I went there for procedures in August 2024. They said to me, in my face, they submitted the claims. They did not, so why they would tell me this is unreal. All of a sudden I get a bill from EH a month later, and I call asking why. They said the claim was denied. I called my insurance company, and they said Endeavor never sent a claim. Basically, the billing department's dishonest and incompetent nature is probably the biggest source of why they get consistently bad reviews. Who lies to patients? The billing department outright told me they did something and demanded I pay the balance, but never did they submit the claim as they said they did. Their insistence of saying this when it was completely untrue paints a picture of the endemic laziness and incompetence of the billing department.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Was taken into Glenbrook Hospital by calling 911. I waited 9 hours In the lobby throwing up the whole time. Only to later find out I had a STROKE. This is unacceptable on so many level. Though most of the staff were good, I got extremely lucky I didn't have any deficits from what happened. Endeavor is a lawsuit waiting to happen as they are playing with peoples lives. I got extremely lucky because I am in my 20's and having a stroke in general was a anomaly. Thankfully I walked out of this fine. This is typical Corporate BS where profit outweighs everything. I talked to one of the nurses in the ER of my experience and I was told since endeavor took over, all they did was cut cost by sacrificing quality on all aspects of the healthcare system. They laid off multiple staff, there are no rooms in ER department for staff to move people so they can do their job properly. We are talking about a healthcare system here-not some corporate sales company. Once again, I got lucky. Others might not.

I came into ER with chest pain at 6:30am. They took me to take blood and vitals right away. It is now 4 1/2 hours later and I m still in the waiting room. I think in about 1/2 hour I will just walk out. This is terrible. One well dressed couple came in and was taken right back to the ER room to be treated. Perhaps if you have money you get in sooner. What kind of hospital is this? Just horrible. I m worried if this is Glenview only option I might drive the extra miles to go to north western hospital in lake forest. This hospital is the worse. While waiting in the waiting room it took one hour and four men to change out the front door carpet. Just horrible. Don t go to this hospital. Go somewhere else!!! Not worth it.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy is provided by psychologists and licensed clinical social workers. Traditional reasons for seeking therapy/counseling, include, but are not limited to, treatment of depression, anxiety and/or other psychiatric disorders, the desire to change self-defeating patterns of behavior, gain self-knowledge and acceptance, or utilize support to problem-solve an individual's daily living issues.
inpatient iconInpatient
When participating in an inpatient rehab program, you'll reside at the treatment center for the duration of the program. Your housing and meals are provided, allowing you to focus on your recovery without outside triggers, stressors, and other distractions. You'll receive daily addiction counseling, drawing on various psychotherapeutic approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. Many inpatient drug rehabs also offer complementary holistic therapies, such as yoga, meditation, or animal therapy, and creative arts therapy.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Evanston Hospital is a time-limited, structured psychotherapy program designed to meet the needs of patients who are in need of intensive skill building to better cope with mental illness. The program offers structured treatment when conventional outpatient therapy is not sufficient to stabilize an individual’s symptoms. The program helps participants transition through strengthening abilities to identify triggers, utilize coping skills, communicate effectively, and manage stress.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs provide a full continuum of care for clients who are exiting inpatient treatment. Though outpatient care is often considered an element of drug rehab aftercare, services typically continue for the remainder of the clients' life and long after formal treatment is completed. Clients work with their case managers and care team to formulate a customized portfolio of medical, mental health, and social service resources designed to evolve as the client's needs change.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
As a flexible option, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is tailored for those who don't require 24-hour care. PHP treatment can include daily therapeutic sessions and services such as relapse prevention and medication management. Based on your needs, PHP treatment duration can average 90 days and require a minimum of 20 hours of commitment weekly. While a partial hospitalization program typically requires a commute, telehealth may be available. PHP treatment costs can vary but are often covered by most insurance.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Illinois is designed to help people recover from addiction to a number of substances. The length of each program and its intensity tend to vary, and the plan of care is based on your individual needs.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

During couples therapy in Illinois, you may work on a variety of relationship challenges. Couples therapy can address topics such as finances, children, health, addiction, intimacy, external stressors, and family relationships. You'll develop tools to address these types of challenges in healthy ways.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation. The Family Program includes private and multi-family sessions, to support family members throughout the treatment and recovery process.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

writing a review only based on the hospital and not the staff. The staff was great and very pleasant and very apologetic which I don t think medical staff should ever have to be apologetic for what I went through. I arrived at the ER due to excruciating abdominal pain around 3:30am. I was triaged immediately which was great, and it seemed there were about 5/6 people in the waiting room in front of me. I know EDs take patients based on emergencies as well but that should be taken into consideration with staffing and room availability. around 7 am my symptoms started to worsen. My husband went up to the desk and let them know I was vomiting in the public bathroom and asked if I could get an anti nausea. They told me I was next to be taken back and left it at that. For the next two and half hours I spent my time on the public bathroom floor vomiting. I was never reassessed or given any medication to help with the nausea. Once I was taken back around 930am, I was put on a bed in the hallway and didn t receive any privacy and was never put in a room for the next 5 hours I spent there. Again this is not the problem of the staff, everyone was very apologetic, attentive and said they wished I was getting the care I deserved.

Not good they want you out of there. Went to the ER 2x having inflamed lungs which they did fix, but my stomach was the main reason So my time wait 3hrs to been seen. they treat my lungs which were better but not perfect, told them in morning that my chest still hurt doctor still discharged me. Ended up back there next night oh suddenly I was seen right away. Then spent 3 days in hospital. They discharged me even though I wasn't 100% better now am getting worse again. I have not been able to even 1 egg. I still have constant chest pain I may have not go back. The first night after in the hospital a discharger was trying to talk to me about going home and became really quiet when I told you let go before. Also this are my blood test results the day of release. These are not good. They did not appear in the app till about 2 days later. I don't recommend this hospital. I am still in pain have not really eaten anything. I no doctor but those numbers don't look really good. Now I will have to maybe end up back in the ER, but not Endeavor Health who just wants to throw you out.

I went for lab work. I was sent to the check in desk. No one was there. Doors were unlocked and lights were off. Multiple people tried to help me, but no one knew why no one was staffing the lab. No one seems to be in charge and there is no accountability.

Absolutely ridiculous!!!!!! 2 and half hours spent in ER waiting room. Not a single person that has been here since 11:15 has been taken to the ER itself. No water offered to patients, only vending machine that charges $2.85 for a bottle of water.Shame, shame, shame!!!!!!

If I can give them -10 stars I definitely will. The security guy sits at his desk and does not do his job properly. I explained to him that there was a tissue box with dirty tissues around it and on top it. I was letting him know so he can let the people who are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness at the hospital but instead he offered me some glove so I can do the job as if I was an employee at the hospital he contours to be on his phone instead of taking care of responsibility. Now I can definitely say that when I spoke to the nurse and let then they definitely removed the tissue but the security guard was to too busy on his phone watching inappropriate things not only that but rude as can possibly.

As others have said, the ER here is criminally understaffed and any attempt to try to understand when you may receive care is met with hostility. Avoid at all costs.

The worse emergency room ever. I sat in the waiting room for more then 9 1/2 hours. There was only six people in total and still nothing. No came out to least check on anyone. I will never go back to this hospital. When I asked they told me that most times the wait is 12 hours. People this hospital isn't worth the money or time. Go some where else.
