Accepted Insurance

St. Paul Metro Treatment Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients typically enter inpatient rehab after they complete detox. Inpatient care is also designed for clients who are experiencing a crisis and are at an increased risk of relapse. Clients reside at the treatment center for the duration of their program. Clients engage in intensive addiction counseling, often using CBT, DBT, RBT, motivational interviewing or other proven modalities. Many inpatient rehabs offer recovery-focused life skills training. Evidence-based complementary therapies, such as meditation and yoga, may be included.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) provide one of the highest levels of care available in an outpatient setting and are designed for clients who require robust support. Many intensive outpatient rehabs offer personalized treatment plans and a variety of services, including individual, group, and family counseling, recovery-focused life skills training, holistic therapies, and medication assisted treatment (MAT). Clients typically receive between nine and 20 hours of care weekly.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug addiction is defined as an inability to stop using drugs even though it causes negative consequences in your life. Drug rehab in Minnesota provides treatment for drug addiction in a variety of settings including inpatient treatment and outpatient treatment.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

my girlfriend was supposed to have an intake appointment for her first dose here today, and without any kind of prior notice they canceled her appointment because they lost a counselor and now they don t have room for her. We didn t get a phone call or anything to let us know that she was being put at the bottom of the waiting list again, which is super messed up when they should have done that the MINUTE they found out, instead of letting us believe that she was able to come in today and then having us drive all the way there and only then finding out that the appointment was canceled . This isn t a game, you are playing with peoples LIVES here, opiate addiction is NOT something you can just handle like a routine checkup appointment with your doc being canceled, she would ve been looking ELSEWHERE for help had she known that they didn t have room for her anymore instead of just relying on a clinic that clearly DOES NOT REALIZE or VALUE THE IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNICATION WHEN IT COMES TO CANCELLING A POTENTIALLY LIFE SAVING APPOINTMENT WITH A PATIENT THAT TRUSTED THEM TO HELP. now we re back at square one, and my girlfriend has been crying all morning because she feels so defeated and hopeless after months and months of waiting to get into somewhere and then when she finally thought there was hope THIS PLACE stripped that from her: I m so upset with how this clinic just screwed up such a good thing

I've been a patient at this clinic since Aug 4th 2015 so just over 6yrs and come from Walnut Grove which is 3hrs southwest and I've had zero issues getting there in time to dose. This clinic and Rob, Wendy, nurse Carrie, Meggan, and the rest of the staff saved my life. Thank you all from the bottom off my heart

Pros: Great nursing staff, particularly Carrie. Clean, safe, no trouble in the parking lots. It's not in a bad neighborhood. The counselors are nice and caring but not very effective. They are really good about making sure you get your methadone paid for, if you're eligible.Cons: Long lines sometimes, they need to hire more staff. Since there's usually only one nurse on staff, the people who have weeks worth of take outs easily take 10-20 minutes per person. They seriously hold the line up.Kinda hard to find a staff member sometimes when they tell you that you need a UA or to make an appointment.VERY limited hours, I've missed several doses cause of their crazy hours. Every other clinic has better hours than this place. No holiday takeouts, instead they're open like 2 hours on holidays.Strict with takeouts, you have to attend groups to get any.Staff seems really eager to close exactly on time, if you're a minute late they will shut the door in your face. Literally.Parking lot can get really busy cause half the lot is reserved for the business across the street. Said business freaks out if you park in their lot.Hot and kind of crowded inside. Not enough seating.Rating - 3/5, would be higher if their hours didn't suck.

This clinic is great they have methdone and I think suboxone too. I'm on methdone and you can dose the first time you come in after your intake. It takes around 1-2 weeks to feel completely comfortable. The first day mostly took away my withdrawals but I still had slight cravings for the first couple days. Now I'm around 4 or 5 months sober.
