My daughter recently spent time at HEAL in their trauma therapy program. She went there after a short but very negative experience at another treatment center in Florida. From the moment she arrived, she was welcomed literally with open arms. Unlike many treatment facilities, the HEAL website accurately reflects their program. It is not a one size fits all program. It is a small facility which allows the staff to really know the clients and group sessions are deliberately kept small. Unfortunately my daughter was sick much of the first week she was there, but the staff went out of their way to ensure her health was a priority. The physical facility where the clients stay is a wonderful, peaceful ranch that is very calming and comfortable. There was always staff at that facility, and they made a sustained effort to get to know my daughter. Sure there were some rough times, but no treatment facility is perfect and treatment is not supposed to be easy. The staff took the time to communicate with us and keep us abreast of my daughter s progress. Weekends, nights, they were always available. I want to particularly note the hands-on approach of the owner of HEAL. She is passionate about helping people and is always on top of what is going on with clients. She went out of her way to accommodate my daughter s circumstances. Many facilities now have absentee owners or have been bought by larger entities. That is not true of HEAL and that is what makes it so special. We eventually found HEAL because we had a treatment professional in Florida who helped us find the right fit. We learned the hard way that relying on reviews or a website description or what admissions staff said was not how to pick a facility. So I help this review helps others. I can assure you this review was not solicited by anyone at HEAL. It is a true reflection of our experience. I would heartily recommend HEAL to anyone needing trauma therapy!

I cannot say enough about the owner of this recovery center, Tracie. I have called her numerous times, all hrs., only to have her provide guidance and advice on how to handle my adult daughter during active drug use. Tracie provided so much empathy and compassion in my moments of anguish, also offering a spot for her in her facility. It is obvious to me that not only does Tracie care immensely for those struggling with addiction, she is also a great advocate for families and everyone involved! Thank you and much respect to Tracie

This was my first (and last) treatment center I have been to. I received the treatment I needed, enjoyed the presence of my peers, and the services HEAL had to offer. I would highly recommend HEAL to people that are struggling and need an understanding environment that listens to problems that people are facing.

Accepted Insurance

HEAL Behavioral Health works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
If a person with a substance use disorder continually denies their problem or refuses to get treatment, a drug intervention in Florida may be necessary. Intervention services can help mediate the intervention by providing an addiction expert. This professional can de-escalate situations and facilitate a healthier discussion between the individual and their loved ones. Specialists can also help families handle issues they don't know how to navigate on their own.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Florida consists of individual therapy and group instruction. This structured program is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the development of skills for managing emotions and relationships.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

As a short term therapeutic method, motivational interviewing in Florida requires only a couple of sessions. During these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to talk about your circumstances and any discrepancies between your current situation and future goals. You'll then decide for yourself what changes you want to make.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

During couples therapy in Florida, your therapist will take steps to get to know you, help you identify feelings, explore the past, develop solutions, and help you learn skills to manage relationship challenges. This process will allow you to work through conflict and strengthen your relationship.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills are the core skills you need for daily success. They can include self care, stress management, daily routines, and emotion control. Rehab treatment includes the development of these skills so you have the tools you need for long term recovery.

I came to Heal after a horrible car accident, 5 spinal surgeries then broke my neck. I went into depression, anxiety and wasn't leaving my house. Needed to make a big move to break out of my "safe" bubble at home. With the help of Tracie and Natia, I made the move to the Ranch. Everyone from the techs, to the therapist and even the other guests helped me to meet my 31 day goal to reset and learn the tools I needed to break out of my bubble. Mission accomplished! I'm so grateful to the entire HEAL staff. And as a standout... I couldn't have made it without Tech Allison, she went above and beyond for me and I'm forever grateful!

After visiting several treatment centers, I m grateful for the care and support I received at HEAL Behavioral Health in West Palm Beach. The staff is incredibly supportive and knowledgeable, which made a significant difference in my recovery. Their focus on both addiction and underlying issues like anxiety and PTSD truly sets them apart. The peaceful ranch setting in South Florida, with all the animals, especially the horses, is perfect for recovery. My time at The Heal Ranch changed my life in ways I never imagined. When I first came there, I was at one of my lowest points, struggling with addiction and heavy, unresolved trauma. Right from the start, the staff welcomed me warmly and made me feel safe and understood.Ana was my therapist. At first, I didn't want to talk about my problems, but her kindness and patience helped me slowly open up about my pain. She guided me through my darkest memories and taught me ways to cope that really helped me.Miranda, the wellness coordinator, showed me mindfulness practices that were very important for my recovery. The peaceful and open environment, along with the personal care I received, made me feel like I was in a safe and welcoming retreat. In our group therapy sessions, I met others who had similar struggles. Hearing their stories and sharing mine made me feel like I was part of a caring community. We all supported each other and celebrated our small victories together.Leaving The Heal Ranch was bittersweet. I felt like I was saying goodbye to a new family. But I also felt ready to face the world again with the tools I needed. I m so thankful to the whole team at Heal Behavioral Health for their dedication and kindness. They didn t just help with my trauma and addiction; they helped me rebuild my life. If you re looking for help with mental health or addiction, I hope you consider my experience, which was truly life-changing.

When I arrived at Heal Behavioral Health in West Palm Beach, FL, I was struggling with PTSD and depression. From the moment I walked in, I felt a sense of calm. The place is beautiful, and my room was so comfortable and clean it felt like a luxury hotel. I remember meeting Cassandra and Elle on my first day; they were so kind and understanding, and I immediately felt supported. The treatment plan they created for me was amazing. It included different therapies that really helped me start to heal. One of the best parts of my stay was spending time at the ranch with the horses. There was something incredibly peaceful about being around them that made a big difference in my recovery. The luxury amenities at Heal Behavioral Health were a huge bonus. Whether it was relaxing in the garden, working out in the fitness center, or enjoying the delicious meals, everything was top-notch. Cassandra and Elle were always there to help and guide me through the tough moments. As my time there came to an end, they made sure I had a solid aftercare plan to keep me on track once I left. Looking back, my stay at Heal Behavioral Health was a life-changing experience, and I m so grateful for everything they did for me. If you or someone you know needs help, I highly recommend Heal Behavioral Health.
