About InnerBalance Health Center

InnerBalance Health Center is an alcohol and drug rehab in Loveland, Colorado. They treat people in a residential setting over 28 days. In this way, they’re similar to other drug rehabs, but what differentiates them is their approach. They’re looking to address the root causes of addiction and not just the symptoms. Their approach encompasses body, mind, emotions, spirit, and the environment.

Their biological approach sets them apart from other treatment centers. While they use standard treatments for withdrawal, they take a much wider view of your health than just treating withdrawal. They run a series of labs and tests with the intention of detecting and treating any hormonal, chemical, or nutritional imbalances. They believe that optimizing health will lead to fewer cravings. The food they give to you during your stay is meant to support the goal of optimizing health. It’s low in sugar and high in protein and vegetables to avoid triggering cravings. Their program includes mandatory gym time.

The residence overlooks a golf course and has a view of the Rocky Mountains. Room options range from standard to luxury. They have both private and shared rooms with private bathrooms. The beach on Lake Loveland is within walking distance.

If you have a stable and sober living situation and live nearby, you can choose to complete rehab without staying on campus if your condition allows. After completing the rehab program, you can step down to intensive outpatient programming where you can continue to attend a few days a week for part of the day. The intensive outpatient program is also available as a direct entry for anyone who might need less intensive help or who needs to keep working. After finishing the program, you can return for weekly alumni meetings. Once you complete the program, you have another 11 hours you can schedule with your life coach or staff nutritionist as you see fit.

They report an 86% client satisfaction rate, and previous clients give positive reviews. Reviewers described the program staff as highly skilled and the program itself as transformational.

InnerBalance accepts most major insurance plans and will work with you to verify coverage. They don’t accept Medicaid or Medicare.

My daughter wanted a private room but she didn't need one because for the entire month if September, there was not another female at the residence. I paid $3,000 for something that wasn't needed. I asked for a refund because her insurance didn't cover the treatment and I paid out of pocket, but was told no. They made me pay for something that wasn't needed.

I have struggled with mainly meth addiction for 8 years or so. I was feeling so sick everyday. My body felt toxic, the meth wasnt giving me energy anymore, I was depleted. I was craving nature and nutrition.I have been desiring to come to innerbalance for over 6 years now. I didn't have the money then. I went to 2 other rehabs before this one covered by medicaid instead. I honestly am thankful for all 3 of the rehabs I have been too. I have learned so much and after completing innerbalance and understanding all my underlying health issues and learning how to heal I finally believe I can move foward past addiction. I am so thankful and blessed to have gotten to come here. I haven't felt this good for a longtime. I feel joy again.I have a solid recovery plan, relapse prevention plan and relapse plan. Everyone that works here is so encouraging and supportive. I have had so many laughs and good times here. I feel ready to go out in the world. I believe that I will never get stuck in active addiction again. I will just get back on the horse if a relapse does happen. I'm ready. Thank you innerbalance! I am very satisfied! Amie Raniewicz

Accepted Insurance

InnerBalance Health Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients entering an inpatient rehab typically require more intensive treatment than those in outpatient care. Clients often start inpatient treatment immediately after completing a detox program. Upon admission, they engage in extensive psychotherapy, receive recovery-focused life skills training, and participate in evidence-based complementary therapies, such as meditation, massage, acupuncture, and/or animal, creative arts, recreational, and experiential therapy.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients engaged in a rehab aftercare program have completed active addiction treatment and are receiving services designed to promote their sustained sobriety. Drug rehab aftercare typically encompasses a wide variety of medical, mental health, and social services meant to facilitate clients' reintegration into their home, workplace, and community. Clients typically collaborate with their case manager and/or recovery team to identify and access the services they need, often including peer coaching, career counseling, and care referrals.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in Colorado is necessary when someone needs help with substance abuse but is unwilling to stop using despite multiple negative consequences. Intervention services are available to walk family and friends through a step-by-step process of planning and executing the intervention. A successful intervention requires careful planning and set-up as well as appropriate follow-up. Intervention services can be crucial to carrying out each of these steps.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Professional services are often necessary to recover from addiction. Drug rehab in Colorado provides the expert services needed to address the complex issues of addiction and help individuals start their recovery journey.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy is skills based and present oriented. You'll be asked to keep a diary of emotions and related behaviors and practice the skills you've been learning between sessions. The focus of skills development is on mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills are traits you need to be successful during recovery, such as managing stress and interpersonal relationships. During rehab treatment in Colorado, you and your therapist will identify any skills that need to be developed and work on methods to strengthen them.

The right diet balances your body's dopamine levels, which are the natural "happy drugs" of the brain. Nutrition therapy helps you learn the best foods to eat to achieve and maintain this balance, which supports long term addiction recovery.

Participating in experiential therapy in Colorado brings awareness to the emotions and thoughts that affect your behavior. As you engage in an interactive or creative activity, your therapist will help you reflect on and analyze these patterns and develop healthy coping strategies to use in the future.

I do not have firsthand experience with other treatment programs but, based on my time at InnerBalance and numerous conversation with fellow patients and members of the local sober community, I can confidently say that this program is one of a kind. From the food and accommodations to the biochemical testing and multi-disciplinary counselors/practitioners, InnerBalance truly embodies a holistic approach to recovery. Had I not gone to InnerBalance, or gone to a different treatment center, I would not be where I am in my recovery today.

