About Mirror Lake Recovery Center

Mirror Lake Recovery Center is located on 75 acres in Burns, Tennessee. The center has addiction treatment and mental health treatment for co occurring disorders. They treat adults 18 and older. Treatment costs vary depending on what type of treatment you need. They do accept most major health insurances including TRICARE.

They offer a 14 day medical detoxification before you start your recovery journey. Even through the medical detox you’ll begin group and individual therapy sessions. Getting through detox is the beginning of your recovery after which you’ll transition to the residential program.

In the residential program, you’ll live on the campus while receiving support for co-occurring disorders such as anxiety, bipolar, depression, and psychosis. In addition to individual and group therapy, you’ll have access to yoga, art, and equine therapies.

There’s a faith based track if you want to incorporate Christian values into your recovery. These include Bible study, meditation, journaling, and prayer.

If you’re a veteran of the military or on active duty, they have a program that caters to you. It’s run through the VA and the Community Care Network or CCN.

When you’re ready, you can step down to a partial hospitalization program that offers a less structured schedule than the inpatient program. After completing the partial program you’ll receive continued support with their aftercare programs.

One former client mentioned that the recovery center grounds are beautiful and the staff is great. Another client said it was tough work but the staff was caring and it was well worth it.

I attended this rehab center 2 years ago and I would go back to this one if I ever had to choose. I loved it here. Staff was great and I loved how it was ran. I actually had fun. Too bad you can't bring your kids cause if you could this place would deserve a 10 star rating.

I cannot say enough about this establishment and the amazing staff. No one ever wants to find themselves in a desperate situation of this magnitude but if you do, Mirror Lake is the answer. It was God's answer for me and I am so grateful. Making the first step was hard but they have their Aces in places for that very reason. Mirror Lake is divinely positioned with its beautiful setting, amazing staff, in depth curriculum and lots of great food. You will gain weight; fact! The counselors are in a league of their own. I had Lala and well, there aren't enough words in any language that say how special she is. Every one of their counselors left me excited to learn more about myself and the disease of addiction. And let's face it, people detoxing and possibly going through hell on earth arent the easiest to guide. But they do just that they guide with love because they get it. They've been there. Thats why its so special, in my opinion. Because most of the staff are in recovery. You or someone you love may have fallen in a giant hole where there seems to be no way out. They won't just stand above you telling you to find a way out. They have the ability to jump down in the hole and help guide you out, because they've been there and they know the way out.(;) Lala)Most of all they helped me find my self worth again and get closer to God. I have health issues so I tried to leave a couple of times but everytime I tried, they always met the need that was causing the despair. They loved me back to health and My family and I are forever grateful. If you or someone you love struggles with addiction give them a call. I pray you too may have the privelege to find a new way of life.Ps.The issues I had going in do not compare with any i have today. I dug in and left it all at the lake. .Bethany King

Accepted Insurance

Mirror Lake Recovery Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients receiving support in a rehab aftercare program typically have abstained from drugs or alcohol for a period of weeks or months and have completed high-level (often inpatient) treatment. Drug rehab aftercare is designed to support clients in maintaining their sobriety as they re-engage with their ordinary lives at home, in the workplace, and in the community. Services are highly individualized and evolve with clients' changing needs, but generally include peer coaching and relapse prevention.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Horrible place! the place is crazy, has no policies or rules to keep track of patients. They are few ethics, I don't recommend coming to this place and less if they have mental health problems. I would recommend going elsewhere if you want help.

This place is A-mazing!! The front desk receptionist, Tracy is awesome and welcoming. The Techs are so understanding even when it gets to the hire up! Like Dr. Sara and her Snake exercise taught me it's not just where we view ourselves in treatment but also where we as peers and our counselors view us too. The magic of that is to help us grow and blossom in our treatment. Morgan and Destiny are just a couple of their A-mazing staff members that treat you like people not a paycheck they truly care about there clients so hats off to you woman who helped me through my journey. I Loved coming here and will always remember my experience was a great one!!!!Bianca Thompson

Fentanyl is running rampant through this campus as well as multiple other substances. They are more worried about guys talking to girls then the people overdosing left and right on their campus. They hardly search you when you come in and there's more gossip between the techs than anything else. They should be straight up and let you know its about the insurance $$ and not recovery. I was told i was being kicked out and taken to a homeless shelter without any explanation or any chance to contact anyone I know SMH! The groups are repetitive and they keep you outside 13 hours a day no matter the weather. If you are serious about your recovery I definitely wouldn't go here.I was just there with a young man who overdosed due to being sold some fentanyl, he was then transported to the emergency room and saved but they readmitted him and then kicked him out the next day???? Tommy please explain this Lmao. We addicts deserve better treatment than that. While you ride around in your truck all day maybe think of bettering your facility sometime LOL...

Mirror Lake plain and simple saved my life. I have done a year at this place in installments with 9 admits. I've literally been on the street dying and Mirror Lake has never turned me down. The staff genuinely cares and loves the addicted community and sincerely wants us to thrive and live in a state of freedom and serenity. I've left AMA I've completed the program and got extensions put on my time. I've have yet to see limitations put on the extent of which these people will help cause I come in places like this needy a hell and they go above and beyond. Shout out to the staff and the nursing staff they meet a lot of resistance and still show up every day to do a job that I know is divinely appointed. Thank you and much love. STEWIE loves yall

I have been to several residential recovery centers. Mirror Lake Recovery Center by far is my favorite of the several recovery centers I have been to. The curriculum and the counselors and the staff know what they are doing. It is structured and that is exactly what I need. The grounds are beautiful they have a lake and they have several cabins both for the men and women they have a cafeteria they have large pavilions and they also have geese and ducks. Mirror Lake also offers holistic services such as yoga acupuncture and EMDR. If you need structure with great grounds and great services and staff then Mirror Lake should be your option.
