Accepted Insurance

New River Comprehensive Treatment Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When you enroll in drug rehab in Virginia, a treatment plan is designed by professional staff in order to help you overcome drug addiction and modify addictive behaviors. This may include evidence-based treatments, group and individual therapy, and relapse prevention.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

New patients are very poorly informed, the staff expects patients to know what to do. They do not provide a good guide for patients to achieve their goals, they don't care that patients recover and become sober, the only thing that matters to them is the money they receive. ... Read More

Please read the whole review, I know it s long, but there s important stuff that really might help you out if you re thinking about becoming a patient. Always keep in mind however, that you get out of it what you put into it. The counselors there are wonderful, especially Amber. She has advocated for me, she helped me get Medicaid so my medicine is free now which is amazing. She always tells me how proud she is of me and reminds me how much progress I ve made when I m starting to feel like I m screwing up, sometimes you just need to hear that. I know that I can always depend on her. My first counselor was Dan he was wonderful, but I just thought that I would benefit more from having a female counselor. I also know that Ray is wonderful, but any of the counselors would be more than happy to help you if you can t find yours. The only problems I have with this place are how difficult it is to get them on the phone sometimes, also one of the nurses is kind of rude, I understand that it is a difficult job however. The rest of the nurses are very kind especially April! Also Treva The nursing coordinator is an absolute nightmare. She was rude to me from the second I walked into that building. She for some reason has a personal issue with me and makes it known. That is so unprofessional you re supposed to keep your opinions outside the door. That kind of stuff will send people back out and then they die. Other than that it s great! The front desk lady is wonderful, the Director is absolutely wonderful, I enjoy the group Therapy, and if you re doing the right thing and passing your drug test, you will phase up very quickly there. I m already to two weeks, whereas at another clinic it probably would ve taken me A year or even longer to get to that point. There was a time that I never thought I would even get a single take home and I m already to two weeks! So thank you new river comprehensive treatment center. If it weren t for you I would probably be dead, not only that but my mental health has improved drastically since I started there. One more person I would like to mention is Diana who does the Medicaid and financial stuff (I think)she is also extremely helpful and kind if you ever need help with anything.

Addicted to opiates pills for years which led to heroin/fentanyl addiction for 8 years. Finally took the step to become a patient here for methadone almost 2 years ago now and haven't had a craving or relapse since then. Everyones path is different and treatment options vary as to what works for other people but this has definitely saved my life changes for the better in more than just one way. Nurses, staff and counselors are very genuine and caring, respectful and professional.

I lost my mom I found her dead on July 12th my stepdad was murdered in April, I have been at the clinic for almost 5 years I have never failed a drug screen until my stepdad was murdered. I failed for benzo. Well finally, my doctor prescribed me a benzo due to the severe trauma. They still haven t given me my take homes back. They re saying they had to send it to the lab to make sure I m not taking nothing else. They sent it to the lab a month ago. I ve done the groups and my doctor told I m prescribed them but yet I m still going every day I drive an hour there and an hour back. I lost my mom and my stepdad in a short amount of time and they are not understanding I used to love this place but it s like they no longer care . So if anyone has a suggestion for a new clinic, I m all ears

After getting in to a bad place with opiate addiction, I knew I needed help. This clinic is pretty simple but it is staffed with good people. The doctor is definitely better than most. Takes the time to listen to you, and does not seem judgmental if you make a mistake. You get a counselor and all of them seem pretty cool. Their doors are always open and you can talk to them any time you need to.Part of your recovery is on you, but this place does not put undue stress in to you life.Get Medicaid and your medications are paid for.