I have never posted a review before, but Inner Balance gets a ten star review from me. I learned so much information about the connection with the mind, body, spirit, and environment. I would not label it as an rehab addiction center because it is so much more. All of the staff are highly trained therapists, as well as most of the other extended staff have masters degrees.. Thy give you all the information that helps put together as how the mind works with the body, how how important spiritual connection works with them, and of course how our environment plays a major role. the accommodations are amazing as it once was a B and B. The thorough labs are amazing with the genetic testing. The supplements were spot on. You are advised which supplements to take the rest of your life, which ones you stay on for maintenance, and which can be deleted in 2-3 months. You are also tested for hypoglycemia, urine and saliva, and other testing. You get three liters of vitamin and mineral solution in your six weeks there. You get light therapy, FSM stimulator, Alpha stimulator, Reike, Darma, yoga, the gym, freedom to walk around the area, use your phone in the evening or laptop, a one day spiritual retreat, and many more things. you have a nutritionist , life coach, family therapist, addiction therapist, family therapist, spiritual therapist once a week, sometimes you may see them twice a week. All of you classes are taught by a therapist. You have a lot of homework, and the days are filled from 7 a.m. to 8 and 9 p.m. with some downtime esp. on Sundays. I can't say enough positive things about it. I wish they held retreats once a year for the alumni. The food was amazing and so healthy for you. I stuck with the program and am gluten, caffeine, and sugar free except for the natural sugar in fruits. It was very easy to do because you feel so much better physically and mentally.

The only time I take the time to write a review is when someone actually impacts my life for better or worse. It was because of the reviews that I decided to give this place a shot. I simply can't put into words who I was prior to coming to IB and who I am today. These people gave me the support I desperately needed, even in ways I didn't know I needed. They gave me the tools to re-evaluate, reflect and rebuild my life on so many levels that just wouldn't have been possible anywhere else. I'm 38 and healthier than I was at 22, I found my self confidence and I'm finding joy in life once again. IB gave me that. These people saved my life. The chemistry that the staff has with patients is honestly what I loved most about IB, followed immediately by the food. If I made it my absolute life goal to eat as well as I did for that month, I couldn't do it. Now add in the holistic healing approach, Reiki treatment, light therapy, supplements, gym, sauna, the list goes on and on but the short version is that you leave with a better understanding of your mind, body and spirit in a way no other facility can match. It is my hope that this review will help someone struggling make the same choice I did because looking back, it wasn't the correct choice, It was the ONLY choice. Thank you again IB!!!

The only rehab facility to have a medical staff. It could be better but it is the best there is in my opinion.

Response from the owner1 year ago
Thank you Dixie. Unlike most facilities that focus on counseling as the core component, we believe in a holistic approach. As you point out, including medical staff allows us to examine biochemical imbalances to help restore each individual. This process actually helps reduce the cravings in general which helps facilitate overcoming addiction. Thank you for taking the time to comment.

Amazing house, amazing therapists, amazing food and close to a 5 star program. They just weren t good at helping with conflict between clients. Their response to the ongoing escalating conflicts was just love one another and apologize which 9 times out of 10 is unrealistic and doesn t work. Besides that it was awesome.

Response from the owner1 year ago
Thanks Matthew. We will keep learning ourselves and take note of your comments about client conflicts. While this is rare, we do try to prevent and resolve as best we can. We're glad this did not take away from your own recovery process and hope the skills you learned continue for you long beyond our program.

I would highly recommend Inner Balance to anyone considering treatment. The program is very well rounded and customized to each individual. The biochemical repair is phenomenal and evidence based. It is a unique approach to treatment that makes so much sense. I am grateful to have had a program that addressed and respected me as whole person. Mind, body and spirit.

Response from the owner1 year ago
Thank you Kathleen. We try hard to blend treatment to individuals and hopefully equip people with the holistic set of tools necessary for true recovery.

I came to Innerbalance as a puzzle ,in many broken pieces . Between the counselors ,staff and fellow clients I left as a whole. It is now up to me to not allow those pieces to fall apart. They gave me the knowledge and all the tools to make this transition. All very compassionate and ,I feel, genuinly there to help us succeed in life. They helped me heal emotionally and physically.

Response from the owner2 years ago
Thank you so much for the kind words. Our paths may be difficult at times and we are honored that we were able to be a part of your journey to healthful living.

Beautiful place and great therapists. But very I ll equipped to handle client disputes/issues. I had issues with multiple clients threatening me and talking down to me and causing my recovery to be in jeopardy. I told staff multiple times and hardly anything was done. The last straw was when I told staff I was at the end of my rope and having a mental crisis due to another client harassing me and i just got a shrug and sorry was the response. So I had to leave early and essentially lost $5500 due to their contracts they make you sign about no refunds etc. rehabs are one of the few businesses that can completely screw you and ignore your customer complaints and get away with it

Response from the owner2 years ago
Hello Slop Tom, We are truly sorry you had a negative experience. We were not able to identify your identity based on your review but feel free to reach out to us directly to discuss. As a small, independent treatment center with a unique and holistic approach, we personalize the treatment program for each individual. Overcoming addiction is a difficult physical, mental and emotional task so all our effort focuses on creating an environment that enables recovery. Most of our staff here have been with us for 10+ years and get to know our clients during treatment and continue to support even years after treatment. It sounds like not enough was done to address interactions with other clients at the time. If you could reach out to us directly to discuss, we could likely learn more from you to help us continually improve.
