The front desk is so rude. Attitude of workers could be much better. Out of the entire group only two people are okay. Everyone else literally could work somewhere else. That's the vibe I got from here. Therapist actually cared and offered individual services. Besides that, this entire program can be shortened to three hours over three days.

I sought mental health care at Mirmont Treatment Center in Broomall and had a deeply troubling intake experience that raised serious concerns about the facility s commitment to inclusivity, professionalism, adherence to ethical guidelines, and quality patient care.During my intake session on August 27, 2024, I noticed materials promoting Christian beliefs on Gracie's wall. As a queer person with a history of conversion therapy, this was particularly distressing. It reflected a lack of respect for patients with different religious or secular beliefs and indicated a disregard for ethical, evidence-based treatment practices. After expressing my discomfort, I was reassigned to April, a different therapist. However, this session only worsened my distress. When I shared about my experience with Gracie, April remarked, That has happened more than once, and management has not responded. When I shared that I came out in 2019, April replied, Oh, you don t even know what you re doing yet! and then laughed.Following this, I attempted to file a formal complaint to ensure other patients would not endure similar treatment. After 5 phone calls and 3 voicemails over 6 business days, I finally spoke with Valerie Schina, the Executive Director of Mirmont at Broomall. She assured me that corrective actions would be taken and confirmed with me once completed.Despite following up with 5 additional calls and leaving 2 more voicemails, I did not hear from Valerie over the next 5 weeks. I eventually escalated my complaint to the compliance department, which assumedly oversees all Mirmont facilities. Only after reaching out to them did I receive written confirmation of corrective actions from Valerie on October 10, 2024, likely due to pressure from the compliance department. The actions she confirmed in writing are as follows:1) My experience was shared with the Site Director.2) The DREI Committee conducted a site survey and made recommendations about messages posted on walls.3) Discussions occurred with the involved therapists regarding my experience. However, my experience leaves me with serious doubts about the center s ability to ensure a safe and supportive environment for vulnerable patients. I feel compelled to share my story to advocate for others and promote transparency for those considering treatment here.If you notice any religious materials on the walls, you notice ethical or professional violations, or you experience mistreatment, you can report your concerns to compliance@mlhs.org.

I wish like hell that I could give this place ZERO or -10! I was referred to this place by Mryn Mawr hospital during a life threatening medical emergency. My appointment with Gracie went well, or so I thought. I discussed the issues I have been facing and how to navigate through grief, trauma and stress.Next thing you know CYS was knocking at my door! Unbeknownst to me they lied on me!!! They reported that I was drinking and driving with my children in the car. And I was drinking in front of my kids. It ALL WAS FABRICATED!!!! I was ABSOLUTELY LIVID! I NEVER told Gracie that I was drinking with my kids in the car. I would NEVER put my kids, myself, or any other motorists in harms way.Not only am I looking at my kids being taken away, but my professional career and reputation is now at risk. These ppl BLATANTLY LIED to a government agency. Suppose I wasn't strong enough to go through such a thing (thank GOD I'm tough). My kids having to have their lives invaded, pictures of them taken, records sifted through, walking through our home, etc.You turn to these ppl to HELP with confidential and sensitive information, only for them to have you look crazy and turn your life upside down. They use your words against you and make up quite a bit of their own along the way. They twist things to make it fit their narrative. Shame on them! That isn't what this profession is about. God bless anyone willing to seek treatment that this God forsaken evil place. I should've listened to my gut after reading the reviews. Thank God I hadn't stayed past the initial evaluation.

