw. Northshore has always been the best in my experience but they have changed. What happened to helping the patient? It would have taken her a minute to make a call and help me. It s very frustrating- the kindness I once felt is no longer.

This medical group has terrible communication. I was told only after arriving to the appointment that they instated a new policy days prior whereby only one parent was allowed in the room with a child. I waited in the parking lot for over an hour. Any other medical group would at least offer a courtesy call to let their patients' parents know theyre not welcome. These large healthcare giants have no manners and treat their patients like nothing more than expendable revenue.

I've always had my blood work done at my Doctor's office but they were under construction so i had to use this lab. My annual blood work has always been covered almost entirely. But this time they charged well over $600 for blood work! The staff was nice and did a decent job drawing my blood, but I'm not sure they were $600 worth.

The physician who saw me today for a routine check up went above and beyond. Dr. Doss was unhappy to hear that a previous prescription I had was unaffordable for me, so she took extra time to find an alternative but equally effective prescription option. She also was very attentive in asking about my family history and took extra care after learning that I was adopted to make sure she had an understanding that I was aware of paying attention to any possible inherent conditions and gave me not negative responses, but positive encouragement to stay on top of my health. Social distancing was in full swing at the Deerfield office, and the desk attendants were very diligent in directing patients as such.

During covid19 there were 20 people in the waiting room, nobody checking Temps at the door and called back 15 minutes later. Over an hour wait for a blood test, and the don't take appointments. Lines inside and outside cause confusion, a disorganized mess.

From the moment you enter this facility you feel unwelcome. The waiting room is dark and dirty. The front desk staff are rude and incompetent. I was told I would have an 11 minute wait, and I ended up having to wait for over an hour. There seems to be no rhyme or reason at this place, they just called people in a random order with many people who arrived well after me being called first. I only gave them 2 stars because the doctors here are decent at their jobs. The nurses are hit or miss, some are nice while others are rude.
