I have been seeing Timea for the last few years. After having 2 kids within 13 months I was looking for someone I could confide in that would be helpful with my mental wellness. It has always been a wonderful experience. Through the pandemic she was always available. Took measures to make sure communication was open and available. Definitely recommend.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program

Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in Ohio may occur in individual, group, or family sessions. It involves focusing on specific thought and behavior problems. Participants learn coping techniques and are asked to practice them as homework between sessions.

The main goals of dialectical behavior therapy are to teach you how to regulate your emotions, develop positive ways to cope with stress, improve your relationships, and live in the moment. This therapy lasts about six months and involves weekly individual and group sessions.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

With trauma therapy, you can reclaim your life after witnessing or experiencing a traumatic event. Therapists help you process the memories, which promotes emotional healing and enables you to build resilience to navigate future challenges and triggers.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

My experience with Mike Guyer differs significantly from the previous post. Mr. Guyer has shown himself to be professional, understanding, and honest in his counseling. Perhaps the previous reviewer did not like his counseling; Mr. Guyer is honest, but also diplomatic, in his assessment and that can hurt.

In one hour, Dr. Michael Guyer fell asleep at least FIVE TIMES.Imagine you have some anxiety. Schedule a counselor via email.Me: "Hello, do you have any availability next week for a counseling session for a new patient?"Him: "What did you have in mind."With a period. "What did you have in mind."Per my email? Let's see. I'm a new patient. I'm considering ... a counseling session. Next week when you are available. That's exactly what I have in mind. I've just got a list of names over here and somehow you're on it. What am I supposed to say? I sit there looking at the period. What did I have in mind.Benefit of the doubt! So I thought about what kinds of things I could include to clear it up. I scrounged up some details about my own availability. I don't know what else HE had in mind that I was supposed to say. Like, ASK A QUESTION. I don't know what his office hours are, I don't know if I should just write my whole life story. I don't know WHAT else to say.Call it a red flag, ok maybe. But I know that different people have strengths in different areas, and maybe he's not great with email. Must be REALLY good at what he does. BONUS!Let's fast forward, it's the day of the appointment. Imagine yourself here, trying to explain what you feel is an important, and complex, situation, to a stranger. And he just ... falls asleep! Repeatedly.I walked out at one point. I stayed calm because if I have a strength in one area, it's staying calm. I went back in and he was awake enough to open the door for me. *yay*Hey, I get it, I've been tired before. I used to sleep through math class! But for the love of everything, I feel that in this setting, it would have been extremely appropriate to step out for a minute and get some fresh air or a glass of water. It was right after lunch. I used to get sleepy after a big lunch, too. Yeah! Ok so we've all been there. Just happens that when I fell asleep in the wrong setting, so did the 20 other teenagers around me, because it was a little too warm, a little too dark, the class was not that important!Michael, I will not be sending you that email about a next visit.P.S. Ok ok wait, let's see how it ended. The hour was up. I was thinking, "Wow an hour just passed and I had this expectation of walking out feeling a little better. I actually feel worse!" Hmm. "Oh, it's because I wanted some encouragement!"I asked, "So do you have any advice or next steps for me?" He said, "No, today was really just about intake."I couldn't even respond!Destigmatize Mental Illness. Share your one-star reviews. Save a life.Find a better provider!

We have decided to replace our original reply with a more thoughtful one. You are certainly reacting strongly here. While we cannot comment on your care specifically, we do feel compelled to point out that there are several reasons one might have a reaction like this. While bad therapist behavior is one possibility, that would not happen at our practice. Another possibility is that something in the session hit too close to home; that the therapist did or said something that was uncomfortable, but needed to be done. And another scenario is that the therapist had not done anything but gather information - - hadn't drawn any conclusions or come to any plan yet, but the person felt the therapist was judging or siding against them somehow. We are certainly not strangers to working through strong negative feelings and would welcome the opportunity to process this with you. In the event that you choose other venues, we do wish you well.