Accepted Insurance

Main Line Health – Mirmont Outpatient Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients receiving services from a rehab aftercare program are usually stable and in the maintenance phase of recovery, having completed detox and/or intensive inpatient treatment. Rehab aftercare services can vary widely based on clients' individual and evolving needs, but often include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, 12 step program induction, and medical, mental health, and social service referrals. Individual care plans are typically developed by the client in partnership with their case manager and care team.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
Because the severity of withdrawal symptoms can fluctuate, constant monitoring under 24-hour clinical care in Pennsylvania is recommended for early recovery. As you undergo detox, medical staff will supervise your health and ensure severe symptoms do not develop or threaten your life. Professional counselors will also be available to treat mental and emotional health needs.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Pennsylvania is devoted to the treatment of addiction. Levels of care, treatment methods, and settings differ, but the aim of each program is to end drug dependency and empower participants to achieve long-term recovery.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hiv-aids-program thumbnail image
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS programs support disease prevention and management in high-risk individuals in recovery. Individuals who engage in intravenous drug use and other addictive behaviors are at a higher risk of becoming infected with HIV. Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I have been going to mirmont broomall for psychiatry for years. Customer service is great, they are very responsive and it is never hard to get an appointment unlike most psychiatrist offices. Mental health is so important and my phychiatrist, Dr. Lauren Solomoto, has been nothing but wonderful. She is very attentive and gives excellent suggestions for managing my anxiety not only through medication but through great sessions in which she also provides excellent suggestions for coping with my anxiety and depression.

My experience here demonstrates the dark side of mental health services in the United States. Be extremely careful sharing your personal struggles with depression, anxiety, and fear with the staff here.I had a disagreement with a staff member that led to me being bullied into a state of hopelessness. You are at risk of being gaslit that your concerns and conditions aren't real and that you're just pretending. The staff proceeded to intentionally misinterpret my words to try to have me locked up in a 302 procedure. I was paraded in handcuffs in front of other patients and staff when I was demonstrably not a threat to anyone or myself.I would be wary of any claims of success made by this organization. Mental health is a challenging crisis for many people these days. The strategy Mirmont uses to "treat" us is scare tactics. You're supposed to come out of treatment learning to keep your mouth shut and pretending that life is kittens and rainbows. Or else. The staff is skilled at providing canned responses that don't feel human. You would have similar experiences venting to ChatGPT. You can tell just how inhuman the communication is by looking at the organization's responses to reviews here on Google. It's copy-pasted generic "we're sorry to hear that" nonsense that does not address any concerns from the patients. The staff has an unhealthy obsession with firearms. You will be constantly asked about whether or not you have access to those. The reason has nothing to do with your safety. That's gaslighting. The real reason is that while you are here, you will be treated as an active threat to other people. The patients aren't monsters. We're all just sad. But you're treated like you aren't just human. It's really sad.

Mirmont outpatient center is a big disappointment. They are just looking for customers for their own financial gain. I specifically told them not to put me in group with men, but failed. A lot of the therapist do not know what they were doing, and constantly disregarded the needs of other patients.

It's managed like a Business Center.I didn't feel safe to leave my son a 2nd day. I would say that they are borderline, almost insane. They are busy, the Front desk is rude and the nurse doesn't listen. They transferred me to the her while I was seeking only some advice on what to expect after the first day.No one was available and the nurse acted weirdly like I was in an emergency. I said multiple times no. She lied on the notes and didn't report the call accurately. Hopefully, we have the recordings. I decided to not give the call to my son, they did enough damages and she was somehow insane not listening to a simple request .

I went here for alcohol use, and when I was admitted I was labeled with severe marijuana use disorder, severe adderal use disorder, and severe alcohol use disorder! I told them I have 2-3 drinks a night, and on occasion (once a week on a weekend a few more) and they said I was a binge drinker! All I was looking for was help to get my drinking under control, because I was dependent on alcohol to sleep... I used everything else under a medical professional's directions & never misused anything other than alcohol. This place is a rip off, and are just looking to make customers! They have you go through the same class, and listen to the same speeches. There is nothing individualized about their recovery approach! I have now been in therapy for a little over a year, and I am getting the help I needed. This place tried to bill me for over $900 after trying to convince me to stay another night because my insurance would no longer cover my treatment! Stay far away from this location!

Psychiatrist does not listen to a word you say. I told him about a specific issue I was having with my one med and he ignored it and decided to try to switch out a different med I ve been stable on for 6 years because there s a different brand HE likes? I told staff I felt dismissed and needed more support and their response was to send me home and discharge me from the program. Thanks I guess? They really acted like this was going to be a very supportive program with constant access to a therapist but it wasn t until DAY 3 they had me meet my therapist. Otherwise the only real support you will get is from other group members.
