I was at genesis a little over a year ago when I decided to change my life. Couldn t imagine a better place to begin the recovery process. Both the techs and nurses were beyond amazing. Anytime I needed to talk the techs were available and more than willing to listen. The absolute hell that active addiction is does not have to control your life. Genesis was the stepping stone that led me to recovery. If you re struggling with addiction reach out for help.

Accepted Insurance

Genesis Medical Detox – Drug And Alcohol Detox works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
aftercare iconAftercare
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
The goal of a drug intervention in Tennessee is to encourage a person with a substance use disorder to enter treatment. The process also educates family members about addiction, enabling behaviors, and treatment options. The involvement of intervention services can help with this education and provide guidance for the intervention itself and follow-up care. The professional interventionist will work with the entire family to encourage the best outcomes possible from the intervention.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
Safe detox requires 24-hour clinical care in Tennessee. This is due to the health risks that are involved during withdrawal. As the brain reacts to the absence of the drug, severe symptoms can occur, depending on the type of drug used. For instance, alcohol and benzodiazepine withdrawal may result in seizures. Fortunately, supervised care in a clinical setting can provide the necessary treatment to avoid health risks and allow you to complete detox safely.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
To keep you safe and comfortable during the detoxification process, a medically assisted detox provides you with a team of medical professionals who can provide the necessary medications to treat any potential withdrawal symptoms. Suddenly stopping chronic abuse of substances like alcohol, benzodiazepines, or opioids can have uncomfortable and even dangerous side effects.

Clinical Services

Typical cognitive behavioral therapy in Tennessee involves recognizing negative thinking and learning techniques to change that thinking and create new, positive behaviors. Strategies may include SMART goals, journaling, and situation exposure.

Counseling in Tennessee that takes a dialectical behavior therapy approach can last from six to 12 months. During that time, you'll develop skills in the areas of distress tolerance, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

In Tennessee, group therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction typically involve skill development to help you learn communication techniques and relapse prevention strategies. These strategies support your transition into the community and help you maintain long term sobriety.

Men and women in Tennessee undergoing one on one individual therapy sessions focus on understanding their unique needs and challenges. They do this under the guidance of an experienced therapist who can help you identify and address addiction triggers as well as create personalized relapse prevention plans. This offers you a customized path to a successful recovery journey.

If you participate in motivational interviewing in Tennessee, your therapist will focus on four key strategies: open questions, affirmation, reflections, and summarizing. Rather than confront or warn you to change, the clinician will allow you to explore your own motivations and decide what changes you may need to make in your life.

Trauma therapy is a safe place to work through the lingering effects of traumatic events in your life. Your therapist will help you understand the physical and emotional responses that can develop after witnessing or experiencing a traumatic event. You then work toward developing healthier coping mechanisms to reduce your symptoms.

While engaged in couples therapy in Tennessee, you'll learn how to trust, communicate, forgive, and manage emotions. Developing these skills can be beneficial at any time during the relationship, but they are particularly crucial when facing life challenges.

Family therapy uses a structured environment to address the complexities of addiction and the negative influences it has on the family unit. Therapists work with family members to develop effective coping and communication strategies that support their loved one's recovery while also focusing on the health and well being of each family member.

I can't say enough about this place! I literally just got home 1.5 hours ago and couldn't wait to leave a review... From the people you talk to on the phone, to the cleaning lady, to the techs, to the nurses, they are the best of the best. Some of the most caring folks I've ever met in my 41 years. Each and every person in that place truly cares about your wellbeing and your sobriety. The nurses make sure you're comfortable and they go above and beyond to do so.The food was great and they have more snacks than a convenience store! The rooms are comfortable and the other amenities were awesome.I can't recommend this place enough if you're struggling with drugs or alcohol. They will give you the help that you need.

I did not have a good experience, and I think that it is so unfortunate. On my fourth day of detox, I started getting very sick and throwing up. The door to my room was open, and the nurse came in and said, "I'm going to shut your door because some of the staff and patients can hear you getting sick, and it is making them sick." As if I didn't feel bad enough already, now I felt even worse that me getting sick was causing others to get sick. I would assume that people who work in ahealthcare facility would be adequately trained in dealing with a patient throwing up. Another worker also said to me, "You better start feeling better soon because you're leaving tomorrow." What an odd thing to say to a patient. As if I have some kind of control over whether or not I throw up. Another nurse (I think her name was Betty) got upset with me because she felt like I shut my door to my room too hard. The doors are really heavy and I would push it with however much force I thought it would take to close it. She came in my room and said, "if you do that again, I will discharge you out of here right now!" It was after midnight when this happened. Altogether, it was a terrible experience, and obviously, some of the staff agreed with me because the tech who drove me home the next morning said, "Some of the staff and I were talking this morning, and we really feel like we failed you, and I'm very sorry that happened to you. We shouldn't have failed you, and I'm sorry we did." I hope that other people who come through detox have a much better experience than I did.

Absolutely the greatest staff imaginable. I personally watched them save lives, most likely mine included. I can not recommend Genesis Detox facility enough. And if it matters to you, you can smoke on the hour and the food is above average
