I will always recommend Linden Oaks outpatient center to those who are looking to work on their mental health. Brad is a wonderful therapist, very in tune with everyone's individual needs. He made process groups a lot easier because of his positive nature and ability to connect topics brought up to the entire group, not just the individual. BHAs Katherine, Gerry, and Dan were good at teaching groups in an engaging way that encouraged group discussion and allowed for easier interpretation of the skills. Janette was my psychiatrist, and I greatly appreciated how she listened to my concerns and worked with me on my medications. Even the interns there were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I would not have guessed that either were students based on the way they interacted with patients and ran their groups.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient care for addiction is an important part of the recovery process. After the initial detoxification and/or residential treatment, they will work with you to set up an outpatient treatment plan that meets your needs. There are different levels available depending on the patient's needs, including the Partial Hospitalization Program and the Intensive Outpatient Program.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. At Linden Oaks the IOP consists of daily therapy, including group, individual and family.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
As a flexible option, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is tailored for those who don't require 24-hour care. PHP treatment can include daily therapeutic sessions and services such as relapse prevention and medication management. Based on your needs, PHP treatment duration can average 90 days and require a minimum of 20 hours of commitment weekly. While a partial hospitalization program typically requires a commute, telehealth may be available. PHP treatment costs can vary but are often covered by most insurance.

hiv-aids-program thumbnail image

Rehab centers that specialize in treating this population typically have a high number of nurses, physicians, and psychiatrists on staff who can make sure both their medical and mental health needs are met.

Care teams may include obstetricians, pediatricians, and social workers working collaboratively to give women, children, and families a healthy future.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

The therapists of Linden Oaks Medical Group provide traditional outpatient therapy. Patients usually meet once or twice a week for talk therapy with a counselor. The frequency of your sessions may vary based on your therapist’s and/or psychiatrist’s recommendations. Sessions last 45 minutes to an hour.

Motivational interviewing in Illinois is person centered and collaborative. This method allows the therapist to come alongside the client to address the issue of ambivalence toward change. By listening and reflecting, the therapist helps the client see the need for change and commit to making changes.

The Linden Oaks crisis response team provides immediate and practical resources for those impacted by trauma and serious loss. By offering assessments, information, referrals, education and support during a time of need, the team delivers frontline mental health care with compassion, dignity and excellence. The Linden Oaks crisis response team includes approximately 20 members. Members represent various disciplines, including counseling, psychology, social work, education, nursing and other related areas.

Couples therapy can address topics such as finances, children, health, addiction, intimacy, external stressors, and family relationships. You'll develop tools to address these types of challenges in healthy ways.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

The use of nicotine replacement therapy in Illinois supplies your body with a small, controlled dose of nicotine without exposing it to the other harmful chemicals in cigarettes. This dose reduces withdrawal and satisfies cravings, so you can wean yourself off nicotine use.

I attended the Emerging Adult PHP/IOP program-it could not have been a better fit!! The staff here are really thorough and thoughtful when it comes to making new and returning members of the group feel seen and heard without judgement; they helped each member of group feel validated and supported. I truly left here knowing I m not alone and with a greater love for myself. I had Kelly as my therapist, and she was super amazing at checking in with me and providing me with a multitude of resources to tackle my mental mountains. Katherine, Jerry, Vicki, and others were super knowledgeable, gentle, and kind. They introduced coping skills in a clear manner and were super helpful whenever myself or others had questions. They provided relevant, accurate, and such healing care. I would 100% recommend for anyone who feels they are alone and is struggling with their mental health!

I don t like that Kelly doesn t equally have people share. She s very unorganized. Also, phP until 3, is kinda ridiculous, because how do you expect people to absorb all of that information in 6 ish hours?! I want a new therapist. Kelly also seems to selectively be touching base with people.

I left this IOP program because it was AWFUL. Didn t meet with my therapist until the day I left. People were actively suicidal in the program. Everyone was on their phones during every group. I do NOT recommend. Go to CDH Saint Charles IOP program instead. It s MUCH better.

Amazing staff, I went for about 1-2 months and the support and care that was given was absolutely breathtaking. They taught me so much and made sure I was cared for. The great staff is what makes it amazing. Jerry, Katherine, Kelly, Carissa and everyone in between, are all wonderful, amazing, intelligent, respectful people who have the best version of yourself in mind. I loved every moment of being there, I wish I can thank them forever but this review will have to do. I love the work they do here, amazing.

I went through the Adult PHP program and then stepped down to IOP before discharging. The staff and the program itself is absolutely outstanding. Dr. V is by far the best Psychiatrist around. I had her for 5 years prior to recommending this program to me, but does more than help prescribe medication. She goes above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of and that you don t rely only on medication for help. While in program, I met people from all different walks of life, and it was so empowering to be in a space facilitated by Kelly and Brad where you could be vulnerable with one another without judgement, but instead encouragement and support. The skills coaches Dan, Kathrine, and Gerry were also fantastic! Dan has such a bubbly personality that is contagious. Katherine is so calm, organized, and nurturing in her care and education. And Gerry was by far outstanding with thoroughly answering any question you would ask with patience, detail, and accuracy. This program was patient-centered. Even if there was a schedule planned for the day, if someone had something that needed to be talked about, they would allow the conversations to naturally center around finding solutions and what coping skills could be used. I left the program with a binder full of materials that I plan to continue to reference and review moving forward, and feel like myself again.

I attended adult PHP and then stepped down to IOP. The team here is amazing! The care I received, the education, the safe environment they provided gave me the opportunity every day to learn about myself, my health, and to develop effective coping skills. The group sessions allowed us to learn from and give/gain strength for/from each other. I would strongly recommend this program, this team, to any adult looking for a program. They are the best!
